Don't deport the Newark Four

UPDATE: 29/07/17 - We won!

International students told they can stay!

Lingtzu Chen, 31, and Meng-Hsiu Tsai, from Taiwan, Australian Daniel Chick, and Yasuhiro Nakashima, from Japan, who are students at the Newark School of Violin-Making and Repair, were due to be deported after July 31 because their international visas had been cancelled by the Home Office.

But yesterday the UK Visas and Immigration Service confirmed the students could stay in the UK and complete their studies at the school, which is part of the Lincoln College Group (LCG).

Don't deport the Newark Four

Four international students at the internationally renowned Newark School of Violin-Making and Repair face deportation over issues with the parent institution's accreditation. We want you to intervene to allow them to finish their courses.

Why is this important?

This is important, because it is cruel and unfair on the four students affected by this, and because it will damage the reputation of the school, and the nation.

Reasons for signing

  • I can't see the reason for anyone being deported unless they have been involved in criminal or subversive activities.
  • These students deserve better treatment!
  • Because I would hate this to happen to my children.
