PIP and Cystic Fibrosis

Introduce free prescriptions for those with lifelong medical conditions and long-term disabilities that have lost their financial support under the new strict PIP guidelines (Like in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland)

Why is this important?

Many people with long-term disabilities, lifelong illnesses and conditions have lost their financial support through the introduction of the PERSONAL INDEPENDENCE PAYMENT (PIP).
Many people in England have to pay for their own prescriptions which is unfair on some of the most vulnerable members of our society, especially those who are unemployed because their illness or disability prevents them from doing so.

I have Cystic Fibrosis and have to take up to 60-70 tablets a day to maintain my health. Without the financial support that was previously in place with DLA, I now have to pay for all my medication through my own pocket, as I have lost my entitlement to financial assistance like many more people that are in a similar position as myself.

In Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland this is not the case as those with long-term disabilities or lifelong conditions do receive free prescriptions. The Conservative government need to offer us a compromise after implementing PIP, where the guidelines are too strict. So, what I am petitioning for is equality for the population of England to bring it into line with the rest of the United Kingdom.
