Bellamy Road, Mansfield – Landscaping and Cleaning
I am writing to you as you have created an online petition on the 38 degrees website regarding cleaning and landscaping at Bellamy Road.
Places for People Landscapes now supply both the cleaning and landscaping service at Bellamy Road and have done since April 2016. Prior to this the service was supplied by Places for People Landscapes (landscaping) and Places for People Site Services (cleaning and caretaking). The current service delivery is based on a mobile model for both elements of the work.
Our landscapes team visit fortnightly throughout the year for a full day with 2 additional ½ day visits carried out during the month on a variable basis as needed. This is the same frequency as prior to April 2016.
A separate cleaning team visits site three times a week throughout the year to carry out the internal cleaning. The attendance days are Monday and Wednesday for a full day and half a day on Thursday to coincide with the bin collection. Additional visits are made as required to collect fly tipping that cannot be collected as part of the routine visits and for specialist works such as gritting when required.
A number of tasks previously carried out by the caretaker are now delivered by other teams i.e. minor estate repairs are now carried out by our Property Maintenance Team. We believe the current model allows us to deliver services in the most efficient way.
The neighbourhood is subject to regular management audits for both grounds maintenance and cleaning. The grounds maintenance inspections scored 87% in July, 81% in August and 80% in September. The internal cleaning service scored 81% in August 2017.
In late September 2017 the site was inspected by our Regional Operations Manager who rated the site at 80% for the grounds maintenance element and 78% for the internal cleaning.
In relation to the general grounds maintenance the site is now in the in between stage between summer and winter and autumn leaf fall has started. We anticipate two further grass cuts before the full winter works start. Moss growth is once again becoming evident on footpaths and will require attention, the physical condition of the path surfacing will limit treatment options to chemical methods.
Our Contract Manager will continue to make regular monthly audits to ensure that the correct standards are being meet and improved upon wherever possible.

Why is this important?
All tenants want, need and deserve a clean community in which to live and your constant cost saving initiatives are depriving the community of the services that they pay for each week.
Since the removal of our previous estate cleaner Stuart, the area has become litter strewn and untidy, previous letters on this subject have been unsuccessful in securing a resolution and we feel that tenants should withdraw paying service fee's until we actually receive a service.
How it will be delivered
The signatures will be both emailed and posted to Places for People when we have the majority of all 116 households.
