What the Frack! Regular referendums. Let the UK public vote for their future.

What the frack...it's time to ask the people.

A law has been passed today (16/12/15) to allow fracking for shale gas 1200 metres below national parks and other protected sites in the UK putting drinking water, wildlife and land at risk.

I'm yet to meet anyone that agrees with fracking. Most would prefer the government to regularly educate and support the UK in long term renewable energy, rather than draining the earth of it's natural gases and oil. How can this end well?

We all seem to be tiring of shortsighted MPs not thinking beyond their careers and the consequences their decisions may bring to our land and it's people.

This is just one of many reasons regular referendums should take place, asking the public if we agree or disagree before a change in our society or law is sanctioned.

Why is this important?

Members of the public find it difficult to support a political party 100%. Our system is out of date, our MPs out of touch, the public go unheard. We agree with points made by the Lib Dems, the Conservatives, Labour, the Green Party, the SNP etc and sometimes we disagree with them all. Either way we can't communicate with the government effectively. The system needs to work for us all but instead it's dusty, nobody really understands it or cares to sort it out with any long term vision. We need to start again. Simplify. Direct questions, direct answers.

If regular referendums were to take place, the public are truly part of the process, allowing us to demonstrate what we care about, that we're united and want to invest in the future of this land and it's people. Less moaning and more doing, having a proactive and fair say, feeling satisfied that the decisions are being made and supported by the majority of the UK.

Let the UK public vote for their future.
This Kingdom can then begin to feel proud and respected, and most importantly, united.

How it will be delivered

I don't generally have strong political views apart from trying to be a decent human being and appreciating fair and common sense. I run a small business and I'm a mum. I'm wondering and hoping that there are other people out there that feel the same way, that will sign this petition and help me decide how we deliver it.
