• Stop the closure of Liverpool city libraries
These libraries provide a quiet place for people to study and work in peace and safety, and the books on the shelves provide a vital lifeline of education to many children across the city region. Without them, many will lose a vital part of their everyday lives!

  • Governments '96% project' for school attendance
There is a 48 hour rule on contagious illness for a reason - so that the whole school isnt infected yet this new scheme penalises those parents who abide by the 48 hour rule putting the rest of the school at risk and not allowing our children to fully recover from their illnesses (reducing their immune systems and need for additional medical care in the future!) The 96% project will also put additional pressure on the NHS for everyday illnesses to be confirmed by already over stretched doctors just so the children arent marked as 'absent'. There needs to be a better way of targeting attendance that doesnt put a huge risk to the health of our schools and add pressure to the NHS, not to mention the cost to our schools in implementing this system.

  • Scrap Council Tax
Council tax is unfair because it doesnt take ability to pay into account but is based on the value of your home not your income.

  • Take action to guarantee GP registration for everyone in Edinburgh
The GP system in Edinburgh is falling apart and the GP surgeries are coping the only way they can - by limiting registrations. But everyone has the right to be registered with a GP. Restricting GP services could lead to more people self-diagnosing and self-medicating. Many may have to resort to going to A&E even though they should not need to. NHS Lothian needs to step in here. They need to recruit more GPs and regulate the behaviour of the GP surgeries.

  • Register "legal owner" and "registered keeper" on V5C log book
When you buy a second hand vehicle you have no way of knowing whether the "registered keeper" is legally entitled to sell the vehicle. If you buy it and the "legal owner" disputes the sale you would have to give it back to the legal owner and lose your money paid. This would also stop the taking back of vehicles bought as "gifts" by the legal owner and given to the registered keeper. This has happened to my son, his dad bought him a car, and registered my son as the "registered keeper". They then fell out and the dad transferred the car into his own name as the "registered keeper", claiming that he was the "legal owner", then sold the car. Unbelievably, the dvla say this is allowed. The V5C document requesting the transfer was not signed by my son (the registered keeper) even though the document states that the registered keeper "must" sign. Apparently, the V5C wasn't signed at all! This isn't "fair" so by changing the V5C, prospective buyers and registered keepers will know where they stand as far as "ownership" is concerned.

  • Stop HS2
It will cost every man woman and child in the UK £780.00 each, assuming it's on budget. There isn't sufficient people that will use the service to make it worth while. The say the trains will hold 1100 people and they will run every 3 minutes, that's 22,000 people per hour. In 10 hours that would be 220,000 where will they all go?

  • Save our Barry
It is important because it has become apparent that a small minority want to spoil things for the vast majority by objecting to Barry selling ice-cream from his beautiful cart in Lelant. It is vital these people who objected see that Barry has the support of people whose common sense and community hasn't been lost and who support him in all the advantages he brings to the village. Let's not let small minded bigots spoil our community, let's join together and sign up here to support Barrys application.

  • BBC apologise; Eurovision refugee tribute omission
BBC is supposed to be impartial and to choose not to broadcast this part of Eurovision, which covers refugees is highly questionable, could be seen as politically motivated or even worse censorship.
