We need to reduce our emissions but electric cars are still out of most peoples' reach financially. If the government is serious about reducing our emissions then steps need to be taken to make electric vehicles affordable. One way to do this would be for the government to help people to buy their first electric vehicle. Once electric vehicle ownership has become more commonplace then there is the possibility of a second hand market developing sooner and further improving their affordability in the UK. It needs to happen now!

This would encourage recycling which would be of benefit to the environment. This would also help to reduce the amount of waste going to landfill sites, especially plastic waste.

These advertising hoarding are visual pollution. They block out the sky, the moving ones distract motorists. The reinforce our consumer society which is trashing the planet.

It is the younger generation who appear to be most concerned about the future of our planet, but as parents of even younger children I am constantly shocked by the amount of plastic used in the production of children's toys, which includes plastic fibres, plastic packaging, and plastic that is never going to go away for at least another few hundred years. We have no idea at the moment what all that plastic is doing to our children's health with them playing with the toys, but then to think that those toys will carry on polluting our environment for so many more years to come just doesn't make sense to me. I feel it would be a great opportunity for the toy manufacturers to demonstrate to our future generations that thinking and acting in an environmentally responsible way will enable them and their children to continue enjoying their toys in a safe and ethical way.

I have researched this and as advised by the BBC website; the average household has up to 12 gadgets on standby or charging at any one point. Britons waste the equivalent of around two power stations' worth of electricity each year by leaving TV sets and other gadgets on standby. This is just in households alone, where people do have the option to turn TV's and gadgets off standby if educated correctly. It is worrying that every hotel and B&B you visit in the UK, Europe and globally where TV's are located in the room, that they are all left on standby 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. There is no need to keep the TV's on standby and could be turned off fully. Norman Baker, the Liberal Democrat's environment spokesman has calculated that the CO2 emissions from electrical equipment being left on standby are equivalent to 1.4 million long-haul flights. To put it another way, the entire population of Glasgow could fly to New York and back again and the resulting emissions would still be less than that from devices left in sleep mode.

Every day when i go about my business i see unnecessarily vehicle idling. This is illegal but is not enforced. How many times do you go to your local supermarket and see vehicles just sitting there pumping out there poisonous fumes? Idling needlessly adds to climate change, adds to air pollution, wastes fuel and impacts the health of all. This is even more so for young children breathing in these poison fumes which can ultimately affect there respiratory system and affecting them for life. I regularly remind people of their actions but unfortunately many do not care, with all we know about climate change and the harmful pollutants in vehicle emissions this is simply unacceptable Its time a system was introduced such as the scheme in New York City where citizens can record and report such needless actions so fines can be issued

Without this legislation in place, in the event of a no deal Brexit, numerous environmental laws will be unenforced and farmers will not be able to apply for funding to help agriculture become more sustainable and undertaken with the intention of helping to mitigate climate change. The consequences are self-evident.

Because there is enough plastic on the planet to make whatever we need and it is suffocating the world.

The United Nations says we could have just 11 years left to limit a climate change catastrophe. ... "The national government needs to declare an emergency and put resources in place to enable councils to help reduce carbon emissions. Reduce, reuse, repair and recycle to cut down waste and stop using one use plastics. Stronger and genuine sustainable policies needed to enable sustainable development and local resilience in terms of community energy, transport, eco housing, local food production.

We know that there are options to sell these products in recyclable pouches as the big brands are already doing it. This is something that can be done. These own brands are making a conscious choice to sell their products without care for the environment, and are choosing profits over the planet and it needs to change now!

I feel we are losing our beautiful country to crowded roads full of cars and fumes damaging the wildlife and our environment to us all becoming greedy machines. People are more stressed unhappy and certainly unhealthy! Life speeds past us all enough and all we are doing is damaging our planet and leaving our children and grand children is a black hole to live in ! Yet we say we want the best for our children? By making a stand is at least trying to make a difference as I know not everyone likes to cycle but for the ones that do at least make some dent in the smokey air to breathe!

Hemp has 25,000 different uses, It can be used to make significant quantities of paper, textiles, building materials, food, medicine, paint, detergent, varnish, oil, ink, and fuel to name a few. The Low THC Cannabis (Industrial Hemp) Licensing requirement is unnecessarily complicated and expensive. It is a ‘cash crop’ that could restore the fortunes of UK farmers and the environment while there is no reason, other than protecting the interests of a couple of very large companies with questionable government connections, that growing this crop in this country in the 21st century should require a license. In 1533, King Henry VIII made hemp cultivation compulsory by law. They could even pay their taxes with Hemp. President Trump has recognised its importance and has made it legal to grow in the US. Why cut down a tree when you can use hemp?
