We, the residents of Fleet Road Farnborough, and surrounding areas, vehemently oppose the proposed development of houses on the residents' car park between the Scout Hut and 13 Fleet Road, and we would like to bring your attention to several key objections: Environmental Impact: Constructing houses on this car park would harm the local environment, depriving residents of valuable open space that contributes to their well-being and quality of life. Legal Concerns: Changing the land use from a car park to housing raises significant legal issues, potentially breaching planning regulations and policies governing land use in Rushmoor. Land Ownership Dispute: There may be a dispute over the ownership of the land, as the council unilaterally assumed ownership without notifying or consulting the residents who believed they had legal rights to it. This situation requires a thorough investigation. Lack of Transparency: The council's actions in taking ownership without proper communication or engagement with affected residents undermine trust and violate our rights. Principles of transparency and due process must be upheld. Health and Safety Risks: Constructing houses without considering health and safety implications could lead to increased traffic congestion, limited emergency access, compromised pedestrian safety, and heightened pollution levels. Considering these objections, I urge Rushmoor Borough Council to reconsider the proposal and prioritize the preservation of open spaces, compliance with planning regulations, resolution of ownership disputes, and the safety and well-being of residents. We kindly request a thorough assessment of the potential impacts and legal ramifications, along with open dialogue with affected residents and exploration of alternative solutions that preserve the car park. The scale of this is huge – in 2022, Amazon UK Services made a £222 million profit. Yet it paid no corporation tax in the UK in that year.  In fact the government gave them £7.7m in tax credits that were introduced for two years for making investments in infrastructure, which they likely would have made anyway. The previous Government then brought in permanent tax credits for these investments.  Now that we have a new Government, we have an opportunity to crack down on this avoidance. If thousands of us sign this petition directed at Rachel Reeves, Chancellor of the Exchequer, we can ensure that tax loopholes are closed so more money can be raised for our public services and families struggling with the cost of living crisis. The Government is changing the law to help victims of fraud, but it fails to stop crime at the source. Innocent people’s bank details are being traded and sold on social media platforms like Telegram, but these companies are not held liable. The Online Safety Bill needs to be expanded to ensure that fraud victims receive compensation from the social media platform their bank details are sold on.

As it stands it unfairly penalises those who strive to reduce their energy consumption footprint.

The 20 years rule allows a legal route for those who have lived in the UK continuously for 20 years. The rule does not grant them immediate indefinite leave to remain at the end of the 20 years but to start another 10 years process after which they can then apply for indefinite leave to remain. Those affected mainly are people that are termed overstayers. If you take 30 years in total out of the active period of an individual's life what do they have left? An applicant at 40 would be in this cage until they are 70! So many have lost touch with the families they left behind in their originating countries. Some have died while waiting out the first 20 years. A lot have gone mentally sick, depressed and even committed suicide or have gone sucidal because of being stagnant for such a long time. Marriages have been broken or severely damaged and deaths of loved ones experienced by the long separation caused to mention a few. If this inhumane rule is reviewed and changed to just a few years, applicants would still have much useful years and be able to move on with their lives. Also there would be a great reduction in the number of people that are overstayers. The wicked rule is clearly a form of modernised slavery being encouraged by the UK government. Sadly, the UK government is in this matter considered to be guilty of destroying the social, mental and economic wellbeing of these individuals. However, the government in addition to reducing the 30 years, can give the overstayers limited opportunity to work and pay tax while they are being restricted from having access to certain public funds; the government would then have a better statistics of the population, who pays tax and who contributes to the National Insurance. This is the time to act because the UK government has for a long time been infringing upon the people's Human Rights by this rule that has kept changing. The first part used to be 10 years as at about 2000, then it was increased to 14 years and now, 20years! This is evil and UK is toying with people's lives unduly. This 20 years UK long residence Immigration Rule is rigid, heartless, unempathetic, tyranny and oppression against human beings particularly to other ethnic community background and their relatives.

Please, join us in trying to get a permanent 20 mph limit throughout Elsrickle to keep our kids, friends, family and pets safe. The speed that traffic currently goes through the village is unacceptable for a growing community of young families and the walking routes to our new school are unfit for purpose. Even if you do not live in Elsrickle, a reduced speed limit would allow safer school and nursery walks out.

I back the campaign run by the Royal Osteoporosis Society (ROS) and the Sunday Express. In terms of years lost to premature death and disability, fractures (broken bones) caused by osteoporosis are the fourth most devastating health condition of all. Effective therapies exist, but the postcode lottery for Fracture Liaison Services means around 90,000 people per year are missing out on treatment. The result is tens of thousands of preventable spinal and hip fractures, which are life-changing for people and costly for the NHS. We're calling on the Government to use the Major Conditions Strategy to send a clear message to Integrated Care Boards that everyone over 50 deserves access to a quality Fracture Liaison Service. We can then deliver on the mantra that the first fracture should be the last fracture. Beating osteoporosis will tackle one of the most urgent threats to people living well in later life.

On the 26th of May 2023 The Isle of Wight Echo and The County Press published a report outlining the prospective closure of St Marys Catholic Primary School Ryde. These reports were published before consultation with St Marys staff or school community. We view these actions as inconsiderate and unnecessary. St Marys Catholic Primary school is very much valued by our school community, parents, pupils and teachers alike. As parents, we are the primary educators of our children and have chosen St Mary’s because it’s values and ethos align with our own. As a church school community these values are of utmost importance to us. The prospect of removing St Mary’s from our community would disallow our children to be educated according to our spiritual beliefs and values. Our children have the right to attend school within their locality and the local secular schools would not educate our children in the values and practices that are so important to our faith. Ryde is a large town and second in population only to Newport and as such, should have our own Catholic provision. As a church maintained school we have contributed the required 10% in funds from our community and diocese, which must be acknowledged by the Local Education Authority. These are funds that the LEA are not required to pay. Our children are happy and settled at St Mary’s Primary School, many families are very much committed to the school and have numerous siblings that attend. As parents we oppose the proposed closure of St Mary’s and demand that we are properly informed and consulted with regarding this prospective closure.

Because many patients are being threatened with removal or are removed from GP patient lists often following formal or complaints. Many surgeries operate Kangaroo Courts that become Judge and Jury without ever meeting with the patient or discussing the matter. Individual GP Complaints Policies and NHS Complaints policies are being ignored or significantly breached with little or no come-back for the patient(s).

It is good for socialising, enjoying play time and the sun shine gets parents together to have a great day out even have picnics on the grass and in a updated playground for kids to burn there energy, some parents can not afford days out with this it would be a free facility it will also bring people together for all to enjoy This will also bring in more business for the local shop's cafe, it will benefit many people.

Entrance to Site for Customers and Deliveries: The entrance proposed for customers and deliveries is ill-conceived and inappropriate for the area. The resultant congestion would create inconvenience for local residents, obstruct access to neighboring businesses, and compromise road safety. Negative Impact on Local Historic Retail Business: The proposed construction of a large-scale convenience store with a significant range of products and services would have a detrimental impact on the existing local historic retail businesses. These small-scale enterprises are an integral part of our community and contribute to its character and charm. The introduction of a major chain store would threaten their viability and potentially lead to the loss of these beloved establishments. Incompatibility with the Local Environment: The addition of external lighting, extensive landscaping, and associated works would alter the aesthetic and environmental balance of the area. It could disrupt the existing natural beauty and compromise the visual appeal of the neighborhood. The proposed development fails to consider the preservation of the local landscape and disregards the importance of maintaining the character of the community. Therefore, we, the undersigned, request the following actions to be taken: Halt the demolition of the car sales/garage and reconsider the suitability of the proposed site for the SPAR convenience store. School uniform in our local area costs anywhere from £100-£200. This is highly unreasonable, especially considering the current cost of living crisis. Many families are struggling to fund their child's uniform as most schools have strict policies on jumpers, blazers, bags and PE kits which makes it difficult to accumulate for as each item of clothing is expensive. To solve this problem, my group has come up with an idea to help families who need support. This involves encouraging students who have outgrown/no longer need their uniform to donate it to their school which will go towards the new year 7s and any other years who need it. Another way to help ease the stress of uniform costs would be to simply lower the price tag. Around £30 for a school jumper is outrageous when you could buy a similar one from a clothing shop for a lot cheaper. Many families are already struggling in the current cost of living crisis and school uniform prices are only adding more stress. It is important to help this problem because people shouldn't have to worry about whether they can afford their child to have clothing or not. The government website also states that it is important for schools to have a way for their school uniform to be available to everyone. Things need to change.
