My wife had a double lung transplant in April 2014 as she was born with Cystic Fibrosis and had months to live without such an a gift of life. Since Summer 2014 we and local residents have been fighting plans to build another 25 houses around our property on old allotments ground. The applications are flawed in many ways and have objections from County Highways Authority. Due to Highways objections it also proposes changes to our property by taking a small proportion of our land and changing our parking from the front to the rear which we have already refused when offered. None of the legalities have been addressed by the applicants, despite repeated requests. Whilst we consider the application to be invalid due to lack of legalities and missing/inaccurate information the Planning Case Officer sees no merit in refusing permission, suggesting it is not invalid! We have now been stuck in a position for nearly two years where our future is being held by many other parties and not ourselves. We cannot even market our property should we wish to due to the lack of legal agreements. In the meantime during 2015 a nearby site of 85 houses has had a serious effect on her health with the huge amounts of dust contributing to her contracting Aspergillosis and losing over 30% of her new donor lungs! George Osborne has announced plans to take £70 a week away from thousands of people with disabilities, by cutting Personal Independence Payments (PIP). For many of us, this will mean losing the crucial support which enables us to get out of the house. Many people in our area would be hit hard by this cut. This petition calls on our local MP to do all they can to stop this cruel and unfair plan. Please, show your support for local people with disabilities and help stop the cuts to PIP.

To make it possible for people to enjoy their work and leisure time at home in relative peace without the deafening cacophony of an endless stream of power tools. The professional gardeners using these items tend to wear ear defenders which goes to show what a racket they make. I have personally had to abandon a weekend barbecue with friends as we could not hear each other speak due to the use of 3 power tools at once by the next door neighbours gardeners for over an hour. Surely this breaches noise pollution levels?

We want to create an open access bike skills park in the heart of Edinburgh, making mountain biking accessible from within the city. Our site is an area of neglected woodland wedged between the Southside area of Edinburgh and the Western boundary of Holyrood Park (immediately adjacent to the Crags Community Sports Centre). We want to build: - An 800m Blue Graded MTB Trail looping through the woods (for beginners, younger kids, and cycle proficiency) - Red Graded Skills Development Features (located along the Blue Trail) - An awesome Pump Track that will be great for developing skills and improving technique But we are doing way more than just creating a cool new bike play space: We are also cleaning up a potentially lovely but badly neglected woodland and turning it back into a green space that everyone, young and old, will actually use, spend time in & enjoy. Specifically we are: - Cleaning up all the rubbish, dog mess etc - Getting rid of all the needles so the woods are safe again for kids & dogs to play in again - Planting 200 new native species & fruit trees - Installing 30 bird & bat boxes - Installing new benches & rubbish bins - Improving footpaths for dog walkers & runners After four years of hard work we have: - Planning permission - A 25 year lease for the site - 80% of the funding - Loads of support from local people, organisations and businesses! Once up and running, the woods will also be a great community resource for local Eco schools & forest school projects, for young people to achieve their JASS & John Muir Awards, and for led walks by park rangers plus interpretive guided tours. So why is this so important? Learning to ride a bike gives young people great confidence, and an ability to access and explore the outdoors independently, which often goes on to benefit them throughout their adult lives. Young people often can't do this in safety on the street because they are too congested and dangerous to learn on. It is important, as Type 1's use these drinks to save their lives. They do not use them for fun, or for their taste. They are used purely as a lifesaver. I understand why there is a sugar tax, I am not opposed to that. I just think that the increased tax from purchases of drinks used by Type 1's should be given to research into finding a cure. Type 1 diabetics need these sugary drinks to sustains their lives. They have to correct with fast acting sugar when their blood sugars fall below target. Yes, there are glucose tablets available. But, these are not as readily available as sugary drinks, and sometimes they are hard to chew and swallow, depending on how bad the low is. So therefore, these drinks are invaluable to Type 1's, and it is totally unfair that they are penalised with this new sugar tax, which is designed to stop members of the public from gorging on them, and thus creating an extra strain on the NHS with diseases and ailments caused by being overweight. I want George Osborne to donate a small percentage of this extra revenue to research to find a cure for this disease.

Unconventional Fossil Fuels extraction and the Volatile Organic Compounds that are released as gasses and liquid spills are inherently dangerous, and we have plenty of evidence from other countries that it causes major damage to life and health. If this industry is to be allowed to operate in this country close to people they should be regulated and monitored stringently. If the cost has to come from the industry then so be it, we need to ensure that the public, animals and environment are safe, and so far with calls to the sites that have been active in the UK the response from the EA has been less than desirable; lying and failing in their duties. Millions of lives are at risk if these wells leak, we need to prevent this from happening. At this moment in time there is no public safety net from this industry who are releasing contaminants into the atmosphere.

The refuge is a safe place for women who's lives have been shattered by rape, sexual assault and domestic violence. Without this safe place, which although only short term, provides much needed breathing space. Not only that it shows these people that not everyone is out to hurt them. The removal of funding for these vital services, gives abused women the message that no one cares and it is ok for them to be abused. Is this a good message to send out across Cumbria?

Babington Hospital in Belper could be closed and services moved if plans are given the green light. Babington Hospital was completed in 1840 and has provided cherished care for thousands of Derbyshire people ever since, from newly born babies to older people who need care and support. This includes numerous clinics and rehabilitation services for patients, before they return home, in a caring and safe environment. The CQC inspection of May 2014 said Babington is Safe, Caring, Effective, Well-led and Responsive to patients needs. Belper and the surrounding areas NEED Babington Hospital to remain as it is; an NHS service for local people. If these services could be replicated or improved upon, in an equally accessible local place, consideration to such a plan may be possible.

Most patients are in hospital due to lifestyle, so it is essential that provision of tasty basic real food, as recommended world-wide, is available at each meal to ensure quick recovery and release of patients with improved health guidance. After operations and treatments it is essential that the digestive tract work correctly, and this is best maintained by correct eating, rather than laxatives. Plenty of salads, vegetables, and vegetable soups with fruit and smoothies should be always available and encouraged. Pastries and cakes should not be available. Denatured white flour, sugar and salt should be replaced by oats, treacle and dried fruits etc.

It is unhealthy for young children too be working adult hours. My reasons for this petition as follows. In other European countries like Finland, Norway etc children do not start school until the age of 7 and these countries are higher academic achievers than England. The physiological effects of these long hours that primary children are doing is very dangerous for their short term and long term health. For example, as an adult. We all know what it fells like to wake up early and come home late. Our stress levels increase in the start of the day. If we count how many hours our children are at school sitting behind a desk or on the dirty floor is inhuman. Also they might be forced to play outside in the cold weather and are only allowed in when it is raining heavily. Ofsted should not be grading a primary on their attendance because the very idea that the government are assuming, that missed days at school will have a drastic impact on the child's future is absurd. No one knows what the future holds. As parents I do believe that under the UN convention of children's right, we are the representatives of these humans and we need to get out of the out of date policies that are still in placed. So please help to make a difference to the education our children need. Thank you!

Salford Royal wants to close down its kitchen and get rid of the chefs that prepare food for patients freshly every day. They plan to bring in a company to provide chilled or even frozen food from elsewhere. The hospital says it needs to spend money to upgrade the kitchen but with so-called 'cook-chill' food costing more in other Greater Manchester hospitals it's clear that the refurbishment would pay for itself - without ready meals being inflicted on patients. And ready meals are less popular than freshly cooked food according to patient surveys. Good nutrition is vital for recovery - with a fully working kitchen onsite the Royal can respond to its patients' needs. But once the kitchen is closed down it could be gone for good. Keep the Royal cooking!

GP practice is in decline in Hastings. Appointments are already limited and waiting times long, and why is this? There simply aren't enough doctors. Deficit in training doctors, the unfair terms of junior doctor contracts and the unattractive proposition of a general practitioners workload in comparison to their salaries has meant that there is a shortage in GPs. The lack of doctors and the state of health and healthcare services in a town as affected by poverty as Hastings, should be a priority. Today, checking local job listings, I found 12 positions for GPs in Hastings in just the first search page. Multiple practices in the area are short of doctors and are advertising to no avail, and a few of the remaining practices are currently offering "inadequate" services, not through incompetence but that there is not enough doctors to cover the workload. 5 Practices have been taken over by IMH, a private healthcare provider, these practices are also struggling to recruit doctors and provide care to standard for their approximately 20,000 patients. We need to act now, as the worst end result of this is not privatization but that while conditions are worsening and there is a paucity of care thousands of patients with serious morbidities could deteriorate, unable to be seen. A&Es are not the answer for these people as they are already overloaded and waiting times in Hastings are particularly high. We need to make a stand and we need to do it now, we need to tell the Government that we do not accept these standards of care.
