This is important because if pro life protests target abortion clinics it could cause a woman who wishes to seek an abortion, to be too scared to attend appointments because of fear of judgement and condemnation. This could have disastrous consequences for her. Abortion is legal in this country therefore these protests are infringing on a woman's right to choose. This is important because these protests invade on a safe space. A space that is much needed for women

In the UK we are being edged to 'obedience' at all costs, by our media and by the way we are being divided and taught to hate each other. WE need to act together to protect our rights and liberties. Just a couple of examples follow- please read. 'The multinational security company G4S failed to maintain basic human rights standards and protect asylum seekers from harm, the complaint lodged to the Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development.' There has been massive "ankle tagging" fraud by BOTH companies. 'Inappropriate' youth restraint where 14 CHILDREN were assaulted (fines were made against them) and were 'found responsible for the outbreak of violence at Manos Island detention centre but never held to account' (The Telegraph, The Guardian). The proposal to allow powers of arrest to Serco and G4S, private companies who have broken laws and acted inhumanely sends a shudder down the spine. Not only does the privatisation of 'security' smack of fascism- these faceless companies are for profit- not for our welfare The powers that government award themselves in suggesting this go way above their remit- many of the government have interests in these (and other privatising companies) but once again who asked us? We really need to make some noise and be in agreement that we won't let this happen. Let the government go back to the money tree and find the required amounts to recruit and train more police- because if we need more 'security' then the providers should belong to the UK, not be in private profit making hands. Following the appalling sights around the world and most recently the heinous operations in Spain against the Catalonian's and their democratic rights- the image of men hidden by full face 'protective' helmets is enough to make us realise what could happen here. Once they have this power it can not be taken back- who wants to live under the threat of those guys turning up whenever we 'disobey'? Think it couldn't happen here? Want to wait and find out- or spend a few moments to tick this petition showing disapproval and demanding a great big 'NO' to this proposal.

The Spanish police’s behaviours were violent and totally disproportionate. This was not policing by consent. The primary role of the police should be to protect and serve the people, not act as a para military arm of which ever government is in power. The events were unacceptable in a western democracy. There needs to be some form of accountability, otherwise a potentially terrifying precedence has been set.

It's important, because he is awesome, he deserves to be recognised for the work he has done and continues to do, because of him, people are aware of the horrors of the Yulin dog festival and can help to make a difference, because of him people laugh and feel good about themselves.

Richard had a riding accident which left him in a wheelchair with spinal injuries 4 and a half years ago. He has to leave his BCC tenancy farm where he has lived for 46 years as his father has died and he was not allowed to take over the tenancy. He has unpredictable weakness in all limbs and needs 3 people to do any physio safely. He was only given 1 hour of physio every 4 weeks by the NHS and needed amulance transport to get to SMH for it so it was cancelled after a few weeks as he was too tired by the time he got there for it to be worthwile. So his friends and family who all live in North Marston or within 5 miles have set up a rota and each evening we get him out of his chair and walk a few steps and do physio on his hands which are like claws if physio is missed for a few days. Richard has suffered from sever depression since the accident and this bit of respite and regular visits has given him a new lease of life. He is in an electric wheelchair so cannot use public transport. His two small sons also live within North Marston and he loves to go in is wheelchair to school and see them... all this will be denied if he gets moved out o the vilage. He has a live in carer due to his dependency and cannot move himself or take care of any basic needs without her help. There is a VAHT property in North Marston tht has been empty for 9 months. It needs some adaptions but as I understand it grants are available It doesn't currently have a wet room but nor does his current property as he was refused a grant to adapt it by BCC.

it is important for individuals whom find themselves homeless to not be criminalised within the local authority they are homeless and be treated with dignity, compassion and care.

These are amazing carers who maintain and promote independence for people who have various and complex care and social needs. Our assistance dogs care for us 24/7 who should be legally recognised by the government and save the government millions a year in care charges. The government needs to offer people the right to be able to claim for these costs to be able to keep us independent and motivated and socialised within the community. The average homecare cost is £200 per week the average cost of an ADUK is about £50 per week. Some more progressive councils allow for these amazing carers to be honoured and covered by a direct payment, whilst other councils take the guideline discriptor of carer ( meaning human ) as literal- this should be addressed to show the change since it was written. It will also help with the crisis in the health and social care situation.

Reading Borough Council are threatening to knock down the Central Mural and sell the building to commercial developers. The Mural is an important both as a piece of Art and as a memorial to the lives of people significant in African, Afro-American, Caribbean and black British History. It reminds us (accurately) that some pharaohs were black. (If it is ever extended in size it could now usefully add a major Russian Novelist and an American President!). It would be a huge loss to us if we lose it and an insult to the many Reading Residents from Barbados, Jamaica, East and West Africa and elsewhere. Recent statistics show an increase from 1/5 to 1/4 children in poverty, meaning an approximate 260,000 children are officially classed as in poverty. Despite the lack of publicity on the issue, this epidemic affecting dozens of families nationwide, and we need your support to convince local MSPs to consider the small cause. Spare change of £5 per child to create a big change, taking hundreds of families out of the grip of poverty.

The UK is one of less than 20 countries in the world to recruit 16 year olds, it is the only country in Europe and the only permanent member of the United Nations. This groups ourselves together with countries with little respect for human rights such as Iran, Zimbabwe and North Korea. The army recruits the very youngest solders with the intention of preparing them specifically for front line roles- where they are over represented. This has been questioned by international charities such as 'Child Soldiers International' and needs to stop! The battlefield is not a place for our young teanagers!

This is greatly important as Burmese leader Aung San Suu Kyi has been denying any mistreatment of the Rohingya muslims. Whereas in fact the situation is like a ethnic cleansing with mass murders occuring effortlessly by soldiers. A breach of basic human rights is an understatement as the Rohingya are being slaughtered soley on their choice of religion, which is atrocious. If our MP can bring this situation to eyes of Parliament, aid can be sent to refugees fleeing Burma and ultimately the government can add to the international pressure being applied on Burma to open their borders so aid can be sent for the oppressed still hiding and living within the country.
