• UK Devolution - Cross Party Royal Commission on Constitutional Reform
Because of their nature, political parties will try to control this process so that it is in their best interest. The referendum in Scotland has unveiled a level of mistrust in Westminster. A commission at the request of Her Majesty The Queen would give people faith in the process.

  • Unchained Unicorn
The Unicorn is a symbol of Scotland. As one of the four free-thinking nation states of the UK, it should not be shackled. This implies that the unicorn is a kept animal or slave against it's will. The passport is intrinsic to identity, and the visual symbolism of a chained creature is not representative of the Nation of Scotland or it's people.

  • Votes at 16 in all Elections
I am 16, and I have just cast my first ever vote in the Scottish Independence Referendum as did 100,000 other 16 and 17 year olds. It is vital that we continue this fantastic engagement by extending the franchise to all 16 and 17 year olds for every election - starting with the General Election in 2015. The British Youth Council have led a coalition of organisations to deliver Votes at 16 - you can check out the website at http://www.votesat16.org/.

  • A Devolved Parliament For England
Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland all have a Devolved Parliament. England does NOT have a Devolved Parliament. This is a democratic defecit. It is extremely unfair on the electorate in England and requires to be remedied for the sake of democratic justice. In Scotland democracy was energised with a huge turnout for the Independence Referendum. Whatever your view, it has to be a good thing to have a substantial increase in the electorate taking an interest in the democratic process and becoming engaged in democracy. Hence this petition to secure a Referendum to establish if there is a demand for a Devolved English Parliament. Of critical importance is to ask the electorate whether they wish a properly Devolved Parliament or England OUTSIDE of Westminster in one of England's great cities. Or if the electorate would settle for a lesser two day a week second best effort using a spare room in Westminster? If Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales have proper dedicated devolved parliaments, then why should England have anything less than a new purpose built Devolved Parliament For England away from Westminster? The view of the petitioners is that Westminster should become a Federal Parliament for the United Kingdom, and that all four countries in the United Kingdom should have separate self governing devolved parliaments. A Devolved Parliament For England should be built in one of the great cities of England. With all due respect to London, this should be in one of the major regions of England. Further details: www.unitedstatesofbritain.org/ If, or when we reach 100,000 signatories to this Petition it will become eligible for debate in the House of Commons:- http://www.parliament.uk/e-Petitions-and-the-Backbench-Business-Committee

  • Say no to the non-democratic ‘vow’ to Scotland
Say no to the non-democratic ‘vow’ to Scotland. In recent weeks all our leading political party leaders have agreed to give the people of Scotland a much better deal per person than the rest of the British public. Regardless of which way you sit on the yes no divide is it fair that a minority proportion of the British public have a substantially larger amount of the government purse spent on them than the majority of the British public. Already Scots have free university places (at£9k per year), free prescriptions, 15% more spend per capita etc. than the rest of Brits and now without asking parliament, our MP’s or the British public our political leaders have promised the ‘Scots’ even more. Bribery or not why should an English, Welsh or Irish person should receive far less support from our government than a Scottish person? If you believe the recent offer is undemocratic and unfair to the rest of Britain then please sign this petition so that we can lobby the government not to implement this 'give away' they have ‘vowed’ on behalf of the rest of the British public

  • Increase Britain's State pension in line with British prosperity or inflation whichever the higher.
Its important because our elderly people should be able to live in dignity in their old age, and not have to endure means testing for State handouts. Tony Blair's New Labour Government in 1997 did not reverse Margaret Thatcher's 1980 State pensions policy.
