Improve the conditions for EU-bound migrants in Libyan 'detention' centresEach night, hundreds of migrants board smuggler owned rubber dinghies to take the perilous journey from Libya to Europe. These migrants either: a) Drown in the Mediterranean sea, as the dinghies are not built to support the long, dangerous journey, packed to the brim with migrants. b) Arrive in Italy where they not currently permitted to be. c) Are caught by Libyan coast guards who transport them back to Libya to be put in 'detention' centres. These detention centres are awful places, in which many human rights are broken. Migrants eat, sleep and live on crowded floors where they do not have enough space to move around. UK prisons have far better living conditions than those in Libyan 'Detention Centres', yet these migrants are innocent people. One lady interviewed by Ross Kemp, in his Extreme World series said that she received no hospital care when giving birth and was instead left to give birth in the toilet. The migrants in these centres are often fleeing war torn countries and are now living in conditions worse than they have left. They have no contact with the outside world, so they are left to live out their days in these awful places. Article 5 of the Human Rights Act, Right to liberty and security, is clearly being broken. From the following quote: "Given its role in the conflict and subsequent destabilisation in Libya, the UK has a particular responsibility in relation to migrants and refugees, an issue which has been exacerbated by the collapse of the Libyan state. " (Paragraph 105 of https://publications.parliament.uk/…/cms…/cmfaff/119/119.pdf) It is clear that the UK government agrees with its own responsibility to help these migrants. But what an earth is being done about it? Ideally, I think one the solutions should be: For all countries that are unwilling to accept these migrants to contribute to the creation of 'peace centres'. 'Peace centres' would strive to provide a bed for each migrant within Libya whilst being sustainable in ensuring that migrants can get back to their home countries. Sustainability would be achieved by having an on site lawyers office who will fight to get these people back to their home countries and by allowing residents to work within the centre, by doing chores to support the upkeep of the centre, all of which would be paid work. There will also be education to prevent these people from getting on boats again as it is a risk to their money, safety and well being. By signing this petition, we can encourage the UK government and other EU countries to do more to improve conditions within Libyan migrant detention centres.21 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Jodie Hemsill

I want all MP'S to work for a week in their local A&E department.I think the only way to bring home the implications of financial restraints and the decisions MP's make on the NHS is to see how it works in real time. It would offer an invaluable insight to the people who seem to make decisions based purely on reading a spread sheet. How can it be right for people who have no experience of working in the NHS or have no medical training be allowed to make decisions on how this wonderful institution is run. I'm sure they have an army of expert advisors, but following a recent visit to my local A&E I'm sorry to say the NHS is broken. Until these people see how it works from a personal point of view they have no chance of fixing it. If you are happy to see the NHS fall into a deep dark hole never to be seen again. Just sit back and watch. Should you wish to give the Government a kick up the backside and take some action, please sign this petition. It must be better than doing nothing! Thank you for taking the time. Chris Hirst.26 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Christopher Hirst

Devolve policing from Westminster to the Welsh assemblyIt seems ludicrous that Westminster is considering devolving policing to Greater Manchester, a region of England, yet completely brush the issue to the side when it comes to Wales. Scotland too has their own criminal justice system, so how does it make any logical sense not to devolve this area of government to Wales?82 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Ifan Jones

Stop the sell off of 'NHS Professionals'.Private agencies providing nurses , doctors and other health workers charge roughly 15 to 30 % more to provide 'agency' and locum staff. This represents a huge burden on the NHS finances , especially so given staff shortages generally. Recent news reports suggest that Jeremy Hunt has proposed a sell off of the NHS own in-house agency, NHSP, (NHS Professionals),leaving the Department of Health with a small minority share of any new company. Furthermore it would seem that this is being undertaken at a time of year when. Parliamentary scrutiny is less likely to occur, being 'slipped in ' during the summer recess. At the very least it is important that this is now put on hold to give an opportunity for plans to receive full public scrutiny. NHSP is an important arm of the NHS, providing valuable services in house and saving the NHS and taxpayer large sums of money. At a time when private agencies themselves have been subject to concern, the role of NHSP should be strengthened and not undermined. NB "NHS Professionals (NHSP) helps the health service in England tackle its staffing crisis by arranging for doctors and nurses on its books to cover shifts, to avoid gaps in rotas that could threaten patient safety. Labour has asked the National Audit Office to look into why Jeremy Hunt, the health secretary, is selling off a profitable and effective company owned by the Department of Health". Restore A&E 24/7 at Weston General HospitalCurrently A&E at Weston General is closed between 10pm and 8am. Seriously ill and injured people are being taken over 20 miles to Bristol or Taunton. This puts patients health under grave risk and fatalities are inevitable due to the time it will take to get people to a functioning A&E.....if an ambulance can be found.24 of 100 SignaturesCreated by kevin roy

Keep brexit-mixed marriages together.Partners in brexit-mixed marriages don't know if their family will be torn apart by political horse-trading. The stress of not knowing what the future holds for them is unneccesary. Giving them dual citizenship is an humane solution and is the easiest thing to set up. It avoids creating special categories, procedures and measures to administer.17 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Ian James

Suspension of arms sales to Saudi ArabiaIn Yemen the epidemic of cholera is killing one child every 10 minutes and the death rate will increase. The war with Saudi Arabia prevents the deployment by external charities of medical and food supplies. The ban is intended to demonstrate that the British people hold Saudi Arabia responsible for the worsening situation. Britain shares this responsibility through arms deals and the situation brings discredit on our people on an historic scale. The people must express their horror of this situation.52 of 100 SignaturesCreated by David Mullen
