Dear Ed Miliband, though the right wing media and the Tory party directly have pushed hard to drive a wedge between a hung-Parliament Labour Party and the SNP, and you yourself have publicly spoken against this in inexplicably strong terms, we British citizens from a wide range of parties, and even more people from none, who share broad 'old' Labour (not Tory-lite 'New Labour') and progressive green humane values call on you to GRAB THE OPPORTUNITY TO REPRESENT THIS REAL BRITISH MAINSTREAM, AND WORK TOGETHER WITH THE SNP, GREENS AND OTHERS TO LOCK THE TORIES OUT OF GOVERNMENT. Britain cannot stand 5 more years of demolition of all we value most in this country: - 'Private Profit, Public Cost': the ideological dismantling of the welfare state into private crony hands (even many MPs have snouts in the trough) must be reversed. - The American model of a privatised NHS and other public services is a disaster that only serves a wealthy elite and leaves citizens dangerously unprotected, Guarantee a Public NHS for perpetuity. - Green Action Now: stop the dangerous fracking cash-grab and tackle the fossil-fuel lobby - Internationally: Britain must be able to act Independently of the US, work for Peace and Diplomacy rather than supporting further wars, and reduce the elite-enriching proliferation of arms and insecurity. - The Undemocratic Power of the Media spreading a false and corrupting impression of public consensus (on issues like war, immigration and the NHS, say, let alone the SNP!) must be challenged, not bowed down to: how can people, let alone politicians like yourself, begin to make the right decisions for this country when the information we are fed and peer-pressured to keep in line with is squeezed into such a narrow right-leaning frame. Ed, there is a rare opportunity for Labour to form a progressive alliance with a range of sane progressive parties - SNP, Green and others - to achieve all these things and keep Cameron and his Eton chums out of No. 10. Please find the courage of your convictions to rise above the fake consensus scare-mongering of the 'mainstream' media and listen to and represent all of the Anti-Austerity and Humane Real Mainstream in England, Wales, N Ireland and, yes Ed, Scotland. The British state will no longer be able adequately to protect the public from criminals and the growing threat of homegrown terrorists if the Conservatives push through their plans to cut further into police numbers. The coalition has already slashed the police budget by around 26% over the last five years, at a cost of 35,000 officers, and has signaled its intention to maintain that rate of cuts. New figures from the House of Commons library show that if Tory spending cuts announced in last year’s autumn statement – which would lead to public spending falling to just 35% of GDP – were applied equally across un-ringfenced departments, they would lead to the loss of 29,900 police officers and 6,700 community support officers by 2019/20, bringing the ratio of officers to population to its LOWEST level since records began. David Cameron says "But crime has fallen". I think you will find "Recorded Crime" has fallen. This is because of a loss of faith in the police by the public to report crime, officers managing to tactically write a job off as their workload is already piled sky high and with response times dropping massively the incident is normally done and dusted before an officer is ever on scene. The police rely on metal "Operation in progress" signs instead of physically patrolling an area as they don't have the resources. Villages at left in harms way with a response of 20 minutes at times due to shutting local police stations and removing the community's sense of being "safe". Unpaid special constables are being relied on to back up the front line, they are merely paving over the cracks as they are under-trained. The police is at breaking point, stop the cuts, before its too late.

The letter was shown to have been written by owners of small UK businesses, instead many of the "owners" were non existant, no longer owners of the businesses, or simply denied that they ever signed anything. To halt the warming of the planet which is getting dangerously near to the 2 degree 'tipping point' unless something is done in the next 5 to 10 years. This is a petition set up by 12 year old 'Laurel' who presents her appeal at cagw-uk.org. Rightly she is concerned about her generations future if we continue to ignore the warning signs of climate change. Not doing so gives an unfair advantage to the parties 'chosen'. Politics has moved on since the debates were 'agreed'. The BBC needs to take account of this move to include wider opinion and the great possibility of a hung parliament. To focus on the three parties chosen would be tantamount to vote-rigging and certainly shows favouritism. Let the people decide and give them ALL of the facts and range of parties.

Lord Greville Janner is a suspected serial paedophile who has abused children with impunity for many decades. Protected by the political elite, numerous inquiries have been buried, case files lost or stolen and now he's using his health to escape justice yet again. Repeatedly they have decided not to proceed with charges against him. Why? Why is he being protected and the rights of victims ignored? We need to send a clear message out that justice will be done regardless of your position in the political elite of this country. DEMAND HE BE PUNISHED FOR HIS CRIMES.

You can only have a medical abortion in Northern Ireland. It is only done at a independent clinic in Belfast, and only up to nine weeks in the pregnancy. Women should have the right to decide what to do with their bodies. Stopping abortion here is forcing women to fly elsewhere to get an abortion or forcing them to have a child they do not want, or in some cases seek out illegal means. A pregnancy does not only affect a woman physically but affects a woman's education, her employment, and her entire family and social life. Preventing women having the right of abortion makes women carry all the adversity and blame for unwanted pregnancies. Motherhood should be a choice.

An amount of £100billion has been touted to replace the UK's Trident Nuclear deterrent. It is important to scrap this for two reasons: 1) The amount of money involved is vast and can be spent in other much more needed areas, such as schools and hospitals. More importantly this money can be used to fund the British Armed Forces and buy much needed equipment. 2) We no longer need a nuclear deterrent. Wars and battles are not fought with nuclear weapons but with men and modern equipment. Any future deterrent should include a well equipped and modern army.

The Austerity programme the last coalition Government implemented, has hit the poorest and most vulnerable in our society the hardest. You might have noticed that the economic crisis and the recession have left a massive hole in the UK’s public finances. Frontline services and jobs are at risk. Many other developed and developing countries face a similar struggle. The financial sector is responsible for a big part of the mess we're in. Abolish QMV and re-instate the right of individual member states to veto! The Treaty of Lisbon provides for a blocking minority composed of at least four Member States representing over 35% of the EU population. Until 31 March 2017, any Member State may request, on a case by case basis, that a decision is taken in accordance with the rules in force before 1 November 2014 (i.e. in accordance with the qualified majority as defined by the Treaty of Nice). In simple terms, this means that unless serious action is taken in the next 2 years, any opinion or decision made by a member state can be blocked by another. In the context of the UK, it will be very unlikely we will ever be able to leave the EU after this date, as currently, we would need the permission of 10 member states! This will progress the plan of a European Superstate! This must stop now!

Austerity cuts are aimed at the poorest in society but the cuts affect the quality of life of all of us. This includes the cuts to Welfare, Public Services, and the recently announced sell off affordable rented accommodation in the Housing Association sector. We are NOT all in this together. N.B. OECD figures show that since 1979 the top 1% of population have increased their wealth from 9% to 23% of the total. The bottom 20% have reduced to 0.6% of the wealth. Top rate of tax in 1978 was 83% now it is a flat 40%. OECD figures also prove that the less inequality in a society, the more successful it is economically.
