• Swimming Pool for Market Rasen
The people in this area have been asking for a swimming pool for nearly 40 years. Together the community have fundraised for a pool but this money seems to have been spent on other projects. We want the council to listen to us and give us the services we actually want, not the ones they think we need. We already have a number of 'dry' services, what we really need is a pool. Swimming is great for general wellbeing, it de-stresses and relaxes, it improves sleep and offers a great alternative to those who may have long term injury or illness and are unable to use a gym or take a class.

  • Get speed cameras outside Field End School
This petition is very important as driver's that speed down Field End Road are putting our children in serious danger, as well as us parents. A few serious accidents have happened within the last 6 months, could've been avoided had the driver's stuck to the speed limit.

  • Save Five Acres site
Five Acres is about to lose it's leisure centre, forest theatre and playing fields. There is a local nursery school also situated on the site. If the site was passed to Forest of Dean district council and West Dean parish council, they could then seek the necessary funding and partners to develop a new facility- which will increase both prosperity and social capital to the area. Thousands of children have learned to swim in the centre’s pool, the local primary schools still use the facility for children's swimming lessons, both the Berry Hill Rugby Club and Broadwell Youth Football Club use the playing fields for games and training, the Forest of Dean Athletics Club is based on the site. Not to mention the various other sport and leisure clubs that use the facilities on a weekly basis. Without a leisure centre on their doorstep, many people will be forced to travel miles just to keep fit, local children risk losing their right to school swimming lessons as part of the national curriculum, and hundreds of children will have lost the opportunity to play both rugby and football for the local youth teams. Will you sign the petition before the decision about Five Acres leisure centre’s future slips out of our hands?

  • Protect common land in England and Wales - Block the legal loopholes
The British love common land. Although all common land is owned by someone, in the hearts of the British people it will forever belong to them. People are free to visit, free to roam, and free to sit and stare. These are very precious freedoms, even more so because common land is a natural, unspoiled, environment that everyone can enjoy and where threatened wildlife and plants can survive and thrive. But land owners, cash-strapped councils, commercial organisations and other organisations, are now trying to exploit our common land for its financial value, to the detriment of its natural state, the threatened species that inhabit it and, of course, our free access to it. The Commons Act 2006, which applies in England and Wales, requires anyone constructing buildings, ditches, embankments, or hard surfaces, or putting structures or fences, on common land, to make an application to the Planning Inspectorate for consent. There are certain exceptions, but these relate only to traditional countryside uses or the direct conservation of the common. The public, and environmental bodies, are consulted on every application. However, if anyone chooses NOT to make an application for consent, there is nothing that the Planning Inspectorate, or the Secretary of State for the Environment, can do about it. Officials need to be able to demand applications for consent for works on common land, stop works that do not have consent, levy sanctions for non-compliance, and much more. The provisions of the Commons Act 2006 MUST be reinforced by the Secretary of State for the Environment, to protect and preserve all our common land in England and Wales, and to leave it in a fit and natural state for future generations.

  • Allow Mrs Caldwell to access medicinal cannabis oil for her son with severe epilepsy
There is undue suffering and disability caused by preventing patients to medicinal cannabis. In light of accumulating scientific evidence that medicinal cannabis is not only alleviating pain and suffering but can also treat severe medical conditions, like severe epilepsy, it amounts to medical negligence to forbid access to treatment. Furthermore, it violates one's human rights to accessing life saving medication. The UK is a progressive country and needs to change the law to account for the scientific evidence available.

  • Campaign to reduce the speed limit on Ynysybwl road to 30mph
A recent accident involving a school girl being knocked down and seriously injured has highlighted further local people’s views about the safety of the main road. Several school buses drop off in the area and the area is filled with residential housing and a primary school. The speed limit of 40mph is unacceptable and needs reducing to 30mph. Traffic calming measures need to be introduced.

  • STOP THE CLOSURE OF DRUMPELLIER PLANT NURSERY!
North Lanarkshire Council intend to close the plant nursery in September 2018. This would be a great loss for the whole of North Lanarkshire, and would mean putting plant containers, bedding and floral displays out to tender to the private sector. Also, this would put an end to job placements and horticulture in this area, as well as the loss of visitors in Coatbridge. The nursery has over 100 years of service within this authority, and is used by several vulnerable groups, who would no longer have access to the support they get here. We recommend the council steps in to stop this closure and keeps the complex open to the public and available to the community. More than 1300 people have already supported our campaign by signing the petition available in the cafe at Drumpellier Country Park, please sign this petition to show the strength of support in the community for retaining this service.

  • Keep M&S Newton Abbot open!
It is a much valued and popular focus in the shopping centre, for both food and outlet bargains. If the store closes it will mean a very long journey for many locals to access their nearest M&S at Torbay.

  • Save Lincoln House of Fraser (Binns)
This is a profitable, long-standing, socially important resource for the local community. It provides a good range of products and services, owns it's own lease, and is a much-loved part of a vibrant city with great staff who always make people welcome. There seems to be no economic or social case for its closure.

  • Grant Endurance Ojo asylum
In 2011 I moved to the UK from Nigeria. After denouncing my membership in a gang my two brothers were killed for revenge. My life would be at risk if I returned. In 2012 I claimed asylum. Ever since then my application has been outstanding and the Home Office have refused to make a decision on my application. They know I have a young family here in the UK and I’m struggling because I can’t work and pay tax to support my family. Everyone in my family is British, my partner had 3 kids in her previous relationship and we have a daughter. I'm the one looking after everyone ever since she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Several letters and proof of our relationship have been sent to the Home Office, but they refuse to take this into consideration. My situation has gone from bad to worse. This is destroying me physically and mentally I don't wish this situation on anybody. Please make a decision and grant me asylum.
