Pet owners. The elderly. Parents. Shift workers. We know the cost of a bit of fun. It's not just one evening. It starts at the beginning of October, and goes on and on, to Christmas, new year, and so on. Animals cannot tell that this is fun. It sounds like war. It sounds bad. It sounds scary.

If the Northamptonshire Police Force Control Centre (FCC) which handles 999 and 101 calls as well as police radio transmissions is relocated from the Wootton Hall Police HQ in Northampton into another County, with it will disappear all of the local knowledge, experience and expertise that currently benefits both Police Officers and members of the public here in Northamptonshire. The local police union, Unison, believe that this essential part of front line policing should NOT be moved to a location remote from its parent Force, or put into the hands of the notorious G4S or any other private company who will run it as a business rather than for the benefit of the people of Northamptonshire. The staff of the FCC are rightly proud of the professional service they continue to provide, and it is to their great credit that they put their concerns for the safety and wellbeing of the vulnerable and distressed members of the public who will be affected by these changes before their own worries about job security and terms and conditions of service.

In April of 2016 the government, on recommendation by The Centre for Research in Social Policy, intend to raise the National Living Wage to £7.20 p/h with the objective of increasing it to £9.00 p/h by 2020. As a worker earning a similar amount to the 2020 target I feel from both personal experience and by listening to the struggles faced by fellow workers that the term is a misnomer and would be much more accurately described as the 'Subsistence Wage'. Definition; The lowest wage a worker and their family can survive on.

We are all human beings regardless of our circumstances. Please Tower Hamlets Council show some compassion this winter. There is a huge housing crisis in this country which is reflected in the number of homeless people on the streets. No one deserves to be sleeping outside at any time of the year, but especially as the weather gets colder and wetter.

The Railway Lake was formed after the extraction of gravel by Tarmac plc in the 1990s and 2000s on land owned by Trinity College, Cambridge. Local people were promised, in order to secure their co-operation, that, after the work was completed, the pit would be converted to a Lake and an area of natural beauty and quiet water for everyone to enjoy. Now Newark and Sherwood District Council want to allow the Lake to be developed and to change its use, to allow sailing, wind-surfing and sporting use on the Lake and development by the side of it. This will involve the erection of buildings, creation of an access road, installation of services and the construction of a septic tank. These facilities already exist nearby on an adjacent Lake, less than a mile away. If allowed, the whole nature of the Railway Lake will be lost for ever. Local people don't want this, but the Council is not listening. Please help us to show that areas of natural beauty in the countryside have a value and need to be preserved for everyone to enjoy.

Stop the accidents in home displays, and distress to people and animals.

A group of Firstsite staff are leading a campaign to change the proposed staff restructure at the gallery, to enable the continuation of the positive changes that have begun to take place. We are calling for this rethink so we can protect jobs for people, particularly local people, instead of relying on volunteers to make up the majority of the customer facing staff. The cutbacks to the current staff structure will adversely affect the visitor experience and have a negative impact on the diverse and interesting programme of events, particularly within the learning department and the engagement of children and young people, currently one of the strongest areas Firstsite has with engaging with the community. The restructure addresses necessary financial savings that need to be made, but the proposed changes will result in short term savings, rather than creating a sustainable organisation that can generate income going forward. This will also perpetuate an unequal working and earning structure within the organisation. These changes will increase pressure on the remaining staff, many of whom already work outside of their job requirements, whilst offering a more than generous wage for the Director of the gallery.

There are so many buildings not used in the Liverpool area which could be used over winter for the growing number of homeless people in Liverpool. The winter months bring so many fatalities which could be avoided if people were allowed to sleep inside. Ex- Manchester United star Gary Neville has opened the doors to his building in Manchester just for the winter months and also has offered jobs to homeless people, when he plans to renevate it next summer. These people just need a chance and a bit of hope that the world cares about them, it could make all the difference, please sign.

Birmingham has one of the highest rates of homelessness in the country, three times the national average. Despite this, we have the space that could house every homeless person in Birmingham but bureaucracy stops the council doing just this!! It's inexcusable when we have so many empty buildings. Birmingham City Council - please open your empty buildings to the homeless in winter. Just a few years ago, there were fewer than 10 rough sleepers in Birmingham on an average per night. If someone lives and works in the city, there's a good chance that they will see that many just on the way home now. Birmingham City Council, you seriously have to address the root causes of homelessness however in the meantime, let's give rough sleepers some shelter at least over the frigid winter months.
