BAN BALACLAVASThis is important as we need to go about our daily business without fear or harm. Very recently an elderly man was attacked whilst walking his dog on a busy beach and these balaclava gangs are now trying to control our roads by preventing anyone passing them.13 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Lynn Watt

Banks: Stop taking advantage of loyal customersDespite the Bank of England base rate increasing to 4.25%, most savings accounts have an interest rate of less than 1%. As most of the country struggles with the current cost of living crisis, banks should be sharing their profits with their loyal customers, instead of pocketing all the profits for themselves. But here's the thing - this issue is in the news right now, and banks have been put under the spotlight. MPs recently questioned them in Westminster, and now the FCA - the body who regulates banks - have said they'll consider intervening if the issue continues. So banks will be feeling the heat - but we need to ramp up the pressure. How? Well right now the voice of the public - their customers - is missing. A huge petition, signed by tens of thousands of us, could be the first step in sending a strong message to banks that we will not stand for this unfair practice. Together, we can turn up the heat and make sure banks prioritise customers over their own profits.82,759 of 100,000 Signatures

Urge Local Councils to save the Fire Brigade MuseumThe Fire Brigade Museum is established as a not for profit organisation, run by volunteers, ensuring all revenue supports the objectives of the Museum. The Museum exists to deliver 7 social objectives: 1) Support 999 workers suffering mental illness such as PTSD by support groups & use of revenue to pay for psychological treatment required which isn't readily/quickly available to prevent suicide and loss of career and help in times of financial hardship caused by such events. 2) Support young people 12-25 who have severe confidence issues, additional learning needs or mental illness as they transition from education by offering a safe and supportive environment where they can access Apprenticeships, work placements & jobs among the many different tasks in a museum from restoration trades, catering, marketing, administration, conservation & education. This will prevent suicide & give young people a chance to develop into a career that may have not been open to them due to their conditions, in an environment where they are understood & supported to thrive at their pace. 3) Combat social isolation through volunteering programmes in the Museum from guides, to outreach, to fundraising. To hold a 'person library' where those who are lonely can book some time to chat with a volunteer. 4) To become the National Museum of Firefighting, recording and preserving all aspects of the Fire Service, supporting National Curriculum subjects such as the Great Fire of London and the Blitz. We will provide an immersive experience of these historical occurrences, handling the equipment and uniforms that were there or building modern replicas of historic Firefighting equipment which can be used and demonstrated as accurate portrayals and displays. 5) To champion diversity, inclusion and anti-bullying within the emergency services by educating on the past and by demonstrating inclusive behaviours. 6) To educate on safety through a range of learning experiences, that support the safety and prevention campaigns of Statutory bodies, Governing organisations and the emergency services to prevent injury and to aid these bodies in delivering safety messages across the UK. 7) To actively seek technology and practices that reduce carbon emissions and make this available to partner organisations across the UK. We will educate on the impact of fire and other incident types on the environment, encouraging prevention and environmental protection. We have been given notice by TVBC and our Landlord to vacate our current premises by the end of May 2023. We are urgently fundraising for an alternative premises to prevent closure. Hampshire County Council and Test Valley Borough Council have funds that can be used to help us.1,008 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Antony Hurle

Increase the lifetime ISA first home cap in line with rising house pricesThe Lifetime ISA is turning into a financial trap for young people. Currently the savings and bonus can only be used to buy a property up to the value of £450,000. However the average house price for first time buyers in London and the South East is at least £500,000. This property value cap even applies to buying a small proportion of a property on a shared ownership scheme. This means that to buy a home the government will charge you a penalty fee of 25% to withdraw your money as your house does not qualify for the deal. (In real terms, this works out at way above the 25% bonus that is paid and eats into your original savings. Which is a situation I now face. I am set to lose money on the very little I have managed to pull together.) In the midst of a cost of living and housing crisis this is completely unacceptable. The treasury is currently profiting from people struggling to save and get a foot on the property ladder with an ill-designed financial product. This limit should be reviewed immediately to ensure that people can use the bonus towards their first homes. Or the treasury should consider waiving the penalty for anyone in the London area who wants to buy a first home. Going forward the threshold should be regularly reviewed in line with increases in the housing market. This is the absolute minimum that the government should consider reviewing to support people to get on the housing ladder. It means that even schemes like shared ownership are inaccessible for people like me in the south of England. We are in the midst of a cost of living and housing crisis. The treasury is currently profiting from people struggling to save and get a foot on the property ladder with an ill-designed financial product. The government is unwilling to provide adequate social and affordable housing, or consider rent caps. If private ownership is the only way we the majority of the population is able to access housing reviewing this product is the absolute minimum that the government should consider. Even schemes like shared ownership are inaccessible for people like me in the south of England. The Lifetime ISA is meant to help young people get somewhere. But instead I’m now financially trapped.14 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Charlotte Thorpe

Stop the proposed redevelopment of Mansfield Bowling Club into a 5 Floor Private Care HomeThe development would create a 78-bed private care home in a massive and dominating mini hospital building, operating 24 hours. The proposed development: • Is massive 5 floors, including basement, in a single dominating building • Will cause irreversible harm to the Conservation Area • Is contrary to the Neighbourhood Plan • Provides no housing of any sort, including affordable housing • Damages protected open space with no proper plan for public access nor management • Will cause pollution and much increased traffic in a neighbourhood with three busy local schools and beyond. Road Safety will be compromised. We appeal to Camden Council to respect the character of the Conservation Area and the wishes of the community. This development must rejected!409 of 500 SignaturesCreated by Declan O'Brien

Salisbury City Council's 44% rise in Council TaxA 44% rise in the Council Tax to Salisbury City Council is scandalous. That's 4 x the rate of inflation and over 4 x the rise in incomes. How do they expect the majority of people to afford outrageous increases like that, especially when the price of food, fuel and other commodities are also increasing at an alarming rate. If they need to increase their cash flow so drastically then they should increase the tax on second homes and owners of holiday lets, for example, to make up their shortfall. In other words people who can well afford it, should pay more and not the poorest of the poor, who are also being hit by this massive increase.5 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Robert Robson

Petition against the proposed changes to the Muslim burials at Blackburn cemeteryFamilies who bury their loved one in the new Muslim burial section at a Blackburn cemetery may be expected to sign up to a new set of rulings and conditions. These new rulings and conditions being proposed by Blackburn with Darwen Borough council will have detrimental effects on the Muslim community when burying our loved ones. We need to stand together and object to this as a matter of urgency otherwise these proposed changes will see the end to Muslim burials being performed in the traditional ways they have been carried out over the generations before us.1,931 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Mohamed Ugradar

Protect and Restore BiodiversityOur natural world is in crisis. Recent rates of extinction are hundreds of times greater than in pre-human times, and growing. About one million animal and plant species are now threatened with extinction if we don’t act fast. More details can be found in this fact pack from Scientists for XR: https://xrb.link/mM4wM67Gf6 Please also support the Stop Ecocide International campaign: https://www.stopecocide.earth/ And the People's Plan For Nature: https://peoplesplanfornature.org/ Even if we reach zero carbon, continued growth in consumption, habitat destruction and pollution, will lead to ecological collapse. We therefore demand the following: MAKE ECOCIDE A CRIME The government must make ecocide (the mass damage and destruction of the natural living world) a crime in the UK, and support all efforts to make it an international crime. LET THE PEOPLE DECIDE ON THE ECOLOGICAL CRISIS To ensure a fair transition to a society that protects and restores nature, the government must follow the recommendations of a Citizens’ Assembly on the ecological crisis. NO BONFIRE OF EU ECO LAW The Retained EU Law (Revocation and Reform) Bill threatens to remove a vast amount of our environmental laws. The government must not allow any reduction in our environmental standards or protections.537 of 600 SignaturesCreated by Exeter XR Biodiversity
