  • Make Labour NEC respect Democracy and allow FAIR voting in the Leadership election
The actions of the NEC are so undemocratic they do not belong in this country. All across society they have excluded members and supports with bitter choices. This cannot be allowed to go on in The Labour Party.

  • America change your gun laws
Too many innocent lives have been lost - Statistics ref BBC: In 2015 - Some 13,286 people were killed in the US by firearms, according to the Gun Violence Archive, and 26,819 people were injured those figures exclude suicide - There were 372 mass shootings in the US in 2015, killing 475 people and wounding 1,870, this is according to the Mass Shooting Tracker, which catalogues such incidents. A mass shooting is defined as a single shooting incident which kills or injures four or more people, including the assailant.. A third of the worlds gun crime is in America. How can Americans show the world that they are a nation of peace and freedom when you have so much gun crime, within America and unfair documented shootings of black individuals?. The world is looking on - observing America's gun laws with great pity - you do not need guns - to show you're a nation of peace - you need friendship and calm. If you believe America should make an amendment to their guns laws - to save lives - then please sign this petition and help make a difference. Thank you -Please share this on Facebook and Twitter.

  • To Immediately Release Ahmed Guerrah from Detention and to Suspend any plans to deport him
Ahmed fled from Algeria with his boyfriend after they were subjected to torture, physical abuse often from their own family members. They reached Greece Ahmed got through his Boyfriend did not. They have not had any communication since. We are asking for Ahmed to be immediately released from detention and returned to Plymouth where he has friends and an important support network. Ahmed is a very shy, loving person in the UK he does not appear to be 'Gay' however in North Africa he is seen as effeminate and will be subjected to further abuse and even risk of being brutally murdered. We Believe that Ahmed will not be safe in any detention centre as he will be held with others that are intrinsically homophobic. This puts him at increased risk of both physical and sexual attacks. Much work being done to present new evidence to the Home Office including the important professional and expert reports on the physical and psychological trauma Ahmed has suffered. The first of a series of appointments with experts has been arranged is due to take place on 20th July here in Plymouth which makes the decision to detain him at this time complete madness. Pride in Plymouth has been supporting Ahmed by reducing the social isolation he has suffered since being in the UK. He is valued and loved by ALL of the 'Pride Family' in Plymouth. Please sign this petition to ensure Ahmed is returned to Plymouth where he has the support and love he needs whilst the necessary professional evidence is collated. It cost the tax payer far more to keep Ahmed in detention than does to house him in the community. Homosexuality is illegal in Algeria carrying an official sentence of three years in Prison. The law in Algeria does not recognise or respect the civil rights of LGBT persons. Officially, there are no gay-friendly establishments and no political organisation is allowed to campaign for LGBT rights. Harassment, violence, and murder of LGBT persons by family members, religious fundamentalists or other vigilant groups is generally tolerated.

  • Prevent Katie Hopkins from continual breach of UK hate speech laws
Katie Hopkins has multiple media outlets, which she has repeatedly used to present to a biased and prejudiced agenda. On her program at the LBC radio station, she presents to topics which are thematically negative towards those of another race, ethnicity or religion, with titles as 'Katie Hopkins Hammers May For Sharia Law Support' and 'Caller Gets Katie Hopkins Fired Up About Ramadan'. Most recently, in her podcast of the 3rd of July, entitled: Katie Hopkins Furious Rant At 'Safety Pin', Campaign and shared to LBC's Facebook page. She berated her audience with statements such as: "Multiculturalism has NOT worked, we DO live in the 'ghetto kingdom' but that does not make it an unsafe space. I do not buy into any of the calls of people tearful because they're now so ‘scared’ of the fact that they live in this country, I think that’s all baloney and I think that’s more sore losers from the liberal left." This one link on LBC's Facebook page has amassed over 90,000 views alone, with the potential to influence all of these viewers/listeners with her views. This broadcast allowed Katie Hopkins to promote and encourage her audience to dismiss the rise of hate crime and related violence, and to ridicule the Safety Pin support campaign. The rise in incidents is a concern recognised by the police force and public officials , many who have pledged to tackle this issue. Another example via the Mail Online: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3654287/KATIE-HOPKINS-Remain-win-warn-not-fall-ill-not-want-buy-home-not-expect-primary-school-place-child-warn-not-complain-terror-attack-brave-vote-Leave-Great-Britain-back.html Katie Hopkins made many statements in this article that are not only factually incorrect but which also used language to incites fear, the most significant is highlighted below. "If you do decide to vote remain be very clear. You have no right to complain you can't get a doctor's appointment or a place in primary school. In four years' time, all primary schools will be full. You have no right to a view on the dearth of housing or the strain on the NHS. Because you sided with the people who said unchecked immigration is a positive thing for Britain. If you are voting remain you have no right to respond to terror with sympathy; your hashtags, your sad faces and your vigils in a public square. The only thing I want to hear from you is 'I was wrong'. Because you voted with the idiots who said we are safer IN. And if you are voting remain because you are worried about short term pain. Think about the cancer you diagnosed for this country." These are not isolated and random incidents, she was widely condemned for her piece in The Sun http://www.sunnation.co.uk/hopkins-rescue-boats-id-use-gunships-to-stop-illegal-migrants/ In the article, she compared migrants to “cockroaches’ and said she would use “gunships” to stop boats from crossing the Mediterranean, a day after hundreds drowned when their boat capsized on the Sicilian coast. Her piece, published 17 April, dehumanised migrants further by labelling them 'feral' and described them as 'spreading like norovirus'. Hopkins and The Sun’s editor David Dinsmore were reported directly to Metropolitan Police Commissioners Office, Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe, by Peter Herbert, Chair Society of Black Lawyers, on 20 April. She is a repeat offender and her offences need to be addressed. By permitting her to continually abuse her media outlets and use them as a platform to promote bias, prejudice and hate speech, we are permitting her to influence those who could feel encouraged and validated to commit more extreme behaviour.

  • Justice for Ellie Butler
*STORY BURIED BY BREXIT* Last week before the referendum vote, many of you would have been hearing about this case. Ellie Butler was removed from loving, caring grandparents who had brought her up "as their own", and handed over to her abusive parents, who terrorised and abused her emotionally and physically until she was murdered at the age of 6. Despite Ellie herself reportedly pleading with social workers not to go back to her 'parents', she was sent back to live with them by two independent, private and profit-making social workers (Services4Children), under the guidance of a judge, Mrs Justice Hogg. In what has been described as a very unusual case, the order given by the judge effectively 'wiped the slate clean' for Ellie's Father, Ben Butler, who had previously been jailed for shaking her as a baby. This meant that professionals, including school staff and local authority social services, were unable to protect Ellie from terrible abuse, due of the special order of this judge. To imagine what Ellie went through is horrifying. To be taken from her grandparents and her loving home despite pleading otherwise, and sent to these monsters: this girl was failed by the adults who were supposed to keep her safe. Ellie's grandad Neal spent his life savings fighting to prevent Ellie being sent back to her parents. Very sadly, his wife (Ellie's grandmother) died on the first day of Ben Butler's trial for murder. He had previously said that Mrs Justice Hogg would have "blood on her hands" if Ellie was returned. After Ellie's parents were convicted, Ellie's Grandad continued to advocate for his beloved granddaughter on TV and in the press, determined to let people know the truth about what had happened. He is desperate for a public enquiry, and to ensure that this can never happen again to another child. The Brexit vote has swamped the news; please don't let Ellie and her grandparents down by forgetting about them.

  • Higher penalties for acts of racism and hate crime
We need to make it clear that this is not acceptable behaviour in our society. We need to act quickly in the wake of the increase in reported crimes of this nature to protect those at risk.

  • Charge Nigel Farage with Incitement to Racial Hatred
The poster was intended to influence voters in the EU referendum by wrongly blaming immigrants for all the UK's problems. It has been exposed as inaccurate (it shows Syrian refugees in Eastern Europe, not EU migrants in the UK) and compared to Nazi propaganda against the Jews. In the 4 days since the vote to leave, there have been many horrifying examples of racial hatred reported in the press and on social media. This behaviour is illegal, as well as being deeply distressing to the victims and and damaging to our society as a whole. The country needs some very clear messages that racial hatred is unacceptable, and a high-profile prosecution over this notorious poster would be an excellent start.

  • Legalise Cannabis
Now that we are no longer in the EU we as a nation need to secure more jobs, more revenue and most of all keep our health services up to date with the latest research and advanced technologies available. All over the world studies are proving that cannabis is a very effective form of treatment for hundreds if not thousands of illnesses from back pain to cancer. We recently had a petition that got a response based on out dated information and biased opinions, we are calling our government to base their response on their own personal views based on up to date research and information. The legalisation of cannabis has provided millions of dollars to states in the US. Money which is being used to better their health services, educational systems and much more, why are we not joining in the movement? Legalising Cannabis will help us thrive as a nation through production of hemp products, sales of the herb and mainly help the ill and pained people of the UK. Give us our freedom, end the war on cannabis today!

  • Expand the powers of the Electoral Commission against misinformation
After a closely fought contest, and the final result which is beyond contention, we must confront the prospect that a portion of the referendum campaigning was based on misinformation, and sometimes outright lying. This petition seeks to draw attention to this, given that the tactics used in this referendum on both sides, such as scaremongering, will more than likely be utilised again, and are damaging to the democratic character of this country. We ask that powers against these be expanded from its current form: “While we have regulatory duties relating to campaign spending, including in relation to political advertising/election material, we have very few powers to deal with the content of material published by candidates and parties, or their general conduct. In most cases we will not be able to deal with such complaints, which should instead be made directly to the party or candidate responsible for the material.” http://www.electoralcommission.org.uk/complaints

  • Honour hero pensioner
Bernard was stabbed as he tried to protect Labour MP Jo Cox. He showed true British spirit in tackling the man with a gun and a knife. So many people today would stand by and let things happen, but this 77 year old pensioner was incredibly brave and had the guts to do something. The George Cross is the highest bravery honour that can be given to non-military personnel. Good people need to be recognised.
