Why should hotels be exempt from laws that governs good business practices Example I booked a room 9 days before the date I needed it but cancelled within 24 hours giving the hotel 8 days to resell the room. I was charged 80% of the fee and offered nothing back if the hotel manages to resell the room. The incurred no costs and therefore this charge is grossly unfair.

On Thursday the 22nd of October, the Metropolitan Police arrested Chinese democracy activist and Tianamen Square survivor, Shao Jiang, on 'suspicion of conspiracy to commit threatening behaviour'. His crime? He was holding up Amnesty International signs which read; 'End autocracy' and 'Democracy Now', as the Chinese President's, Xi Jinping, cavalcade drove past London's Mansion House. The arrest appears to indicate that the British government is willing to kowtow to China's wishes to suppress any criticism of the Chinese government. Unchallenged, these arrests could represent a very dangerous precedent and could be just the tip of the iceberg in eroding the democratic freedoms that British people have enjoyed for centuries. If a citizen lies to the police it's Perverting the Course of Justice and has serious consequences. If a citizen lies in Court it's Perjury and has serious consequences. But when Politicians tell lies in order to get themselves elected it's just 'Politics'. Politicians must be held accountable for the lies they tell in order to get elected and the only way to do that is to force them to be as good as their words by making the breaking of election campaign promises, such as David Cameron is doing right now with cutting tax credits, akin to a form of Perjury that is punishable by them being removed from office as a minimum.

The conservative party has repeatedly told us of the importance personal responsibility, of self-reliance and of fiscal responsibility. It is time to practice what they preach. They decided to hold the conference in an area that is seen as a heartland of trade union, the cooperative movement and left wing politics. It can only have been deliberate. For these reasons the people of Manchester should not be forced to pay the multimillion pound bill for this private event. If you go to a sporting event, the club pays; if you go see a band, the venue pays and by default those attending through the ticket price. This was a private ticketed event so those attending should pay. This is especially true at a time of such swinging cuts.

The Ministry of Defence has sought out and killed some (erstwhile) UK citizens in the Middle East, based on intelligence that, from there, they were actively planning terrorist outrages in the UK. But is that legal and desirable? Targetted killing may perhaps be justified in times of war, especially when the evidence is compelling. Are we at war? But is it worrying that the MoD may have taken steps which breach, or at least weaken, UK legal rights for everyone? The UK did not, for instance, assassinate Saddam Hussein, even though we were at war with Iraq. We support fair trials, eg at the Hague, rather than arbitrary execution, of people who appear to give every evidence of wrong-doing .. but is it conceivable that some apparent traitors in ISIS have been acting under duress? The death penalty has been withdrawn, even for traitors, in the UK. So we would like Mr Gove to clarify a) whether the death penalty has been brought back for treason, b) whether treason can be proven without a trial (even in absentia), c) whether the prevention of harm makes targetted assassination legal (overseas or at home), d) whether assassination of an erstwhile or current UK citizen is legal in any circumstances, and e) whether the MoD has broken any British or other laws in seeking out and killing particular people (including current, or erstwhile, UK citizens) in Syria and the Middle East , without any form of trial,?

These survivors were innocent children, traumatised and treated in the most inhumane ways and all had their childhoods stolen. Adulthood's plagued with the consequential psychological damage, and disadvantages in life. Consequentially impacting upon their lack of quality of life. Please sign.

Because the child should not have been given up for adoption until they had been tried.It's disgusting that the social services can give away a 6 week old baby before it has been confirmed by a judge and jury has heard all the evidence on one persons view no way should this be allowed we must stand behind these parents for the sake of future mistakes

The police refuse to give chase due to liability issues, this allows unlicensed, un protected , un insured thieves to ride motorcycles dangerously within our communities with no recourse to their actions. Motorcycle theft is now at an epidemic proportion in Merseyside as the villans know that unless they allow themselves to be stopped the police will not act.The government have increased the tests for motorcyclists the test now costing hundreds of pounds, insurance premiums are on the rise due to thefts and our communities are in danger from unlicensed motorcycle thieves. There is no longer any point for motorcyclists to bother getting licenses, insurance, tax or MOT's as the only time you can be challenged by a police officer is if you allow them to stop you. Thieves are fully aware of the polices policy and as such ride unabated through our streets un challenged. This must stop

Imagine you have a collection of CDs that you can't play except on your computer.  You want to play the music on those CDs on your IPod at the gym, driving to work, or just relaxing. However, now that this new law is in place, you can't without risking prosecution.  The only way you can play the music you have is to buy it off ITunes or Amazon, and would you really want to have to pay for something you already own simply because you want to play it on another device?  After all, putting music on your IPod from a CD isn't hurting anyone.  You're not selling it, you're not requesting or obtaining any commercial gain from it, the artist still gets their royalties from the purchase of the CD.  You may think the record company, maybe even the artist is just trying to extort money out of you, and that's before even considering the future, when you would not be allowed to even move music from one device to another through ITunes.  Every device you own has to have its own copy of the songs you want to play. Now imagine you are wanting to convert an audio performance that is now out of print, and can only be obtained on CD.  If you feel it should be preserved, you are not allowed to do this, since you cannot rip CDs any more.  Therefore, that performance, which you think is fabulous and has been praised by critics, will be lost. If this ruling is not amended, then we will be moving towards a slippery slope where no one can have audio that is not bought for a specific device.  This may also lead to software developers not giving users replacement activation keys if they change computers, as they will have to buy another copy of the software simply to use it on a replacement computer.  Even more concerningly, it could lead to people with print disabilities no longer being able to scan physical books and other printed materials for personal use, and CD ripping is much the same as scanning a book to read it in an alternative format.  This is worrying, since publishers only permitted the scanning of books by print disabled people only about 13 years ago, and that was only after a long battle with them. It would be a terable misfortune if those people could not scan books anymore, particularly since that is the only way for some people to be able to read books , and specialist library services, such as the RNIB library, are very limited in what books they can offer. This law is impracticable, unrealistic, and completely unenforceable.  Moreover, it is almost certain to backfire, as people will just continue to rip their CDs, simply because they know they can get  away with it.

David Cameron announced we’ll welcome 20,000 more Syrian refugees. But there’s a catch. This will take 5 years, leaving thousands of refugees in limbo. It’s now up to us to show that in cities, towns and villages all across the country we’re ready to welcome people now. Aylan, the toddler who drowned fleeing Syria, was just three years old. His town was under attack by Isis. His five year old brother and his mum also died trying to reach safety.We don't want Britain to be the kind of country that turns its back as people drown in their desperation to flee places like Syria. So let's stand up for Britain's long tradition of helping refugees fleeing war. Let's show the Prime Minister that we, the people of the UK, are proud to do our part and provide refuge to people in their hour of need.
