Foxley Lane Women's Service is an extremely valuable service that acts as an alternative to an acute clinical admission that Gresham 1 provides. Foxley Lane provides weekly therapeutic timetable of activities that supports recovery from mental health crisis. This unparalleled service provides support, assessment, treatment and care for women in crisis from staff that are dedicated and passionate about the care they give. With the closure of this service; women in crisis the alternatives will be admission to an acute ward on Gresham 1 at the Bethlem Royal Hospital. Gresham 1 can be noisy, threatening and scary with many patients struggling with an acute episode of psychosis. For women trying to recovery from a mental health crisis, Gresham 1 can cause further distress and for many women being discharged from Gresham they can and do leave more damaged than when they were admitted. A another alternative being offered is home treatment which for many wouldn’t be an option as it can be home life that caused the relapse into crisis in the first place Unfortunately, due primarily to lack of funding and changes to mental health services in Croydon, the Croydon CCG have made the decision to decommission Foxley Lane. This follows Croydon Health recently going into special measures due to poor finances. Many of the service users that have had been a patient at Foxley recognise that the treatment and care provided is the best environment for women in crisis to recover. The Mad Hatters Tea Room at Derby's Alvaston Park is due to close. Derby City Council has decided not to renew its lease because the authority wants to take it "in house". This will effect greatly the people of Alvaston who use this facility and of course undo a great deal of work carried out by our volunteers at the 'Alvaston Park Friends' in particular who have worked tirelessly to get our fantastic park to green flag standard, we need to fight this and keep the Mad hatter cafe under private management. We're worried that if the council take over the lease there will be a drop in quality and the prices will go up. Given all the cuts that are happening in Derby right now (toilets closing, the water feature and more) we're worried that the council could end up closing the cafe.

The County Council has a legal duty to provide waste disposal free of charge for waste created in the household and through this delegated decision the Conservative leadership is ignoring its legal responsibility to the communities of Staffordshire. The Council should use its discretion to charge directed to business traders and identify these specifically to charge for waste generated from their commercial activities. These new charges have been hidden in County Council paperwork from two years ago and did not receive any meaningful public scrutiny. Further the Council took felt sufficiently concerned about their legal position that they obtained specific advice and concluded that “consultation….is not necessary.” The County Council has a duty to consider the impact of any decisions a cabinet member takes and of particular note is that they acknowledge that the charges will have a detrimental effect on the most vulnerable in our community stating clearly the “…greatest impact on low income households.” They have pressed ahead regardless with this discriminatory practice. Secondly, the Council acknowledge that there could be “a small increase” in fly-tipping. We think they have underestimated the increase in fly-tipping which is costly to clean up for the District Council. The Council think that people won’t be tempted to put soil, hardcore and plasterboard in their own bins. We think residents are likely to try and avoid these charges and this will mean less recycling. The Council do not care that they anticipate “some complaints” in the short term because they believe the issue will blow over and we, the residents of Staffordshire, will continue to accept their ill-considered and flawed decision making to the detriment of communities. Pensioners in Lauriston Park rely on the bus going down these roads. The extra 800 yards walking makes a real difference to those elderly residents. Also we are not happy at the lack of consultation that has been carried out on this.

This clinic allows children and adults who live with cystic fibrosis to easily access the specialist care they need. Health bosses have said the clinic is "likely" to be cut early next year due to "staffing changes". My daughter has cystic fibrosis and visits this clinic regularly to get essential care. People like my family have relied on this clinic all of our lives. If the centre is cut, already stretched families will have to travel to Southampton to access the same services. For me this would mean my daughter taking extra days off school in order to get the treatments she relies on.

Ability Bow is the only place in inner London that provides long term rehabilitation to help people who have a disability, an injury or a long-term health condition. For many it is be a life-changing experience. There are thousands of people that Ability Bow has helped over the last 10 years. Margaret is a stroke survivor who regained near full use of her body after doctors wrote her off. Albert had a spine broken in two places and learned to walk again. There are hundreds of stories like these here. We are asking for the assistance of a government partner to safeguard the future of this vital service. I do not know where I would be without this place. I started this campaign to raise awareness and make sure that people get the help they need to improve their lives.

The Crown Post Office on Circus Road serving St John’s Wood is set to shut down or be taken over by a private company. It has been identified as 1 of 42 loss-making main Crown branches in the UK. It is currently on the market as a franchise meaning a private company could take it over and run it. The Communication Workers Union (CWU) said the changes are not necessary as the Post Office is due to break even this year. It added that the move is being forced through in a bid to make a £10 million turnover by the end of 2018. CWU rep Huw Davis said: “It’s early days but it’s an outrage where we’ll see many job losses. They want to make £10m by ridding those they say are losing profits, looking at staffing costs and buildings. Somehow the St John Wood’s Post Office has become part of that. The services, whether you get them in WH Smith or in a shop is not as good as what you get from dedicated staff who have worked there for many years. I hope the public will fight against this privatisation.”

Inverleith House, in the Royal Botanic Gardens, Edinburgh, has been a much-loved and deeply valued public arts space in Edinburgh for well over half a century, first as the home of the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art, then under the management of the Royal Botanic Garden itself. Given the importance of the gallery as an iconic location in Edinburgh, and a much-loved space both for the people of the city and for international visitors, it seems outrageous that the RBGE management should seek to close it at just a few days' notice, and without public consultation, apparently with a view to exploiting it for more commercially rewarding purposes. Yet the amount of public money invested in maintaining the house as a gallery over the years raises questions about whether the RBG management have any moral right to close it to the public in this way, or have any idea of the sense of loss that will be felt by tens of thousands of people, in Edinburgh and far beyond, who - because of the gallery's unique location - may in some cases have had their first-ever experience of modern art in these beautiful rooms. It is difficult to imagine any more appropriate use for this beautiful historic building than the one it has enjoyed over the past half century; and this petition asks all the key bodies involved - the Board and management of the Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh, Creative Scotland, Edinburgh City Council, Visit Scotland, and others - to come together, as a matter of urgency, to ensure that this beautiful building remains open to the public as an arts space and gallery, for the foreseeable future.

It is important in society to be independent, be able to work and pay taxes and to support the system that we depend on. To then isolate people that cannot afford own transport how do we cope? Senior Citizens will not be so motivated or stimulated so this can create many health issues. Young people cannot get to work or college this creates a bleak future. Social life becomes zero without transport.

The walk in medical centres in Bury and Prestwich are under threat. A consultation is underway to look into whether or not they should be closed. We're asking the government to provide Bury with enough money to keep the centres open. If enough of us sign the petition to keep them open, health minister Jeremy Hunt might just have to listen. 67,752 of us use the centres every year, and closing them would put a real strain on other local services, like the A&E department. They alleviate A&E workload and serve the community well.
