Mismanagement of local government finances in the B&NES district now means that rubbish collections will only take place on a fortnightly basis after November of this year. If there is one public service that is required to run smoothly to maintain public standards of health and cleanliness, that is rubbish collection. The present B&NES administration don't seem to understand that fewer rubbish collections will inevitably lead to increased risks to the health of all of the residents and also visitors to the area, or that their plans for extra numbers of wheelie bins probably aren't sufficient to prevent the inevitable increase in animal and gull nuisance, let alone the probable odour issues that are certain to arise as numbers of uncollected binbags mount up in the summer months. Say that you do not agree with these badly thought out plans and want to live in a cleaner, safer, and less smelly environment than B&NES council have got planned for their residents. Demand that weekly bin collections are retained and that the Conservative led council actually work on behalf of those they claim to represent, instead of reducing an extremely important public service regardless of consequences.

As a parent with a child in secondary school (Hove Park School) I'm seeing first hand the negative impact of cuts with crumbling buildings, planned staff redundancies, fewer after school clubs and difficulty attracting and retaining teaching talent.

Pensioner poverty is still a major issue for many older people across the UK and was one of the main reasons the Triple Lock system was first introduced. As it stands, 1 in 7 pensioners (equating to 1.6 million or 14% of all pensioners living in the UK) are still living in poverty with a further 1.2 million pensioners (just over 10% of UK pensioners) living just above the poverty line. The SPF feel it is necessary for policy makers to bear in mind the long struggle to establish a caring, supportive state pension in the first instance and to ensure a single tier pension for all pensioners. As changes to the conditions for receipt of a full state pension continue as well as the state pension age continuing to rise, it is time that the pensioners' voices are heard and that that the government take notice of the contribution older people made, and still make, to the economy and society as a whole.

We need to raise awareness of the unfair way women in their fifties have been treated over the raising of their State Pension age with little or no notice. This has severely impacted on women born in the fifties ho have been robbed of their pensions . We are disappointed there is no media coverage

When you're at a time where you're mentally distressed, to the point you need to be in hospital, knowing where you are plays a bigger role than you'd think. If you know you're up the road from your house, or a short bus ride away, it gives you peace of mind. You know you're family and friends will be able to visit you, and bring you things you might need. It also means you can have effective home leave before being discharged. Now imagine, you're being sent 100miles away from your home, to a place where you probably don't know anyone. What if no one in your family drives? You become alone and isolated, at a time where being around people who love you matters more than anything; but you're all alone instead. There are kids being sent far away! Some as young as 12. If you're far away, and you are in a unit where you can't use your mobile, how are you meant to stay in contact with friends? What if you're in that hospital for months? Having no familiarity makes you sink even lower. It is essential that more is done to improve the current bed crisis.

The anxiety caused by worrying that benefits will be cut can make a range of conditions worse by increasing stress and anxiety. making work related activities voluntary for people in the support may help them feel more comfortable and encouraged and give them better success in getting off benefits. the added anxiety will prevent people accessing the support the green paper aims to offer. those with mental illnesses will be affected very badly as the additional stress and anxiety could exasperate the problem however encouragement to voluntarily get involved in work related activities could help some people to gain the confidence to get back into work and come off benefits.

Cuts and closures aren’t the only option. If the government gave the NHS the money it needs, it’d mean decisions could be made with patients in mind.

Why should it be the hard working people who always have to stump up? Let Government stump up for a welcome change!!!

I have always had a passion for this but after this last week when actually met a homeless person at first I just gave some spare change but I found I could not walk off so I went back and asked them if they would like to come for a cup of coffee which they did thank god because it was freezing outside we ended up chatting in a café for hours and I found out lots about them. the fact is some people just need a little support and encouragement and they can pick themselves up again just by stopping to ask them if they wanted a coffee I actually made a friend and he may now even have a job lined for him my aim is to walk the streets of Swansea giving out warm clothing sleeping bags and bags of food and toiletries ect and just to talk to them and let them know people are listening and they do care this person really had effect on me and I want to carry on helping people on the streets everyone deserves a change help me give it to them
