Raise the minimum wage for those doing apprenticeships to a more suitable wage to live on£3.30 per hour is not a wage that can be lived on, in fact a person earning this amount of money cannot afford to rent in most places and would even struggle to afford transport to get to where they are doing their apprenticeship. A person working the same 40 hours, as most apprenticeships stipulate, could earn up to four times as much as those who are in apprenticeships, for the same amount of work. It is preposterous that a person on an apprenticeship working 40 hours a week should earn only £120.00 on average.9 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Lucy Baskeyfield

TUC: call a general strike in support of the junior doctorsJeremy Hunt has made no secret of his opposition to the NHS as founded on the principles of the 1942 Beveridge report. His intransigence in the face of the current negotiations has to be read in this context. The NHS has the support of the whole country; it is now time for us to act in unison to support the junior doctors as part of a wider commitment to the principle of a free at the point of service, publicly funded and owned NHS. We call for the TUC to weigh into the current pay and conditions dispute by calling a general strike against the imposition of the proposed contract on junior doctors. The contract is a mark of the hostility that the current Health Secretary has for the NHS as it is currently instituted. It does not serve any ends but those of a government fundamentally committed to the run down and decline of the NHS. We must unite in its defense and send a clear message that the country will not tolerate the piecemeal destruction of the NHS.2,449 of 3,000 SignaturesCreated by Eve Wedderburn

Ethical treatment for all UK workersEthical treatment of employees outside of the UK is quite rightly championed, with many consumers opting to purchase fair trade alternatives that command a higher premium. Yet in the UK, poor treatment of staff continuously falls outside of the consumer spotlight. Prominent displays of working conditions, as appraised by staff, would likely inform shopping habits and ensure employers take appropriate steps to provide fairer working conditions. The consequences of doing this should not be underestimated:- • It is likely to reduce stress related illness that is largely responsible for circa £6.5bn per annum. • It is likely to reduce the financial burden incurred by the NHS in terms of treating patients. • Should employers feel obliged to increase wages, it seems entirely plausible that the financial support given by the government could reduce. • Lastly, unemployment may similarly reduce if potential employees see that their working conditions are guaranteed to meet at least a ‘good’ standard. Consequently I implore you to consider the health and financial well-being of UK workers and the UK itself by encouraging a good employer ethos.22 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Gill Spoor

Save our FarmersWe need to pay a fair and living wage to those who produce our food etc for us, we need to know where it comes from and if it is sustainable. We need local farmers who are inspired to get up at 4.00am to go and milk their cows, and carry on until 19.00, when the children have already gone to bed, and who turns out on Christmas Eve when a cow is calfing and doesn't get in until 22.00. The farmer who loves his land, and cares for it with a passion, cutting hedges, leaving borders for wildlife, going out to listen to the sounds of nature, kieeping the countryside alive for us. I care about this issue, not only because farming affects our family, but because we need to know where our food comes from and how the animals and vegtables are gown, and treated. This is a global problem, but it starts at home, we have to be self sufficient, and teach the world to be self sufficient, and to do that the large supermarkets have to respect and reward farmers, as they would their management staff.4 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Kathryn Francis

ASDA, Tesco, Wetherspoons and McDonald's: Pay your UK staff a real living wage. Why focus on your town? The targets of this petition happen to be four major employers in my hometown of Bideford, Devon where I was elected on the Town Council in May 2015. One of the first actions I campaigned for was to pay all our staff the full living wage and to become affiliated with the foundation. I hoped this would set a good example to other employers in the area and encourage them to sign up on a voluntary basis. However many low paid people in the area are employed by one of these companies who set pay on a national level. So I came to the conclusion if I was to change this I would have to launch a wider campaign, hence this petition! If we at the Town Council can afford to pay our lowest paid staff a dignified wage in times of local government austerity, so can they! Furthermore most small towns in the UK will have at least one of these establishments in them. So by signing this petition you will almost certainly be helping people in your community as well! I like [insert company here], leave them alone! I also shop at ASDA and (occasionally) drink at spoons. Does this make me a hypocrite? Well no for two reasons. a) There is often little alternative for cheap groceries or a boozy meal in this supposedly free market of ours and b) I'm not saying we should boycott these companies, merely we as consumers and the British public are expressing our unhappiness that their staff are not being duly rewarded. It won't make a difference. A petition like this will never influence the decisions of a multinational corporation! Well neither will doing nothing! The most like petition I could find to this one from 2013 had 34,000 signatures(7); I am aiming for 250,000 this year. That is comparable number to the population of a large British city and hence a non-trivial fraction of their consumer base. If companies are supposed to pay attention to their customers, then they ignore this petition at their own risk! Save Cardrew Health Centre, Redruth, CornwallThis is important as 3,000 people will have to relocate to other Surgeries in Redruth. The other surgeries are already full. Many of the people registered at Cardrew have previously been registered at other surgeries and were not satisfied with the treatment they received. Redruth is a forever growing and expanding community. So many more houses being built in and around the area. Many people commuting into Redruth and surrounding area for work. The Cardrew Health Centre has become a very important and much needed surgery. This walk in Health Centre must NOT close. There will be too many people of various age groups left without a Doctor. The staff that work in the Centre will become unemployed and have to claim benefits, putting themselves and their families at risk! This Centre MUST stay open, it is a very well used and much needed Surgery. This Centre is important to my family and friends. A high number of people in and around Redruth do NOT drive so Cardrew Health Centre is close enough for many people to walk to. The staff are always polite, helpful and caring.3,300 of 4,000 SignaturesCreated by Sharin French

U.K Disabled Veterans being asked to apply for Personal Independence Payments. It is important that all disabled veterans are supported by the government as it is the same government that placed them in areas of conflict that has resulted in them requiring financial supports as a result of the injuries they received while serving their country this including loss of mobility, loss of their ability to maintain their basic personal care, ie such as washing dressing, nutrition. Please support this petition to ensure that those U.K veterans who have been left permanently disabled do not also find themselves financially disadvantaged due to the these changes. Ian Duncan Smith needs to remove this process, provide a fair system and be forced to support disabled veterans and not just on Poppy Day. It will only take a few minutes of your time, but a life time of difference to improve the quality of life for disabled veterans.21 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Stewart White

Legal & General - Save the Kingswood OfficeOver 1,550 jobs at Kingswood will be lost if Legal & General goes ahead with plans to close the flagship site in Kingswood, Surrey. Closure will have a devastating impact on the local community, costing millions. Many Legal & General workers in Kingswood are members of the trade union Unite, which has supported their campaign to defend jobs since the company first announced their intentions in 2015. The firm plan to close the site by the middle of 2018, citing cost cutting measures. This is despite L&G increasing operating profits in 2015 by 18% to £750 million. Shockingly Legal & General have neglected to carry out any research into the impact of closing Kingswood on the local community. An independent assessment commissioned by Unite has revealed that the closure will rip a devastating £21 million black hole in the local economy. This will be devastating for the local economy, threatening jobs in businesses and services in Kingswood and across the county. This flies in the face of Legal & General’s stated commitment to the long-term wellbeing of local communities. Fund NHS Doctors training for guaranteed 5 years NHS coverStealing doctors from poorer countries who need them more is morally indefensible, and insufficient doctors for the NHS means over long hours for those we have and less safe practises. Doctors who pay for their own training feel free to leave Britain immediately which is a drain on reserves.46 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Amanda Morton-KIng

STOP HOSPITAL STAFF PAYING £1000'S FINES FOR PARKING AT WORK14 members of University Hospital of Wales Staff are being taken to court for parking at their own workplace. This comes more than 4 years since since the Assembly Government scrapped hospital car parking charges in Wales! 600 more staff will also be targeted to pay fines which start at £30 a ticket but then rise to hundreds of pounds per ticket. Staff are being asked to pay thousands of pounds of costs and charges to Indigo (Vinci) which has a contract with Cardiff and Vale Healthboard to manage parking at their University Hospital Site. However the available number of spaces for staff to park are wholly inadequate and management have been aware of this problem over a number of years. Despite some park and ride options many staff members such as new mums and parents of young children have no choice whether to drive to work or not. Other staff members come to work 90 minutes before they start work to queue for a precious parking space. This situation has been ignored by management for too long and now Indgio are aggressively pursuing staff members for thousands of pounds of historical fines. Some of these staff members are on low wages but make up the frontline staff at UHW.3,902 of 4,000 SignaturesCreated by Angharad Camara

Allow commuters with disabilities to use free bus pass for commuting. At the moment the free bus pass is only valid for journeys which start after 9.30am. This seems illogical for a travel benefit which is specifically aimed at "people of working age". Imagine having a stroke in your early twenties, your life slips away to be replaced by dreams. You fight hard to recover, and learn how to walk. You want to volunteer at a local food bank but the bus pass you hold won't allow you to travel there on time. You were hoping that the volunteering might help you get a job. All you needed was a small helping hand instead of a closed door.10 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Rebecca Woods
