Reinstate the Somerset County Transport ForumNo matter who we are we all need to get from A to B in our lives. Working transport means we can enjoy our lives and participate fully in society. It means we can reach employment opportunities and contribute to our country. It means healthy and supportive families, friendships and communities. It means access to the public services that we have already paid for. A forum would provide the opportunity to listen to people, business and community needs and deliver a transport strategy that will work for everyone. The County Council has a strategic role in transport planning and a County Transport Forum facilitates exchange of ideas, better accountability and communication with interested organisations.145 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Wes Hinckes

Say no to 'Wonder woman' as the UN ambassador for womenHOW can the UN think an imaginary , scantily clad , very well endowed ( Barbie doll - statistics) comic book cartoon represents women of the world and 'empowers' them? She is a 'sex symbol ' and will only serve to promote women as sex objects in countries that already veer that way! Are they serious? Yes I get that they need a 'modern ' symbol - but 'Wonder Woman' was out of the 70's (or maybe it is more to do with a new 'Wonder Woman 'film being released in 2017 )??? But would you choose Charlie 's Angels? or Baywatch babes ? what about Bridget Jones ? Or a whole raft of similar females ? Pretty much every REAL woman I have ever met is a better role model for women, for encouraging our girls to be all they can be. Are there no real modern women across the whole world who could not be the UN's ambassador for women ? really ? We deserve better163 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Debbie Veel

Funding for essential hospice careOver the past year I have witnessed first hand the devastating effect that cancer has on anybody affected, not only on the patient but also on family and friends. In the last few days of my dad's precious life, the care he received from the angels at Manorlands Hospice was second to none. This care also extends to family and friends who are affected, and is proving to a necessity as the numbers of people affected by this cruel disease continues to rise. I find it appauling that these vital services are relying heavily on fund raising events in order to keep going. When so much money is being wasted in other areas, or worse still not collected in tax, the people who suffer most are those who are already in an intolerable amount of pain. For this reason, I believe that more should be done to fund the vital services provided by hospices, both in care and in cancer research.47 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Michelle Bateson

Stop the press revealing identities of Calais childrenPublication of photos and personal details can risk the security of unaccompanied young people, who are known to be at a high risk of human trafficking and may be exposed to hate crime. The language used by The Sun, the Daily Star, the Daily Mail and the Daily Express to describe these young people arriving from the 'jungle' camp in Calais is incendiary and inhumane. The deliberate questioning of age, without due care to safety or lawful processes, has the very real potential to expose individuals to abuse, racism and hatred whilst in the UK. International law makes it clear that anyone under the age of 18 is a child. Unaccompanied children frequently have no documents to prove their age. Some don’t even know their own chronological age. Others have had their identities faked by human traffickers. There is a duty on the UK to give those in such situations the ‘benefit of the doubt’ where there is reason to believe they may be a child. The current approach of 'trial by media' undermines these young people's right to fair and impartial assessments of their individual circumstances. It ignores well-established, legal processes that are designed to protect those most in need and undermines the validity of the laws to protect children and refugees. ECPAT UK is a leading children’s rights organisation campaigning to prevent child trafficking, transnational child abuse and child exploitation for the past 20 years. To complement our research, policy and campaigning activity, we run peer support groups for child victims of trafficking and deliver training to a broad range of professionals. Provide Catford Station with a lift serviceAs a mother of two young children, I have found myself in the position of having to carry a pram and still hold onto the other child, leaving me and the kids exposed to trips and falls. During the day the station may be quiet and there will be no individuals there to help you. This is not ideal especially if a parent has had a c-section. I have also seen many other parents struggle to navigate the steep staircase located at the station.8 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Sharon Mills

Keep the St John's Wood Post Office openThe Crown Post Office on Circus Road serving St John’s Wood is set to shut down or be taken over by a private company. It has been identified as 1 of 42 loss-making main Crown branches in the UK. It is currently on the market as a franchise meaning a private company could take it over and run it. The Communication Workers Union (CWU) said the changes are not necessary as the Post Office is due to break even this year. It added that the move is being forced through in a bid to make a £10 million turnover by the end of 2018. CWU rep Huw Davis said: “It’s early days but it’s an outrage where we’ll see many job losses. They want to make £10m by ridding those they say are losing profits, looking at staffing costs and buildings. Somehow the St John Wood’s Post Office has become part of that. The services, whether you get them in WH Smith or in a shop is not as good as what you get from dedicated staff who have worked there for many years. I hope the public will fight against this privatisation.”540 of 600 SignaturesCreated by Paul Dimoldenberg

Keep Soho Safe!Soho is special. For many of us, it is our home and our community village. For others, it is a place where their artistic and creative talents can flourish. For London, it is a thriving area with the UK's best entertainment, restaurants and theatres. For the world, it is a cultural beacon, where different age groups, cultures and communities live side by side and enjoy life together.100 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Councillor Paul Church

Reintroduce Driving and Topographical Knowledge Test1) Well being of PUBLIC SAFETY such we carry vulnerable adults (lone women drunken people male and female also children. Drivers are seeing their earning potential being progressively eroded to the extent that service levels and PUBLIC SAFETY are being undermined totally. 2)Therefore the drivers have to work longer hours or more just to make ends meet. As well as being bad for their health, lack of rest and sleep puts lives at risk and again PUBLIC SAFETY being put at risk. 3)Drivers aim, through negotiation, not only to improve their living standards (many of them earn less than half the minimum wage on a self-employed basis) but also to raise standards, raise the profile of the trade and improve community confidence in the service they offer to the public 24 hours per day, 365 days a year.831 of 1,000 SignaturesCreated by WPHDA Wolverhampton Private Hire Drivers Association

SAVE OUR NHS. TUC DAY OF ACTIONThe NHS is in a very critical state, The Tories despite their rhetoric are systematically destroying our health service. We all at sometime have to use the wonderful medical services that the NHS provide. We want an NHS that is owned and funded by the public 100%. We can no longer watch from the sidelines and see our most precious service die at the hands of those who wish to destroy it1,235 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by James Spooner

Stop Rushcliffe Borough Council fining the homelessRushcliffe Borough Council have proposed plans to fine homeless people £100 under the 2014 "Public Space Protection Order". Rushcliffe Borough Council believe that the rough sleepers cause a "nuisance" to those who live locally. Fines can be increased to £1000 following non-payment of the original fine. The idea of fining those who already have so little that they are forced to sleep out in the cold is a cruel and heartless act. This is attacking vulnerable persons and does not aid in resolving the homeless issues. Other campaigns have successfully halted other councils from imposing similar fines.
