Stop selling British Citizenship! We saw the governments refusal to budge on the earning threshold for British Citizens bringing a non-UK/EU partner to live with them. Now, even if someone can afford to bring their partner to live with them, they may never be able to afford to become a British Citizen, meaning they will live with a constant threat of having to leave because of expired visas. The government has now approved its decision to increase the cost of settlement by up to 22.5%. This could increase a single applicant's costs to over £2000. More when you have a family. The government need to stop "selling" citizenship. They need to stop penalising people just because they want to become citizens of this great nation. Surely people's commitment and desire to be a functioning member of society should be of higher importance than the size of your wallet. I have heard first hand, story after story of British Citizens leaving the UK because they cannot afford to bring their partner to live with them. Families get torn apart because it is unaffordable. In addition, there are people who have committed 5 to 10 years to living and working in the UK to building a life here with the hope of become a British Citizen. Not because they want benefits (on the contrary, these are people who have not been allowed access to public funds), in fact, these are people who have only paid in to the system. They want to make a formal commitment to a place they have come to call home. But the government want to charge them extortionate fees to do this. It is time for the government's targeting of hard working people to meet their outrageous and unattainable migration targets to end! Stop penalising or not penalising people based on where in the world they come from. Stop selling British Citizenship to the highest earners! Work for the good of families and people who love this country and focus your efforts against the abusers of the system.65 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Greg Cockrell

Keep Lynton's Emergency Response TeamWe are a remote rural area with a large number of elderly and retired residents. As well as the locals, we have many tourists visit us, a lot of them are walkers due to the mountainous terrain around Lynton. Add to that the fact that we have a harsh rocky coastline and the fact that the roads in this area are far narrower than those in cities or other urban areas, and it's fair to say the Emergency Response Team (ERT) is kept busy here. Moving the ERT to Ilfracombe and/or Barnstaple would increase the response time of paramedics dramatically and it would increase the workload of already heavily burdened first responders. As a Scout Group, we feel passionately about this and we are against the decision to move our ERT %100. One of our Scouts was treated by our ERT and it took nearly 10 minutes for them to get to him - if they had to come from Barnstaple or Ilfracombe, it would have taken 3 or 4 times longer! The proposed relocation of the Emergency Response Team would leave all residents and visitors to the Lyn Valley area even more vulnerable than they already are and lives will be put at risk. Please sign this petition to ask Cllr Andrea Davis to stop the decision made by South West Ambulance Service Foundation Trust (SWASFT) to relocate the Emergency Response Team and keep the Team here in Lynton.5 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Daniel Whitfield

Bring back legal aid for family law. Our rights to a fair justice systemIt's diabolical that legal aid has been removed from family law. Parents all over the country are not getting a fair hearing and through lack of knowledge and unfair rules they are having to be litigants in person.55 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Frances Ward

Fighting for the rights of people living in supported accommodationThis is important because the living standards are unsafe for young people and parents to live in. It is also singling out the residents living at the properties giving them next to no connection to their families and friends19 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Stephanie Miller

Update Musselburgh's Care HomesClaire says, "This is important because the people using these facilities are the friends and family of people from our community. With the amount of housing being built this problem can only get worse and it is our parents and grandparents who will be the ones to suffer. "The most vulnerable in our society deserve the best care and facilities that we are able to provide. The care provided by Eskgreen and The Hollies is second to none but they provide that care in spite of the chronic under investment made by our council and government."8 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Claire Graham

List the chemicals used in the production of foods sold in our shops. How can we choose to eat healthily if we don't know what's in our foods? We know that many of the chemical used in growing and processing our food have deleterious effect on health, but if we don't know what they are we cannot safely avoid them. For instance "Roundup" has been found in many cereal based foods, such as bisquits, breads and breakfast cereals and has been linked to hormonal, reproductive interference and to cancers (Scientific American). Roundup is used by almost every farmer in the US and the UK. There are 47 different pesticides used on apples. 4 are known or probable carcinogens, 16 are suspected hormone disrupters, 5 are neurotoxins, 6 are developmental and reproductive toxins and 11 are honeybee toxins (whatsonmyfood.org). Apples are supposed to be good for you! The public need to be informed of the toxins in the food they buy and eat.28 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Eva Tombs

Chlamydia routine screening in pregnancy nationallyI work in a hospital enviroment where i see families affected by the common STI, Chlamydia ( Chlamydia Trachomatis). But what shocked me the most is the UK NSC and Public health have not worked together to approve Chlamydia screening in pregnant woman. I have seen women and heard stories from women, who have given birth to babies that have had Chlamydia that has been passed on by the mother while being vaginally delivered. These women have not known that they had Chlamydia and feel a sense of guilt and anger that the fact they never knew which could hhave been prevented and that they had passed this on to their baby. Chlamydia could potentially be fatal to a baby if left untreated, It can cause the baby to have very bad eye infections ( inclusion conjunctivitis) from being exposed to the mothers infected vaginal fluids, it could lead to an infection in the respiratory tract, causing infant pneumonia which if this isn't then picked up could lead to respiratory failure. A women who is infected increases the risk of her waters breaking prematurely, causing the baby to also be born early. This is why it is important for me to get this changed. It costs the NHS less to test the mother before baby arrives, to what it does when both mother and baby need treating with antibiotics. the stress and suffering of seeing a poorly baby should be enough to ensure that every mother is given every right to ensure her health is well before her baby enters the world and be given a right to a healthy baby. Its not fair on the little babies Some hospitals do do this but its not a necessary screen nationally, which is why we need this to be a national screening process. Women asume that they have been tested, but its not always the case for a lot of pregnant women. Please support this campaign. I want this changed nationally so it becomes apart of the antenatal screening process and Public health and the uk NSC to make a decision in making this possible. Please sign..16 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Kim Hannaford

Requesting Home Office to revise the Settlment visa process and applicaitonSettlement application are important step in many people life , but is far from being informed and manged process and it turned to be a nightmare to many British families and bring them apart. Mamy mistakes happen every day and the appeal process is very lengthy and can take 1 to 1.5 years Similar settlement processes in Australia or Canada could take same time but it is far less stressful and with less mistakes.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Jamal Al Tamimi

Stop Highland Council destroying our schoolsMost schools in the Highland region are part of an ASG (number of schools grouped together). The Highland Council are removing the Head Teachers from all these schools and replacing them with one administrative head who will have control of all the schools budgets. This is a form of centralisation which not only removes a schools identity but its ability to function independently and hence do the best for the children attending that school. This will shortly be happening to Tongue and Melvich Primary schools who are part of the Farr ASG which contains 4 primary and Farr High school. Tongue is 13 miles west of Farr High and Melvich is 17 miles east. The new administrator will be based at Farr High school along with the budgets for all the schools and although both Tongue and Melvich Parent Councils have strongly opposed these changes the Highland Council are proceeding anyway. Compromises will inevitably be made by this administrator which will benefit some schools at the detriment to others. This is WRONG WRONG WRONG and should not be happening.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Andrew Gordon

Equal ParentingIt's important that both parents have regular access to the children so that they are aware that they are loved. Parental Alienation Syndrome can have adverse effects on the child making them have rejection issues. Children want to know why they don't get to spend time with both parents or have to spend more time with one over the other. Fathers, in general, have problems getting the access their children deserve. Mediation and legal fees are also extortionately costing up to thousands. Consider what it must be like not having frequent access to your kids, and what that must be like for them. The laws need to be changed, and costs for sorting out the issues of separation need to be brought back to reality. Mediation meetings can be four times the cost of alternative private counseling, whereby one parent attends, and up to ten times the cost where both parents attend. The process of resolving access issues are costly, laborious. Opening children to months of completely unacceptable hardship and stress. We should bring the laws we have up to the same standards of countries like Norway. Equal parenting is favored, encouraging more active parenting roles and supporting the equal share of parenting contact both parents rightfully deserve. Without this approach, Children can dangerously be in a position where a mother is in complete control of access arrangements, which is rarely the case for fathers. Neither parent should be put in this position unless there are serious grounds for concern with either parent. Norway's laws addressed this matter where parents are automatically given equal rights unless there are significant reasons why this shouldn't be the case. Our laws should support fathers that want to be there for their children rather than support fathers that don't! Family law needs to be modernised. Parents should not be faced by a system that actively encourages them to turn their backs on their children. Instead, we should have one that encourages their equal involvement in their lives. Improvements will not be made until the laws are changed. Please tell your MP to actively support and encourage equal parenting through their work in Parliament.49 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Len Cole
