• parents who hold parental responsibility should both provide equally for the upbringing of a child
With the benefits cap having a detrimental impact on families especially those bringing children up alone, action needs to be taken on those parents who ignore the importance of their role of holding parental responsibility and pay the minimum child maintenance, which impacts on the main care giver meeting the needs of each individual child in their care. Action needs to be taken, and consideration should be made into the costs single parents face such as health, education and daily activities to promote social skills. These costs should be met equally by both parents who hold Parental responsibilities. The new child maintenance system is failing so many families and leaving them facing severe financial hardship. Child maintenance doesn't take into account the £350 each year spent on buying new school uniform or school resources. Nor do they take into account the rise in child care costs or the weekly recreational activities that children undertake. The main caregiver is the one struggling to make ends meet ''robbing Peter to pay Paul'' to pay bills as tax credits and child benefit don't take into consideration the additional costs that these parents make to meet their Child's everyday needs. Both parents should equally pay for these everyday needs

  • childrens act 1989
Because we need parental right to allow grandparents to be able to get it in the same way as same sex parents or step parents. Neither of these are blood relatives. There are over 200.000 grandparents bringing up one or more grandchildren in the UK. We have to go to court to seek permission for a residence order or special guardianship order to also gain parental rights. It can take months and months instead of a trip to local court with downloaded form witnessed by a notary. It all needs to be brought into 2017. The Children's Act is to protect children and this isn't. I have my grandson due to his mothers death and mother and fathers substance abuse. I have no legal rights for my grandson. This all needs to change.

  • Child support from absent parents
This is important because a child's well being needs to come first. A child doesn't choose to be put here or choose to have an absent parent just toss them to the side. We need to teach the next generation that we stand up to our responsibilitys. It takes 2 people to create a child so therefore 2 people are responsible. It's important that the parent that has full time care is taken seriously, which at present we are not.

  • Keep brexit-mixed marriages together.
Partners in brexit-mixed marriages don't know if their family will be torn apart by political horse-trading. The stress of not knowing what the future holds for them is unneccesary. Giving them dual citizenship is an humane solution and is the easiest thing to set up. It avoids creating special categories, procedures and measures to administer.

  • Make Jermain Defoe and Bradley Lowery Sports Personality of the Year 2017
For once a footballer has stood up and been a proper role model for kids and shown them how to behave. Awarding Jermain wouldn't just be for him but an award to show that being a good, decent person in a money orientated game is the best way to be. Thank you Jermain Defoe.

  • Save our lollipop man for Sutton Manor Primary
Our school is on a very busy road with links to the motorway and link road near by. Traffic seem to use this road a lot as a short to these routes. I feel our children will be in danger and many fatalities will occur? If we lose him .

  • Make housing developers be transparent in Manchester
Current planning law states that if a developer will make less than 20% profit on a new development, they can ignore a council's regulations about building affordable and social housing. Leaked documents from several developers have shown that the maths they use to work out their profit margins are purposefully misleading, allowing them to claim they will make less than 20% profit on a development by undervaluing the prices of the houses they will sell and over-costing the labour. To combat this Islington, Greenwich, Lambeth and Bristol councils have introduced a policy that forces developers "viability assessments" to be made public. By bringing these dodgy maths into the public domain, Councils, campaigning groups and individuals will be able to hold developers to account and force them to use more honest maths.
