Although opposed by Philip Davies, Conservative MP for Shipley, he did not call for a vote and so it was introduced by acclamation. The debate was well attended by Labour MPs, including Jeremy Corbyn. We think it’s positive the Bill wasn’t voted down, was presented by a Labour MP and has the support of the Labour front bench. But it needs to be published in full before its second reading on 4th November 2016, so we'll be keeping a close watch. **UPDATE 12/3/2016** We have been amazed at the number of people who have signed this petition, even since the debate closed. Fantastic. Please don't be put off signing as every signature helps to show and build support for the Bill.** **UPDATE 11/3/2016**The petition was formally handed over on 11 March 2016, on the day the Bill was discussed in Parliament. The Bill was filibustered by Conservative MPs who spent 4.5 hours talking about their Bill, so only 17 minutes was left for the NHS Bill. However, there is a huge groundswell of support for the NHS Bill, and we will be looking at ways to reintroduce the NHS Bill to Parliament. But we need to build more support from MPs, especially those in the Labour party. So PLEASE do write to your MP asking them to back it. The campaign continues.** The NHS in England is being dismantled. NHS services - including acute and emergency, children’s, elderly and maternity care - have been deliberately underfunded since 2010. The comprehensive care we’ve come to expect continues to be cut back. Many services have been handed to private companies such as Virgin, Serco and US giant United Health, hiding behind the NHS logo. Valuable NHS buildings and land are being sold off to property developers, often as a result of the exorbitant costs of paying for new hospitals built under the Private Finance Initiative (PFI). These are our services and our assets. We the public own them. And polls repeatedly show that most of us want to keep our NHS. Privatised services cost the NHS and tax payer far more than when provided by our publicly owned and publicly run NHS. That is because public health systems don’t seek profits. They don’t need to pay dividends to shareholders. They don’t have the added costs of private sector loans. And they don't have to pay the management fees that private companies charge. A public NHS also doesn't have privatisation’s heavy marketing and contract administration costs of extra lawyers, accountants and management - at least £4.5 billion annually on one estimate and rising. Just cutting them, not NHS services, would go a long way to cover the shortfall between government underfunding and the NHS' needs over the next 5 years. These huge commercial costs and the chaos caused by the ongoing NHS fragmentation are the direct result of privatisation. This is endangering the quality and safety of our public healthcare. Privatisation isn’t just bad for the tax-payer. It's bad for our health. The Bill was presented to Parliament in July 2015 by Caroline Lucas MP with the cross-party support of 77 MPs. It is backed by the Green Party and the SNP, as well as by Jeremy Corbyn, John McDonnell and other Labour MPs, one Plaid Cymru and one Liberal Democrat MP. Hundreds of volunteers and some paid staff, who are practitioners of a number of different therapy practices, including reflexology, aromatherapy or massage, acupuncture, healing and Reiki, Tai Chi and others are important to make sure people with cancer will loose their funding. Patients who are receiving palliative care need to be made as comfortable as possible and deserve the best care which these complementary therapy services provide.

NHS commissioners in Bristol plan to open up NHS contracts to tax avoiding companies and corporations. They are asking Bristol GPs to vote for a change to the constitution of Bristol Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG). This change would sweep away current restrictions on tax avoiding companies. It would allow private companies with tax avoiding strategies to secure contracts for NHS services. Then they will be able to rob the NHS twice over. First by siphoning off a profit from NHS funds and then by using strategies to avoid paying any tax. Our NHS is entirely funded by taxation: if less tax is collected, less funding is available for the NHS. Bristol CCG have been advised by their lawyers that if they do not make these changes, they may face legal challenges from tax-avoiding companies – although to date there no evidence that any CCGs have been challenged as described. Whichever way, our public services should not be threatened by corporate power and greed. The constitution of Bristol CCG is correct to exclude tax-avoiders from NHS contracts and this clause should be retained and supported. How will this make a difference? Protect our NHS, a Bristol campaign group, used this clause in the CCG constitution in 2015. It helped us to be successful in defending Bristol and South Gloucestershire Children’s Community Health services from privatisation. We argued that companies, such as Virgin Care, avoided paying tax in the UK and that Bristol CCG could not, therefore, award them the contract. Whilst we and the public are not allowed to know what went on behind the closed doors of procurement decision making, Virgin Care did not get the contract. This was in contrast to their successful bids in Devon and Wiltshire. Why oppose tax avoiders? Our NHS is almost entirely funded by general taxation. If tax is not paid, there will be no NHS. Only big companies can afford to set up tax avoidance structures and the rest of us – as individuals or smaller companies – pay our taxes or get fined. Bristol CCG, and its Bristol GP membership, should oppose tax avoidance because it is unjust, unethical and starves the NHS of money. Far from wanting to change its constitution, it should be proud of it. It was thanks to a campaign by 38 degrees in 2012 that the constitution included a clause about tax avoiders. We came together to make sure that ethical and moral considerations would be included into commissioning decisions, and this was accepted by the CCG at the time. To go back on this commitment now would be a step backwards. This petition provides the CCG with evidence that patients and the public wish them to stand by their constitution and drop their plan to amend it. The council county are under severe budget cuts and are having to look at all the services they provide. This includes adult services which covers the day centres Sadly day centres are not a statutory service so it is not something that councils have to provide Newtown day centre serves Newtown and surrounding area. It is essential to the people who use it. Providing care and company. Many users say they don’t know what they would do without it as it is their only life line and if they didn't have the day centre they wouldn’t see anyone all week This is a sad situation for our residents that need the support of a day centre and families and carers that use it for help with respite care We are calling on the Powys County Council to please consider the effect that losing the day centre in Newtown would have on both the service users, families and carers if it was to close. Newtown is the largest town in Powys so it has a large population of people who can benefit from the day centre, providing care, company, a meal, friendship, entertainment / activity and much, much more

South Gloucestershire Council currently uses glyphosate chemical herbicides on our streets and parks despite there being viable safe alternatives and despite the fact that the World Health Organisation (WHO) has identified glyphosate as likely to cause cancer in humans. The WHO finding sits alongside a wealth of existing evidence that raises alarming questions marks over the long term safety of exposure to glyphosate both on its own and in combination with other chemicals found in formulas such as Roundup. The use of glyphosates has already been banned or restricted in 8 countries. It is not acceptable that our children, ourselves and the animals we share this county with are being routinely exposed to these chemicals whether we like it or not. The Council needs to exercise the precautionary principle and follow the example of cities such as Chicago, Paris and Rotterdam by banning this spraying in public places. This is a matter of great importance and urgency for those of us who care about each other's health and the health of our children, our dogs and cats and all the flora and fauna of this county, and of course including our beloved bees. There are viable safe alternatives to glyphosates. The Netherlands have outright banned glyphosates in public spaces and are using a hot water treatment instead. A hot water and foam method is also available in the UK and South Gloucestershire Council is already aware that this can be a more effective alternative than hot water on its own. Glyphosates are the cheapest option but we must send the message loud and clear that value is not just about price and that the health and safety issues around glyphosate render its 'cheap and easy' status irrelevant. Other effective methods may cost more in cash terms but represent far better value to local residents. Using a formula such as glyphosate or Roundup in our public spaces is simply unacceptable no matter how cheap and quick it makes the task of urban weed management. Other European cities have already banned them and now Glastonbury have paved the way here in the UK and have now banned glyphosates and are implementing the foam/hot water method instead. At their next meeting, Bristol City council will vote on whether to do the same following a petition that was handed in on 19th January. People-power stopped these pesticides elsewhere - can 38 Degrees members in South Glos stop them here too? If you think chemical pesticides, that have serious health concerns, no longer have a place on the streets of South Glos then please sign the petition and also email your local councillor and request that they stop spraying outside of your property and all areas! The GP Walk In Centre located at Asda Hereford was originally opened in December 2009 and is used by many people. This walk in centre is a vital service to the community. It has been threatened with closure previously. In 2010 it was looking at being moved to the A&E department at the County hospital Glenda Vaughan-Powell (then Councillor) successfully campaigned to keep it open with a 700 signature petition handed to the Hereford Mayor, calling for the new centre to stay south of the river. We are again faced with possible closure. Please sign this petition thus adding your support to keeping this centre open in south Hereford.

This is important as 3,000 people will have to relocate to other Surgeries in Redruth. The other surgeries are already full. Many of the people registered at Cardrew have previously been registered at other surgeries and were not satisfied with the treatment they received. Redruth is a forever growing and expanding community. So many more houses being built in and around the area. Many people commuting into Redruth and surrounding area for work. The Cardrew Health Centre has become a very important and much needed surgery. This walk in Health Centre must NOT close. There will be too many people of various age groups left without a Doctor. The staff that work in the Centre will become unemployed and have to claim benefits, putting themselves and their families at risk! This Centre MUST stay open, it is a very well used and much needed Surgery. This Centre is important to my family and friends. A high number of people in and around Redruth do NOT drive so Cardrew Health Centre is close enough for many people to walk to. The staff are always polite, helpful and caring.

I have a tribunal appeal coming up 4th Feb 2016, after been found fit for work. Even though I had to take ill health retirement from my job of 17 years. Due to Psoriatic Athritis. All medical evidence was disregarded. The assessment process is purposely flawed to find people fit for work. It must be stopped as people are dying due to this. Please support me in my fight to end this governments agenda to destroy the benefits system.
