• Improve Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services in Scotland
Children requiring CAMHS services are made to wait months for initial appointment then even longer for assessment. There are NO out of hours services for children and adolescents out with Edinburgh and Glasgow meaning children in crisis are kept in paediatric wards with NO trained staff. There is currently only ONE small inpatient unit in Scotland which can admit children under 12 which cannot usually take acute admissions due to lack of beds and staff.

  • Fair Treatment for M.E Patients
Approximately 44% of patients are misdiagnosed with other conditions such as Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and POTS. Doctors need to know how to recognise the condition and services need to be improved to offer sufferers better options than Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Graded Exercise Therapy which has recently been proved does not benefit the patient and in many cases, makes them worse. The psychological approach to treating ME in the United Kingdom needs to end. Patients being classed as having a psychological disease which they have not got means they are generally ignored and other serious medical conditions are missed. The rate of deaths from ME is rising and it's time the NHS did something about it. The NICE Guidelines need to be reviewed in light of the IOM report which has been completely ignored by the Department of Health and patients need to be taken seriously. Current research is just being completely ignored and certain medical professionals are controlling the entire system, not allowing any other specialists access to work with ME patients. Not enough money is being pooled into NHS ME services, many have been cut and most are patchy and offer limited support and treatment. The 25% of bed-bound patients, the severely affected proportion of sufferers are not seen by anyone, they lie in bed, in darkness, ignored by the medical profession. Clinics should offer home visits to bed bound patients. Studies by Chris Snell and Prof Mark Van Ness have proved that exercise makes ME patients worse yet the UK insists on forcing exercise upon it's patients.

  • Force the BBC to report Doctor's letter
As business leaders have been widely reported warning of possible Labour damage to the economy, why has the BBC made no mention of this important intervention by top professionals warning of possible Tory damage to the NHS. Not reporting this letter is political bias, and allows a huge section of the population to be misinformed about an issue that is of huge national importance.

  • Force the government to look at access to local NHS dentists
This so important, there has always been an on going joke about the Dental health of people in England, well being someone who after 2 years of not seeing my own dentist I was removed from their books, meaning that just something as simple as losing a filling, I now have to see an emergency dentist with no follow ups and then being told I had to still find a new dentist to take me onto their books. So I registered on to the waiting list to be offered a place for an NHS dentist when one became available. Well I got the call saying there was a place available, but it is almost 12 miles away in a village where I would have to catch 2 buses and a train to get there, which would take 2 hours to get there. This is ridiculous, why she people have to suffer this way, especially when there is so many dental surgeries with in a 10 minute bus ride away and not one of them is taking on new NHS patients, This really needs to be looked out and to be sorted.

  • child specific autism disabled badge
as a mother, auntie and sibling of somebody on the spectrum , I know how hard it can be.The reason for my petition is that i believe that the current system of gaining a blue badge for my child is wrong and deliberately discriminates against the condition and displays a clear lack of understanding of the true nature of the condition and the impact it has on its families

  • end VAT on medical equipment
Life saving equipment such as automated defibrillators and electric chest compressors are already very expensive, but to have to pay VAT on top is making NHS services less able to provide these. In Rural areas where an ambulance can take a long time to reach a person who has suffered a cardiac arrest, an automated defibrillator can mean the difference between life and death. In the Scottish Borders we send patients to Edinburgh for heart surgery such as fitting of stents. If the person arrests in transit it is not possible for a paramedic to provide effective CPR for the entire journey, particularly in a moving vehicle. An electric chest compressor has been shown to increase survivial rate in this type of circumstance from zero (as it is not possible to physically continue effective CPR for long periods of time), to an amazing 50 percent survival rate. Sadly this piece of equipment is £10,000 plus VAT. Surely it cannot be right for the government to give a budget to the NHS and then claim a substantial part of it back in VAT.

  • Ask the Department of Health to Better Safeguard Young Children from Prescribed Psycho-active Drugs.
To prevent these potentially toxic drugs being over-prescribed to under six year olds causing possible neurological harm and consequent serious side effects before a young child's brain has finished developing to maturity. Several professional bodies for child mental health workers actively share this concern about the short and long term risks to the children affected by these increasingly common 'quick fix' medical interventions for behaviour management.

  • Save Ladywell Crystals and Healing in Glasgow.
After a 5 year fight, our landlord is demanding a huge sum of money for repairs bills and that we vacate our premises, destroying the business we've worked so hard to build up over the past 6 years. We've established a lovely spiritual community here, employing many therapists who provide help to many in need of healing. All we ask is for justice to prevail.

  • PETITION FOR AN INDEPENDENT HEALTH REVIEW OF THE EARLS COURT REDEVELOPMENT
Residents are concerned about the effect on their health and wellbeing of demolition and construction work on the site taking place over the next 20 years. In particular, we note that there is asbestos contained in Earls Court Exhibition Centre One building and that its removal (particularly from the roof and external walls) could represent a major threat to residents' health. It is particularly important to carry out a review now, as there are reports of plans for increased density on the Earls Court and West Kensington Opportunity area which will have a major impact and have not been assessed. The assessment should consider all the risks to health and wellbeing which include pollution, traffic congestion, noise and vibration, air quality and asbestos removal. Local residents, business owners, workers, trade union branches and tenants associations must be consulted on who carries out the independent assessment and its terms of reference. The health review should be: completely open, transparent, independent and comprehensive with all documents made public. Kensington and Chelsea and Hammersmith and Fulham Council to hold public hearings where local residents can present their own evidence about the health risks and decisions on the findings of the assessment take place in public. Campaign created by Guy Rubin, Green Party candidate for Chelsea and Fulham, David Akan, Green Party candidate for Hammersmith, Robina Rose, Green Party candidate for Kensington.

  • Save Liverpool Women's Hospital
All the maternity and women's health provision of Liverpool was pulled into this one site. It's a much loved hospital. It provides crucial specialised care and the daily joy of new babies. #one born. The driving force for closure is a clumsy funding structure not the needs of women and babies. The alternative of wards in the new Royal is not an equivalent. This is a modern hospital on a good site. Our taxes built it for our babies and for our women.

  • NO to poison parks in Falmouth, Cornwall
The community of Falmouth, Cornwall, is facing a very real health issue and NEEDS YOUR HELP! As of March 20th 2015 GLYPHOSATE, the active ingredient in RoundUp weedkiller, was re-classified as “probably causes CANCER” by the WHO (the World Health Organisation). Most of the community are unaware this weed killer is used in ALL parks and play parks in Falmouth; including Kimberley Park, The Bowling Green Play Park, The Princess Pavillion and The Dracaena Centre. GLYPHOSATE stays active in soil for up to 6 months. This is scientifically proven; Neutralization upon contact is a marketing myth. Children and dogs may still come into direct contact with the chemical (and may ingest it) when playing in areas, which were sprayed weeks or even months previous. Babies may crawl and dogs may sniff where GLYPHOSATE is used The areas are UNMARKED and NOT cordoned off; there are no warning signs! This chemical is also scientifically linked to Autism and Parkinsons; though the more common effects include Asthma, Eczema and Allergies. Please see links below for further details if required. It's imperative to the health and future of the community of Falmouth, Cornwall, that WE help ban this unnecessary chemical, from one public park at a time. This isn’t political; it’s just practical. If you're happy to have dandelions instead of probably CANCER, please sign this petition and share it with your friends. • A Cure for Crohn's
There are currently 115,000 people living with the condition in the UK. Crohn's disease can affect people of all ages, including children. However, most cases first develop between the ages of 16 and 30. The number of teenagers with Crohn’s disease has jumped more than 300 per cent in the last 10 years because of junk food and the overuse of antibiotics. According to figures from the Health and Social Care Information Centre, some 4,937 16 to 29-year-olds were admitted for treatment in England between 2003 and 2004, but last year the figure rose to 19,405. People with Crohn's disease can experience periods of severe symptoms followed by periods of remission that can last for weeks or years. The symptoms of Crohn's disease depend on where the disease occurs in the bowel and its severity. In general symptoms can include: Chronic diarrhoea, often bloody and containing mucus or pus Weight loss Fever, abdominal pain and tenderness Feeling of a mass or fullness in the abdomen Rectal bleeding This research is based on the same approach as the cure found for smallpox. Edward Jenner introduced a new term to the language when he ‘vaccinated’ (Latin vacca, cow) a boy in 1796 with matter taken from a cowpox lesion on a milkmaid’s hand. Jenner’s technique, in which he introduced a weaker viral type into the human body, was much less risky than the hitherto inoculations of Variola major. A set of similar circumstances has again led the medical profession to discover an immune system in cows and the research and trials in America and Israel are based on this finding.
