By removing the climate change department it is essentially sending a message that says the conservative part don't care about climate change. Theresa May has selected a cabinet that could be detrimental to the environment. The conservatives, in their election promises, promised a greener government. We now have Boris Johnson, a climate change denier, Andrea Leadsom in charge of energy; who had to ask if climate change was real and a team of people just as likely to care little for the environment. At the 2015 general election the results were incredibly disproportionate and demonstrated the inability of first-past-the-post to adequately or legitimately represent the diverse range of political opinion in the UK. Whatever party you support, if you care about preserving our democratic society you will agree that FPTP is a redundant system. The current government leads on a mandate of just 36% of voters, the SNP are vastly overrepresented in Scotland whilst the Greens and UKIP received just 2 MPs between them, despite receiving almost 5m votes. This creates artificial divides and doesn't reflect what people really want. It's time for our MPs in Gloucestershire to speak up for democracy and let our voices be heard in Westminster.

Climate change is NOT an old drab or dull issue. Is is THE single most important issue facing humanity and our species. It will define the 21st century in the way that World War defined the 20th century. It must not be ignored by the new Prime Minister. The climate is changing rapidly. This is causing rapid destruction of biodiversity and is increasingly leading to extreme weather, shrinkage of the polar ice-caps, melting of glaciers, rising sea-levels and a catastrophic change to global weather patterns. This is leading to human conflict over space, food and resources, and is the driving force behind the migrant crisis the world is experiencing. We must not ignore this issue because it will engulf us!

An upsurge in scare stories about EU migrants was followed by a wave of violence against immigrant families. With racist attacks on the rise, it is vital that we all now unite against the hatred and division that has been poisoning our public discourse for so long. We understand that £25 is a fee that better enables the Party to cover its costs. However, the scale of the increase paired with the unexpectedly short deadline has inadvertently closed this option for the least fortunate in our society, whom the Labour Party exists to defend. An extension until 8 August gives: - People an additional two weeks in which to save the money - Assurance that those receiving Jobseekers' Allowance or other statuary benefits will have received at least one payment before the deadline - An increased likelihood that those on a contract of unfixed hours will have had undertaken paid work before the deadline - The ability for people to wait until after the end of the month, a common payday throughout the UK - More time to adjust personal budgets to better account for the expense We call on the Labour Party to assist with minimising the impact of poverty on this democratic process whilst still ensuring it is in a position to cover the costs of running the Registered Supporter scheme.

The actions of the NEC are so undemocratic they do not belong in this country. All across society they have excluded members and supports with bitter choices. This cannot be allowed to go on in The Labour Party.

UK has voted out of the EU and needs all hands to contribute to the national development. If illegal immigrants who are already in the United Kingdom are granted amnesty, they will play a major role in the development of the country. An amnesty could yield an additional millions of Pound Sterling a year of Income Tax and National Insurance receipts. Granting an amnesty to the illegal immigrants who are already in the country will bring them out of the shadows and into the real economy and they can contribute to the tax system. In the process of granting an amnesty, they will pay fines so the legalisation will not be dependant on a taxpayers’ money and it will be self-sustained, and also to have a proper criminal checks. The case of amnesty extends beyond economics. It is also a human thing to do. Regularising status to illegal immigrants avoid vulnerability exploitation and destitution as well as avoid creating a situation in which they are more likely to be pushed into the black economy. In extreme cases, illegal immigrants can slip into sexual exploitation and forced labour. The Prime Minister, Theresa May said , the government she leads will be driven not by the interests of the privileged few but promised to give more control over everyone's life in the country. Illegal immigrants really want to take up jobs to support themselves, their families and the national development but they are unable to do so as their lives are restricted in a multicultural country where the whole world look up to due to resident permit. Please grant amnesty to these illegal immigrants who are already in the country to live a normal life and to contribute substantially to the national economy.

Never has there been such excellent fodder for political satire. We need some light relief in these dark times.

Under the current rules, MEPs and employees of the European Commission can continue to benefit financially long after the nation-state that they represented has ceased to be a member of the Union, even if they - as individuals - sought to disrupt and undermine the work of the Union and its institutions. Freedom of expression and the right to dissenting opinions must be sacrosanct, however given the adverse financial risks triggered by secession that will be faced by all EU citizens generally and the citizens of the seceding nation-state in particular, liability for the non-contributory pension arrangements of MEPs or European Commission employees via arrangements that applied when the nation-state was a member in good standing should fall on the former member nation-state as part of the Article 50 secession process. Furthermore, any funds accruing to the former MEP or former Commission employee in a secondary contributory pension scheme should be transferred into private arrangements within their own nation-state so that they are equally exposed to the risks and benefits that may affect the citizens in their own country.

With the instability in both the labour and Tory parties, the upheaval following the Brexit campaign, a new Prime Minister and a newly entrenched Labour leader. The political situation in Britain is far too fluid for an important decision like this to be made right now. With so little notice there is no chance for an informed debate on such an important subject.

The younger generation, including those not old enough to vote in the referendum, are the ones whose lives will be most affected by leaving the EU. The union of the UK is at stake because Scotland and Northern Ireland did not vote to leave the EU. We are now a nation divided between the generations and the different regions of the UK. We need time to assess what has happened and how to respond. It is the responsibility of our MPs to ensure that such a far-reaching decision is taken objectively and democratically, with full knowledge of the consequences. There is doubt in many peoples' minds that the referendum was truly democratic because it was influenced by misrepresentations of facts and promises that could not be delivered. So further democratic processes should be involved in the decision. More than 1000 barristers have written to the Prime Minister giving their legal opinion that there should be primary legislation debated in Parliament in order for Article 50 to be triggered. The content of their letter was reported by the Independent and other newspapers on 11 July 2016.

The Sun newspaper is part of News Corp - Rupert Murdoch's media corporation. As such it is not only highly biased but has often published inaccurate, misleading or false information. It has recently been censored on several counts by the press watchdog the IPSO and ordered to publish corrections. • It promoted racial hatred by falsely claiming 1 in 5 British Muslims support jihadis. • A piece about Unite - Britain's biggest trade union was found to have 10 separate inaccuracies in just 1 article. • It encouraged animosity between football fans by printing falsehood about Liverpool supporters at the Hillsborough disaster. • It's owner has a direct audience and influence within the Tory leadership. • It advocated the use of gunships to stop refugees. • It has even put words in the queen's mouth by saying she was pro Brexit. Despite all this it has faced no real consequences and continues to spread misinformation, for example: about anti-semitism within the Labour party. Whilst we believe in freedom of the press, the people deserve media outlets that report accurately on their world so they can make informed choices as citizens. Lies should have no place in UK media. The Sun is lying to people en masse. We believe that the Co-op as one of the most ethical shops on our streets should lead the way in holding the Sun to account.
