Lack or work life balance destroys family life. The UK is near the top of the list of countries for working the longest hours. As a teacher and union rep I have seen that overwork causes stress and mental and physical illness. Taking away the working time directive due to leaving the EU will only make this worse as it will take away the protection of breaks in the working day and the limit to hours overall. The law gives EU workers the right to a minimum number of holidays each year, rest breaks, and rest of at least 11 hours in any 24 hours; restricts excessive night work; a day off after a week's work; and provides for a right to work no more than 48 hours per week.

It is utter hypocrisy for you to continue to draw your salary after June 2016. You should go out and look for a proper job.

Not only do Cornwall's farmers and fisherman currently receive benefits from the European Community's Common Agricultural Policy and Common Fisheries Policy but the county has received tens of millions of pounds a year in structural and convergence funds to support local economic growth and communities. In the 2014-2020 budget Cornwall had been allocated 592 million euros. Should Britain leave the EU before 2020 it is essential that this allocation is matched to continue the growth and development which Cornwall needs.

Voting on Thursdays as opposed to Sundays is great for old retired folk with little to do, but is clearly not great for busy young people probably working on zero hours contracts and with children to take to, and collect from, school. About 50 other countries use Sunday. Just one other country uses Thursday. Michael Gove has been the most divisive Education Secretary in living memory. He has undermined the teaching profession and the education system and set children up to fail. We believe his repeated grave errors of judgement make him unfit to lead the country and we do not wish to serve a government with him at its head.

Maternity rights protect every woman in the UK. They make sure we aren’t passed over for promotion due to being on maternity leave or that we can come back to the same (or similar) job after time away. Whether by accident or design, Nigel Farage has become strongly linked to Greene King IPA. Pubs quite rightly bar some people for their unpleasant or offensive behaviour that upsets decent, well-behaved customers. I'm sure that I and many others were deeply offended and embarrassed by Nigel Farage's recent speech in the European Parliament and would not want to drink in any of your pubs if he were there. The TPP and TISA will give multinational companies powers which are above the Law. Many people voted to get out of Europe because they agreed with Labour veteran Tony Benn and wanted to stop this agreement in its tracks. There has been very little media coverage of agreements like this which gives corporate entities huge legal powers. Open and honest discussion is essential and long overdue.

In the post brexit world it will be essential for our country to be in full control of all the means necessary to survive. On our own we would have a diminished ability to negotiate favourable terms with the rest of the world and In such circumstances we cannot risk putting ourselves into a position where we can be held to ransom by any foreign government or multinational corporation. The only way this can be guaranteed is to own and control all the things required to be self sufficient in what will become a hostile trading climate.

Fracking affects us all - Scotland is beautiful, its our greatest asset and fracturing the earth to obtain natural gas will lead to multiple issues affecting peoples everyday lives. Our water table is at risk, fracking involves drilling and injecting water, sand and chemicals hundreds of feet into the earth. This results in contamination of deep water sources. Climate change, because fracking can seriously damage the water supply, then the whole cycle of water in the environment is affected, this may lead to drought increase. Peoples Health is affected, methane gas in the air, chemical pollutants in the water. There are cancer concerns in areas where fracking has been prevalent. Property affected negatively in fracking areas, insurance companies refusing to insure buildings. Smell of gas in the air. Noise of drilling especially in rural and semi rural areas, affecting quality of life for humans and animals alike. Jobs promised - far fewer jobs than promised Cheap gas - evidence suggests this is not the case There are many more reasons, but let's stop it happening here. Let's stop big business and cronyism benefiting at our expense, stop them by-passing planning and environmental laws to suit their own ends. Stop them ruining our fantastic country. Sign this petition and urge Scottish Government to ban fracking NOW.
