Philip Green's behaviour in relation to BHS has yet again highlighted the loopholes and weaknesses in UK law governing the handling of money and finance. Green's behaviour is not untypical and it is clear that there are people who will always seize opportunities to make themselves wealthy with no heed for the consequences to other people and to society at large. The law needs to be changed to take account of this inevitable human behaviour so as to prevent the damage that arises from it. Removing Green's knighthood may satisfy a need for revenge but it does not even approach solving the problem.

This matters to the people you have impoverished. It matters to the whole of the business community that you have disgraced. It matters to the nation which cares for its reputation as a global leader in corporate governance. It ought to matter to you that your name is vilified and is become a byword for amoral greed. It matters to me because it matters.

There is some concern that Facebook and Twitter are being manipulated in order to undermine political debate in the UK. Many people who suggest this are accused of being paranoid or conspiracy theorists. Facebook and Twitter have the resources and data to confirm whether or not this is true, and if it is true to confirm whether or not it is a technical breach of their Terms and Conditions. It is also within their power to indicate the likely source of such a campaign. By conducting such an investigation and publishing the results, 2 of the largest media organisation in the world have a powerful opportunity to send a message about what is acceptable behaviour in political discourse on social media, and more broadly to make a strong statement about the value of fairness and honesty in democratic society.

ARM Holdings designs a licenses their designs to chip manufacturers, these designs are embedded in a vast proportion of the smart phones that we all use. SoftBank, the Japanese company that is to buy ARM, has guaranteed that there will be investment and no significant changes, our government supports the sale. ARM are well placed for the Internet of Things, are already profitable, so what is the motivation for the sale other than to get shareholders a payout on their investment? This is a short term approach. SoftBank is in debt to the tune of £75 billion, the takeover is £24.2 billion, they will have to borrow for the takeover ( The Independent). A government endorsed sale of a successful company well placed for future developments, why?

I, like many others, have been going to Chessington World of Adventures for many years and my children have enjoyed all the activities tremendously. Imagine my horror then when I saw that the "Professor Burp's Bubbleworks" ride is to be closed after the summer holidays. Typical! Even though it's a magical ride for all ages, it's a godsend on a hot day when you need to escape from the sun for a while, it's a restful ride for exhausted parents and grandparents and a calming ride for over-excited little ones, no doubt it's got to go because it doesn't make enough money. Why can't they just spruce it up with a lick of paint and just re-vamp it a bit? Chessington is a more suitable park for babies and toddlers because of the zoo, so it's madness to take away one of the rides aimed at this age group, surely? Have they conducted any surveys or handed out any questionnaires before taking this insane decision, I wonder? It would appear not, from the huge number of incensed comments I have already seen plastered all over facebook, all saying how much this particular ride means to them. Please take a moment to sign this petition and add your name to the chorus of disapproval before it's too late and Professor Burp is no more. Even if we cannot save the Professor from certain death, perhaps we can ensure that his replacement ride will at least be specifically for the littl'uns (and preferably another cool, indoor ride) and not another stomach-churning ride aimed at teenagers, who are already well catered for.

We base our choices on a number of variables, and environmental concerns are one which inform my decisions. I was duped by an international corporate fraud into purchasing something that wasn't what it purported to be. VW should either buy back the vehicles they mis-sold or compensate the owners for the fraud they were the victims of. This is happening in the US where the government has been very strong. I believe our government should act in a similarly robust fashion and force VW UK to offer a similar compensation.

Many people are not able to use the bus service due to the high costs, or the long waiting times. Also many people are in poor health, and have no choice but to use the car to either attend appointments or visit the hospital. The parking at present is exceptionally poor, and many have to go home without visiting patients as they cannot get parked.

The Chelsea Farmers Market is one of the few remaining outdoor independent trading locations in the heart of Chelsea reflecting the great history that made the Kings Road and surrounding areas a place individual to the rest of London, a thriving village. Any plan to demolish this would remove a heart of the community that is different from any where else in Chelsea. Only this site offers a unique outdoor experience to diners and shoppers. The Kings Road has increasingly become like any other High Street in England, however The Chelsea Farmers Market offers an escape from this by providing relaxed outdoor experience all year round to the residents and visitors of Chelsea. It's a unique destination enjoyed by all walks of life. The loss of The Chelsea Farmers Market would be another nail in the coffin for independent traders and individual community space for the sake of the commercial and financial gain of the minority. We need the power of the local residents, visitors and Londoners to help prevent this change to an area that will be demolished and never be re-created. Your signature can help preserve one of the few existing open air trading spaces, save jobs and prevent another concrete jungle from being developed.

Bikes are banned from Southern Rail on the day of the British Heart Foundation London to Brighton ride - in stark contrast to the last time I rode it when thousands went up to Clapham Junction on trains specially adapted. Seats had been taken out in half the train for bike storage - cyclists got to London safely without polluting the environment - and the train company sold huge numbers of tickets for early trains on a Sunday morning. Now, the only way to get to the start is a fleet of coaches put on by the British Heart Foundation or taking a folding bike on the train as I did. Vast numbers of participants ended up puting bikes in cars or vans to get there because there was no usable public transport option. Since 1976 nearly a million riders have taken part in the ride. Our founding motto was Bikes for Clean cities. Now, thanks to Southern’s lack of co-operation unnecessary pollution is being created, time and money wasted. The brilliant Heart Foundation organising team tried asking Southern to put on special trains for riders as used to happen but they are not interested. It’s an outageous state of affairs - thousands of riders needing to get to London early on a Sunday - and a direct train service but an operator not prepared to accommodate them.

All councils with beaches should start enforcing strict (and expensive) anti-littering on the spot fines. The state of our coastline is becoming disgusting and adds to worldwide ocean pollution . The fines would easily pay for the wardens and would act as a deterrent.

We are a close knit civilised community who would like the opportunity to educate our children the best we possibly can with home schooling. Having the option to have internet installed will allow us to educate our children the same way other children receive education in main stream schools. We currently have to sit on a waiting list from the library to gain access to the many books needed. With the internet we can instantly access all key stages for education and use helpful sites such as BBC Bite size, and also find direct help and advice about home schooling with out going through 5 or 6 different companies. It may not seem important to those who have everyday access to the internet but for us, it feels like we are depriving our children and living 10 years behind. If we can educate them properly then they will have the option to go to college or university, hopefully get good jobs and live better lives then we could ever of imagined. As you all know the children are OUR future. So please sign & help us get somewhere.
