I have set up this petition to draw attention to this crisis! North Lanarkshire Council are preparing to remove our beloved & highly qualified early years practitioners from their current positions in council nurseries. They are looking to replace with lower paid and newly qualified practitioners, who will not have the years of experience & bond with our children that our current practitioners have. We need to draw as much attention as we possibly can to do our best to prevent this from going ahead. This does not only affect parents, child and early years practitioners directly also our whole school/nursery community. They have helped us immensely with our children's development, self confidence and relationships that they build with other children and most importantly the practitioners who look after our children. North Lanarkshire Council have the power to stop this going ahead so us as parents, practitioners and community need to draw their attention to how wrong this is. So please please please sign this petition to help with this!!

Pilgrims Way is not only a residential road, but also houses a doctors surgery, two entrances to Hesketh park and the start of the footbridge to The Leigh Academy along the length of it. Vulnerable patients using the health centre are put at risk when crossing this road. Before and after school, hundreds of students use this road, having to dodge the traffic. Users of Hesketh park, including young children and members of Dartford Cricket club and Hesketh park Bowls club also deserve a safer road. - Surprisingly, there are currently no safe crossing points along the whole stretch of this road and the speed limit stands at 30mph. - As a Newtown councillor I have spoken to local residents who advise that drivers often use this road as a cut through, tending to speed along without consideration of the children and often vulnerable pedestrians crossing over. - Active travel such as walking and cycling should be something that is being promoted, but with such an unsafe road, people are being discouraged from using these alternatives to driving for getting around. Residents, patients using the health centre and children walking to Hesketh park to use it's excellent facilities and The Leigh Academy have a right to feel safe when crossing over this road. Prompt action needs to be taken by Kent County Council in the form of a safe crossing point and lowered speed limit, in order to safeguard pedestrians and reduce the likelihood of a serious injury occurring.

Uckfield Leisure Centre and swimming pool is being threatened with closure. For many Uckfield residents, the Leisure Centre is not just a gym and pool, but a vital part of the community. It is where our children learn to swim and where many of their parents learnt, too. Older residents remember paying for the pool, donating to the Uckfield Indoor Swimming Pool Trust in the 1980s. The Leisure Centre is not just a council building; it is our pool and we want it protected. With thousands more homes planned for the Uckfield area in the next 5 years, we need more public services - not less. Our Youth Centre has already been shut, leaving our young people without an indoor social space other than the pool. It meets their curriculum needs of learning to swim, saving school time by reducing travel to other towns for lessons, and the environment. Like our young people, families and older residents also benefit both physically and socially from swimming and the many other sporting activities provided at the Leisure Centre. It serves the whole community like few other places do. We know that times are tough. Many of us are feeling it more than we ever have before, and are making difficult choices as a result. We ask that Wealden District Council does the same, by finding a way to look after our Leisure Centre and save our swimming pool. We see that money, many millions in fact, can be found for our neighbours in Crowborough and Hailsham, and we are pleased for them. We all deserve good, local public services. We just ask for some of the same. Please, protect our pool and save our swimming.

The BBC is trying to hide the sixth episode by relegating it to iPlayer viewing only. Apparently it examines precisely who and what is destroying our wildlife and gives examples of rewilding which is opposed in some right wing circles.

The episode which features conservation and the challenges faced and features some of the destruction of nature in Britain will receive a limited showing. This is due to political pressure, it's alleged. If you signed for Gary Lineker can you sign for those who are truly without a voice? We can make sure that the whole series of 'Wild Isles' gets an airing by signing this petition to the Director General of the BBC.

Freedom of speech and the expectation that the BBC will hold power to account are essential if we are to live in a free society. The current management of the BBC is no longer able to uphold these basic standards and must reverse both decisions to cancel two national treasures for speaking the truth to power.

The BBC have behaved disgracefully for suspending Gary Lineker and they should resign

We must face up to the forces which are destroying our natural environment if we are to save and preserve it for future generations.

Outside the headquarters of the BBC in London is a statue of the writer George Orwell. It bears the words: “If liberty means anything at all, it means the right to tell people what they don’t want to hear.” In a series of tweets Gary Lineker did just that. He told the Government that its policies to tackle illegal migration were inhumane and cruel. Rather than accept the freelance sports presenter was speaking from a position of genuine compassion, right-wing MPs immediately called for him to be removed from the BBC. The broadcaster should have stood up to this baying mob. If it values free speech and, above all, if it values its independence it should have defended Lineker’s right to voice views which may be unpalatable to others. The BBC has undermined its own reputation for impartiality by caving into the demands of the right-wing press and loudmouth Tory MPs. To take Lineker off air is not only craven but hypocritical. The BBC chairman, Richard Sharp, remains in place despite helping facilitate a loan guarantee for Boris Johnson. Other presenters have not been silenced despite airing right-wing views. The Mirror has launched a petition calling for Lineker to be reinstated. We urge anyone who values liberty and free speech to sign it.

Britain is a very choral and orchestral country: vast numbers of people participate every week in choirs, orchestras and bands. The presence of top professional ensembles gives a lead to people's activities, as well as providing listening pleasure, and growing a knowledge and love of music throughout people's lives. Anyone who understands this will feel the losses the BBC proposes.

Millions of people are unpaid carers,or getting a small pittance if they do receive carers allowance.these caregivers are saving the government millions.if the disabled person had to go into a home for care it would cost thousands .help the caregivers as they are doing a phenomenal job and if they are of state pension age don’t get any financial help.it’s an extremely hard and stressful job,surely a small allowance isn’t much to ask .please help.
