In July alone, 3,848 job losses have been announced in the Welsh Aviation industry. That figure only covers sites with union membership and agreements. There could be many more jobs at risk. Until the pandemic, Welsh Aviation had seen 10 years of growth – with excellent apprenticeship schemes bringing young women, as well as young men, into highly skilled engineering jobs. In 18 months, perhaps less, this sector will be back on track – as long as these jobs are protected. If not, they'll be gone forever. We are calling on Central Government in Westminster to listen to Welsh aviation workers and stop this tsunami of job losses.

There is a perfectly good access road from Callywith College that was built for the explicit purpose of providing access to this new development. This road currently sits unused. The proposed access road from Castle Street however, will result in demolition of an existing home, currently housing a young family of 5 with disabled children. It will blight a neighbourhood of vulnerable residents with significantly increased traffic. And will cause avoidable and unnecessary environmental damage through the destruction of a hedge row, and the tearing down of oak trees.

We are seeing an increase in both motorbikes and cars speeding through the village, putting themselves, other motorists and pedestrians and local families at risk of serious injury or death and creating excessive noise pollution. The government has spent billions to help protect Britain during the coronavirus crisis. Now Rishi Sunak, the chancellor, is looking for ways for the government to make this money back. Increasing capital gains tax - instead of cutting things from those who need it - could be a fair way to help cover the cost of extra spending during the coronavirus pandemic. It means the financial burden of the pandemic is removed from those of us working on the front lines, struggling to feed our families, or losing our jobs. Taxing the wealthy for assets like art or second homes will mean those of us who can afford to pay more do, and those of us who can’t don’t have to.

The Bank of England is bailing out huge businesses with billions of pounds of taxpayers money - but some of these businesses are destroying our climate, avoiding paying tax, and laying off workers. It doesn’t have to be this way. The government could choose to only provide Bank of England bailouts to companies that protect jobs and the climate, and pay their fair share of tax. Or they could continue - businesses as usual - and dole out taxpayer money irresponsibly. Campaign groups have been working hard to uncover the scale of this crisis. And public polling has shown that 63% of the public think big businesses should only receive public bailout money if they agree to these key conditions. But if we are to stand a chance of building a fairer, greener country after the pandemic - we’re going to need to turn up the pressure. A huge petition - signed by hundreds and thousands of members of the public will send a clear message: only bail out businesses which help build a fairer, greener future.

We need these staff members as they have expertise in support services to ensure that care can be delivered safely and effectively. Years of austerity and cuts have meant the NHS is now broken and needs to be rebuilt. In the NHS we need a massive recruitment drive that includes recruiting staff to work in support functions. We are demanding no cuts to NHS jobs.

Motorcycles and scooters have parked at the Groves since the 1950’s. It has become a tradition enjoyed by Cestrians and tourists alike. Many of these riders are involved in local charities including the North West Air Ambulance, Easter egg runs to the Countess hospital and Teenage Cancer trust and use the river site to meet, network and organise events. Over the years they have raised thousands of pounds and delivered vast amounts of Easter eggs and toys to sick children locally. Without this meeting place not only will the Groves lose a part of its heritage but there will be nowhere in the immediate area for bikes to park in any numbers making it very difficult to plan future events. These riders have supported local charities for years and now ask for your support to continue.

We cannot continue to accept that our community suffers from heavy traffic, associated pollution any longer and need change. The west side of Hither Green / Catford North cell area could be a pleasant place to live and work but it continues to be blighted by: • Heavy traffic / congestion with associated pollution • Use as a cut through / rat-run between Lewisham High Street and the South Circular (and vice versa) Having seen other schemes and potential associated benefits - we would also like an LTN / HNS to: • increase physical activity through more walking and cycling • provide safer streets for our residents and particularly our children • significantly reduce non-residential traffic through our community • deliver improved air quality • benefit our local businesses • support LB Lewishams environmental objectives Please sign this petition to help make our community a Low Traffic Neighbourhood and to become a safer, more pedestrian / cycling / family friendly place to live, work and shop. The Women’s, Men’s and Mixed bathing ponds on Hampstead Heath are world-renowned gems for wild swimming – cherished by a large and diverse community who swim in all seasons and across the decades to maintain mental and physical health. Some people come in search of quiet solitude in nature; others for community, solace or sanctuary. The unique setting, atmosphere and inclusive ethos of the bathing ponds are threatened by the City of London Corporation’s decision to impose compulsory charges and use intrusive technology. The Corporation has replaced voluntary payments of £2 (£1 concession) with compulsory tickets that cost £4.00 (£2.40 concession). Many pond users have previously contributed to a donation-based system but support the fight to oppose compulsory charging because it will destroy the inclusive and diverse pond community. At a time of unprecedented health and financial emergencies, and when inequality is an urgent social concern, it is wrong for the Corporation to demand payment.
