Approximately 700,000 people in the UK provide UNPAID care for a loved one with Dementia, saving the Government £11.6 BILLION each year. ... Without these unpaid carers, the UK care system would collapse, leaving millions in crisis. Yet when these carers find THEMSELVES in crisis, they are routinely told that somebody will respond to them in 5 - 10 days or that respite care is unavailable due to a lack of funding. Alzheimer's Society reported these facts as far back as 2014 and yet the situation continues to deteriorate. ... And with the number of people living with Dementia expected to exceed 1 million by 2021, things are set to deteriorate further still. There is lack of children's early learning services in Kearsley. This Childrens Centre has been revamped and is in a perfect location for many people from farnworth , kearsley , Clifton & so on. As a disabled parent this Centre is a perfect location, not only that having that comfort from going to the centre for a while & then changing to another location and closing this one down makes it much more awkward.KEARSLEY also needs a nursery school. At present it's at Lord Street and as stated previously parents cannot be at two locations at the same time. Lord Street and St Stephens/Spindle Point. The other Kearsley nursery is Kearsley West, but they don't accept early ages. So my question? Why does Kearsley not have a council nursery for pre school children? Also if the council are to revamp the centre in Farnworth why? Why can't people travel to Kearsley to a purposed built centre which had already been revamped? Why waste even more money on a building when you already have a perfectly revamped and neutral positioned Childrens Centre to then close it? Birch Road Centre was to be built and opened for a short time and then closed. Let’s Keep Kearsley Childrens Centre Open, Sign This Petition & Make A Difference.

The swimming pool is part of Drumchapel history and community children, parents and grand parents go there regularly. It is unacceptable and therefore closure will not be accepted. Swimming is a life skill; we must ensure that our children are given a chance to learn to swim. What is important is that it is not only a sport but can save someone from drowning which is the most common of accidental deaths in children. Swimming is also important for the elderly or infirm to be able exercise without straining joints. Swimming is important for rehabilitation and physiotherapy. Glasgow life have also started charging nursery school children and OAPs which could have been avoided. Drumchapel is one of the most deprived areas in Europe; the swimming pool is the only publicly funded facility which the entire family can enjoy together.

When food waste is put into landfill it decomposes anaerobically and therefore produces methane gas. Methane is a green house gas which is contributing to climate change. As of 2017 44% of councils have started collecting food waste and Swindon needs to catch up.

As more and more of our country side is converted to pesticide covered mono crops, our Welsh wildlife is becoming more reliant on our gardens for food and shelter. But there has been a massive increase in people choosing to cover their gardens in artificial/plastic grass and thus turning our gardens into wildlife deserts offering no food. Watching a Blackbird or Song thrush searching for worms and invertebrates on artificial grass must be one of the saddest sights in nature! No insects can live there and no seeds or flowers are produced and so you remove the food source for birds, hedghogs, shrews, slowworms, frogs, bats, moles, butterflies, bees and many, many more species. Add to this the fact that artificial grass does not soak up carbon dioxide and will eventually end up as yet more plastic rubbish taking thousands of years to biodegrade. The "State of Nature" report clearly warned us that we need to change the way we run our lives if we are going to reverse the dramatic drop in our wildlife numbers. Be careful of the manufacturers arguments as currently they are making big profits and its easy to pay PR experts to promote environmentally damaging products. They will argue that with artificial grass you do not need to water or use chemical fertilisers but in Wales you should rarely need to water and there are organic fertilisers which can be used. Finally, please support our petition and I have no doubt that once people are given the full facts about the damage artificial grass does to our Welsh wildlife they would choose to support nature and garden sustainably.

This is an important area for the biodiversity of the Country Park and if it goes ahead will disrupt a long eared owl roost, an area for amphibians (Including great crested newt) and reptiles, and not so common birds on passage such as spotted flycatchers, wheatears, redstarts, winchat etc. We have just found recent evidence of badgers in the area with one definite sett further up the haul road route and one potential sett on the disputed section of land in the country park. This is an important species to find on Fairlop Plain as up till now was thought to have been totally lost to the area. There is also quite a bit of bat activity along the strip though species are currently unknown as only seen on remote trail cams for badger monitoring. As well as being disruptive to users of the country parks bridleways and footpaths especially the crossing point from Aldborough Hall Equestrian Centre, we expect dust generated from the road surface to also be a health issue. Lorries will potentially be travelling along the road in both directions at up to 3.5 minute intervals. We believe that this haul road is divisive to the community and cannot be accepted by those that care about the natural environment of Redbridge and the protected species whose habitat would be destroyed forever.

Special Guardianship holders are often forced to give up their jobs or reduce hours to care for their children due to the children's behavioural difficulties caused by the trauma of their early lives. Currently special guardianship allowance is set by guidelines instead of legislation. This means many families live in poverty as local authorities often pay nothing. Government legislation would ensure special guardianship families are financially supported equally instead of the unfair system we have now, in which many families are given little or nothing. Of those families that are lucky enough to receive something, this is often stopped after a period of two years leaving them in financial difficulties. Special guardianship allowance should be paid until the child reaches adulthood. The cost of keeping a child in care may be as much as £70,000 annually, so surely it is better to support special guardians with a realistic financial package to ensure special guardianship does not break down due to financial stress, thus saving millions in the long run.

We need to make this a safe place for us, our children and everyone else who wishes to use the park to an advantage and not have to avoid the area because of the above reasons.

28-8-2018 - The QE2 Bridge was closed from 2.20pm and not fully re-opened until 6am the following morning. During this time, local people and people from further afield were held up in hours and hours of delays with completely grid-locked traffic. This is becoming more frequent as the area gets busier and more development takes place. There must be plans in place to stop total and utter gridlock to our area. This not only disrupts local residents, it is detrimental to all the business who operate out of this area. So many hours are lost due to sitting in un-necessary traffic jams! SOMETHING MUST BE DONE!!!

In your response to the Taylor Review of Modern Working Practices, ‘Good Work’, you rightly stated that it is important that everyone “has the ability to … earn a living to support them and their family”. We therefore hope that you will agree with us that it is outrageous that staff within your Department who keep it safe every day, clean the office, deliver the post and serve food are on poverty wages. For example, it is neither safe nor acceptable that to feed their families, security staff must work a minimum of 60 hours a week. This is at the same time as being on the front line of keeping a Whitehall Department safe. You will know that the Prime Minister has promised the “greatest extension of rights and protections for employees by any Conservative government in history”. We hope that you agree with the PM that this should extend to those working for the government and in government buildings, including your own. As you will be aware, many Departments already pay a proper liveable wage, including HM Treasury, the Department for Work and Pensions, Department for International Trade and Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. In fact, this is something your staff (from the former Department of Energy and Climate Change) fought for, won, and are rightly proud of. In addition, the Houses of Parliament, where you have a Parliamentary office, is also a Living Wage Foundation employer and so those staff that clean one of your offices are paid a liveable wage, while those that help run your Department are not. I am sure you agree this cannot be right or just. Back in 2016 the Trade Unions sought to engage positively with your Permanent Secretary, Alex Chisholm. Despite initial early indications of a positive approach, including confirmation that increases in pay were both affordable and within the Department’s gift, the Unions have at best been met with intransigence and indifference since then. We hope that given your commitment in the Industrial Strategy to be personally responsible for “improving the quality of work”, you will agree with us that when it comes to people’s livelihoods and ability to look after their families this attitude is not acceptable. We, the undersigned, are now calling on you to intervene and commit to paying at least the London Living Wage to all your support staff, and to holding proper discussions with the Trade Unions on their terms and conditions.

The Fife Health and Social Care Partnership want to close the Primary Care Emergency Service (GP out of hours) run from St. Andrews Hospital. They propose to move the service to Kirkcaldy. . Local GPs say that the proposed new service represents an unacceptable loss of local service that will threaten patient safety and impact most profoundly on our elderly patients and on families with children. As a result of the distance involved in having to travel to Kirkcaldy to access services, North East Fife patients will be the most significantly affected by these proposed changes. In addition our community hospitals and palliative care units will be left without local medical cover during the out of hours period. The secruity of Britain relies on both a strong navy capability and a strong economy. To achieve a strong economy in Northern Devon we need to protect the jobs at Appledore Shipbuilders and continue to develop the high skills economy that is required for modern shipbuilding. The opening up of the competition to build the Type 31e to include overseas shipbuilders could lead to the diminishing of Britain's capability to provide for her own security needs. As a naval warship it is vital that we retain the skills needed to build and maintain the vessels within Britain, both during peace time and at times of conflict.
