Thank You Gina Miller!Gina Miller has suffered abuse and threats of violence from hateful people who do not understand the situation, and do not care to learn. We want Ms Miller to know that we will not stand for this bullying. It is not representative of the best British tradition of tolerance and acceptance of the rule of law, free speech, and due process. We will continue to oppose all forms of hatred and it is a testament to Ms Miller's character that she persevered under such tremendous pressure. The lies and bias in tabloid newspapers, on social media and propagated by bots has convinced some individuals that Ms Miller has obstructed democracy - but we fully understand that the opposite is true, and are forever grateful to her for this. Thank you Gina! https://files.38degrees.org.uk/items/files/000/000/111/display/brexit.gif4,163 of 5,000 SignaturesCreated by Danielle Anson

wet wipes: require manufacturers to make them bio-degradeableInstead of trying to guilt the users, why not require manufacturers to make these useful items bio-degradeable? There are those of us with medical problems (colo-rectal issues) for whom wet wipes have been an absolute Godsend. But in these cases it would not be possible to dispose of them in domestic waste as they are akin to common toilet tissues. Bio-degradeable versions would be an obvious answer. Surely the manufacturers could be encouraged or even required to develop a sewer-friendly version rather than keep blaming the users.43 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Miss J. A. Fox

Eastbourne Library ClosuresOur libraries give their local communities not only the opportunity to borrow books but also provide them with the opportunity to use the internet which is something many cannot afford to have in their own homes. The libraries have for many years also been used to introduce local school children to the joy of reading. Over the years I have often been in the library when library assistants, with the assistance of their teachers , have been reading stories to them. Whilst you could argue this could always be carried out in school, which it could, the act of them leaving their school as a group and walking to the library is also teaching them how to behave in public. The libraries also provide a brilliant service to the elderly who want to use the internet but possess neither the money to be able to have it installed at home or indeed are not confident enough to attempt to use it without assistance. Librarians provide a sterling service in being able to assist them if they do have difficulty in using the internet. We have already had libraries closed within the Eastbourne area which has caused difficulties for many people but these further cuts are a cut too far. If these proposed closures are allowed to go ahead it will be mainly those on low incomes that will be affected, many of whom are elderly. Please sign this petition to stop this round of cuts but at the same time contact your local councillors and MPs to support this petition.97 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Ted Edwards

No Tesco at Whitton/London Road TwickenhamTwickenham High Street has a high turnover of shops, and the dreaded 'Twickenham Refurbishment' sees many small independent shops constantly close down. Another Tesco is not required on the parade killing the few small independent shops that are already established at that end of the high street. What is needed in Twickenham is variety of shops to bring a higher social impact to the community and more people to the high street. This is not a good location for a Tesco which will have an adverse affect on traffic and noise for local residential neighbours. Numerous alternatives exist that would better serve the local community and strengthen its economy in these tough financial times. There are already 5 other Tesco's within a short distance of the proposed location. When the planning application is received, planning officers must notify the public or neighbours, and consult with other council departments and any other affected people or organisations. The statutory consultation period is three weeks. I will post the link here when the application has been added to the online planning portal. If there are issues of concern, the planning department will instigate a review meeting within six weeks of registration of the application and identify amendments that could address any issue or problems.238 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Alex Powell

Please Think Again: Don't fell our tree"The 150-year-old beech tree, next to the ground of North Ribblesdale Rugby Union Club, on public land within a Conservation area, has been earmarked to go as part of plans to improve drainage of the pitches, which can get heavily waterlogged in winter. Permission for the tree to be cut down was given by Craven District Council planners in June. But members of ROOTS - Respect Our Old Trees in Settle - have called upon the rugby club to come up with another scheme which would leave the tree intact." We feel that not enough time has been allowed to look at alternatives to destroying a healthy, mature tree. The tree is part of a beautiful avenue of trees. We do support improvements to the Rugby Club field beside it but wish to preserve the tree & believe this can be achieved. Quotes taken from Stuart Thompson's article in the Settle Herald and Pioneer on the 13th September: http://www.cravenherald.co.uk/news/15530647.More_Settle_townsfolk_join_group__39_s_campaign_to_save_rugby_club_beech_tree/ Please have a look at this short film made independently by a local person https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DmCO1VBn3U0859 of 1,000 SignaturesCreated by Angie Pedley

A New Zebra Crossing in Tattershall on High StreetThere is nowhere safe to cross the road in Tattershall. There is a steady flow of traffic and not everyone slows down when they reach the village. Children, Elderly and other members of the community often have to negotiate their way across traffic just to do simple daily things like going to school or going to the shops. I am proposing a Zebra crossing this has several benefits. Our children, our elderly and ourselves will have somewhere safe to cross the road. Traffic around the schools will slow down cutting out the risk of any serious incidents. Because High Street is a major route for a vast number of trucks and farming vehicles with a zebra crossing this will still allow a steady flow of traffic and will only slow down when the crossing is used. I personally don't want to wait for a serious accident or even a casualty before anything is done about this.492 of 500 SignaturesCreated by Isobel Wilding

Speed Limit on Stone StreetMany hidden driveways and side roads also no pavements making it dangerous to access the B2068 ,reducing the speed will help to make the road safer not just for vehicles but pedestrians ,this road is well used by local people and we have been asking for many years for a reduction in the speed limit, living close to the road is becoming increasingly dangerous we need a speed restriction to slow the speeding traffic down before we have anymore accidents !!!!80 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Christine Spry

No Parking Zone & Zebra crossing outside All Souls School CheritonWe love our children and we want them to be safe but when people park outside the school on double yellow lines this is dangerous and selfish. Also drivers park obstructing the crossing further putting children's lives in danger. A child has already been injured how long before there is a fatality! We need Kent County Council Highways/Shepway District Council to ensure that a no parking zone and zebra crossing is put on the road outside the school and enforced by traffic wardens and the police.179 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Kay Lees

Equality for Disabled StudentsFull: Students living with mental, and/or physical, disabilities have certain needs which requires suitable accommodation. For example, a student suffering with ASD who is unable to complete day-to-day tasks will often be provided with ensuite accommodation in a smaller flat. DSA (Disabled Students Allowance) used to ensure that disabled students would not pay more for their accommodation due to their needs. However, for the past few years this responsibility has been passed over to universities. For the past 3-4 months I have been contacting the University of East Anglia (almost twice a week) in order to confirm that my peers and I will receive an accommodation discount as we have before. They have been reluctant to answer, and it is clear that nobody is responsible for ensuring that disabled students are not discriminated against. These discounts vary, but can reach sums over £1200. It's simply not fair to charge disabled students extra due to their disabilities. The first representative of UEA I spoke to informed me that it was unlikely the discounts would go ahead this year. This is clearly in breach of the Equalities Act 2010, and I am truly worried that the Conservative government has failed to protect disabled students as this problem is not occurring just at UEA. Most recently the University of East Anglia has informed me that students with disabilities will be offered accommodation in the Village, and the sole reason for this is because of its price it seems. Despite being situated far from central campus, and not being able to meet the needs of those with physical and/or mental disabilities the University views this as the best option. I was offered accommodation which suits my needs within the main campus, but now I'm being told that in order to receive a fair discount I will have to move to a room which may not be adequate. They can't guarantee perfection, but they could act in the interests of students. If students remain in the suitable rooms, they will not receive a fair discount. I'm calling on the government to impose a frameworl upon universities. Universities have been acting with discretion, and have failed to advertise that discounts are available. Reducing expenditure seems to be at the forefront of university policy, as opposed to supporting students and facilitating their learning. There needs to be clear guidelines for all universities to adhere to. I will be sending this petition to the Minister for Universities, the Education Secretary, Leader of the Conservative Party and Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Vice-Chancellor of UEA, and the Director of Student Services at UEA.10 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Thomas Howard
