Save our local supermarket in Covent GardenThere are 7,000 people living in Covent Garden, many in social housing who are elderly or disabled who depend on their local supermarket for food. There are many more who work or study in the area and shop at Marks and Spencer regularly. This is a very busy food department. The nearby Tesco is also under threat. It is reported that the reason for closure is that the rent for the premises is too high to make a profit. Someone has got to compromise. We do not need yet another designer store. The community is being destroyed and Covent Garden is being turned into a playground for wealthy tourists. This petition is backed by the Covent Garden Community Association. www.coventgarden.org.uk316 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Covent Garden Community Association London

Bring back baby weigh and health worker to Cranbrook Cornerstone Baby and Toddler groupCranbrook is a vastly growing town with a huge population of children under 5. In fact we are in the top 5% of the country and to take away a service that has been offered for nearly 5 years at this thriving group is a huge blow. Our group is inclusive and caters to children of all ages up to preschool and so is much more suibale for parents who have children of various preschool age. This group supports families old and new and helps people forge friendships in what can sometime be an isolating time in new parents lives, especially if they are new to the area. Baby weigh and health services were a big lifeline to new parents as they could meet other new mums and dads and often their children will grow up with the group and stay with us until they start preschool. Now we have lost this vital service, we have lost a lot of babies coming to group which in turn may mean we will not have the toddler's coming along when the babies grow up. We are aware there is a Tuesday session available but by all accounts this day is not suitable for all and by taking away the Thursday session it will put more pressure on the Tuesday group with waiting times and maybe not being able to seek the advice needed from the health worker in attendance as so many people will want the same.104 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Kelly Curran

Organic Teabags Shouldn't Be Allowed To Contain PlasticBritain drinks 165 million cups of tea a day. Council food waste composting schemes recommend composting teabags. The plastic layer within the bag will break down when composted and has the potential to enter the food chain and damage the environment. The 2007 paper 'Microplastic—An Emerging Contaminant of Potential Concern?' Dr M Browne, T Galloway, and R Thompson states "Organisms with a range of feeding strategies can ingest and accumulate microplastics." Section 41.6.8 of SOIL ASSOCIATION ORGANIC STANDARDS (AUGUST 2016) states: To minimise the direct and indirect environmental impacts of your packaging during its life cycle, you must: minimise the amount of material used, maximise the amount of material that can be reused or recycled, and use materials with recycled content where possible. Surely where teabags can be made using a string-and-tag system, this would mean that they should be in order to meet the requirements for organic certification?834 of 1,000 SignaturesCreated by Ruth Walton

Traffic calming measures on Battersea Park roadThere have been a number of major accidents including fatalities on Battersea Park - in particular outside Tesco metro where there are two bus stops and the road splits. It's only a matter of time before a local resident is hurt or killed by reckless drivers who speed, overtake, undertake on that stretch of road. Accidents in the last year alone include: - a serious motorcycle collision injuring two people - a motorcycle incident killing the rider - a car flipping over17 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Jo BT

Ensure kingfisher & maternity are a 24/7 consultant-led unit at Dorset county hospitalLoosing consultants at Dorset County Hospital (DCH) would downgrade our hospital, DCH is desperately needed it provides a 24 hour service to many severely poorly children and many at risk expectant mothers, families will be torn apart due to travelling and there will be a massive amount of pressure on A&E plus GP's as many children will loose open access in which they can go straight to the ward bypassing A&E &GP'S Also this will see an increased demand on emergency services ambulance service's in particular, There's plenty of room to expand the kingfisher ward for extra beds !! #saveourNHS966 of 1,000 SignaturesCreated by Naomi Patterson

Take action on derelict 347-349 Lee High Road SE12 8RUThe flats on the first, second and third floors of 347-349 Lee High Road (above BetFred and above the entrance marked 'Garage') have been empty for a long time, and the building is becoming derelict. The property was registered by Lewisham Council as an S215 (Town and Country Planning Act 1990) enforcement case in 2016 (ref. EC/16/00357), site inspections took place in December 2016 and May 2017, and letters were sent to the long-term owners, a company based in Jersey, giving a deadline date for repairs to be completed. However, no repairs have been done, and the situation is getting worse. Lewisham Council's Empty Homes department has also been involved in the case for several months, but has also been unable to make progress with the owners. The three upper floors are in very poor condition, with broken and permanently open windows and pigeons breeding in the rooms. Pigeons fly continuously in and out of the building, populating other parts of the Lee Green crossroads, in particular two other nearby neglected buildings. This is leading to serious health and nuisance issues involving the fouling of windows, facades and pavements. The permanently open windows in all weathers are also leading to interior deterioration, which is putting neighbouring properties on either side at risk. The building itself is part of a 19th century terrace of heritage value, which could provide much-needed, good quality housing. Many people who live and/or work in the area are concerned at this long-term worsening situation, and are desperate for something to be done.460 of 500 SignaturesCreated by Gill Stoker

We need a bridge with pedestrian lifts at Abergavenny StationThis station is on the mainline route from Swansea/Cardiff to Manchester and Holyhead, and serves a huge area of Monmouthshire and South Powys, the Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains as well as the town of Abergavenny. There are 2 ways to reach the far platform at Abergavenny. One is by a steep footbridge which has 45 steps and is difficult to negotiate, especially in bad weather. The other is to cross the line, accompanied by a member of staff. If you wish to do the latter, then you are expected to phone to notify your request to travel at least 24 hours beforehand. If you wish to travel out of office hours, there will be no members of staff at the station and you are dependent on the guard or the driver of the arriving train to accompany you across the line. So much for spontaneity of travel for many people! We want a bridge with passenger lifts to give full access for disabled passengers, older people and those with heavy luggage. 30% of the population in Monmouthshire is over 60. We were granted the money and planning permission for the bridge about 5 years ago. It never happened because Network Rail could not work out what to do about the position of the signal because the driver’s view of it would be blocked by the new bridge. We demand that Network Rail solve this problem, find the resources and, either replace or resite the signal in order that work on a bridge and lifts can commence. This is not just important to local people; Abergavenny station is used by visitors to major events such as The Food Festival and the Green Man Festival, the Hay Festival, and the 2016 National Eisteddfod. All these events bring visitors and revenue into the area. If you believe, like the organisers of this petition, that this situation is not good enough and that there should be equal access for all at the station, please sign this petition.1,118 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Abergavenny Rail Access Campaign

Traffic calming measures on A647 PudseySince the reconfiguration of the A647 Leeds/Bradford Road there has been an increase in reports of very dangerous driving. Drivers regularly speed up and down the length of the road from Bradford to Leeds and back again, turning at the roundabout at Dawson's Corner. Drivers also regularly jump the pedestrian lights outside the Woodhall post office and there has been several near misses involving local residents including children and babies in prams. The police have been informed on some occasions when we have been able to get car registration numbers, however traffic calming measures are desperately needed before someone gets killed or severely injured.555 of 600 SignaturesCreated by Lisa Jamieson

Save Annet House and Gardens!Annet House is a stunning Georgian town dwelling and garden on Linlithgow High Street. Known as the rigg, the gardens would have been used to provide the everyday necessities for the family living in Annet House. The rigg today is maintained in a way that incorporates the species and varieties of plants that would have been growing in Victorian times. Spread over four levels the rigg also has a maze and Linlithgow's only known ice house. In a matter of weeks West Lothian Council will relocate the artefacts to the new Partnership Building and put the house and its stunning gardens up for sale. This part of Linlithgow's heritage will be gone and lost to the people of the town forever. Let's save this valuable resource for generations to come!507 of 600 SignaturesCreated by Clare Rainey

Stop L'Oreal from damaging local, small business.Naked Soap Company is a small, local family business based in Dalgety Bay, Fife - dedicating to passionately making handmade bath products for or customers. We believe in creating safe, natural products whilst providing a local, friendly service, our customers are our shareholders, our shareholders are our employees - we are a true local cooperative working towards creating local jobs, boosting the local economy and providing high quality products. No global corporation should hold the power over small businesses due to a single word - a word that determines and personalises a business. Yes, it may be easy to change a business name, but if that name encompasses the business' personality, it's ethics and it's origins then it's not an option at all. Corporations should not be able to determine the future over local business due to a single term. We want the IPO to tighten the rules on when oppositions can be made and the nature of such oppositions. Allowing global corporations to swamp local business in red tape, expensive legal action and threaten them with releasing their name should not be permitted. Stand by the Naked Soap Company in standing up against L'Oreal's bully tactics and prove that global corporations cannot eradicate the existence of local business.2,140 of 3,000 SignaturesCreated by Naked Soap Company
