Make sure Horden's Banner march through our villageOver the last 2 years, Horden banner and band have not marched through our wonderful village, due to the fact that people would rather be at Durham Big Meeting a lot earlier. This has left many residents left standing to wait for the annual morning wake up by the loud music from the band, and for them to pass while they stand on the street corner, which has never ended up happening. Residents would like to see the annual march through the village continue, with prior notice on location, time and the route the banner will make, as well as an opportunity to travel with the banner to Durham.138 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Darren Meadows

ACT NOW TO OBJECT TO PLANNING APPLICATION (K/25/16/PL) ON WEST KINGSTON BEACH!The application goes against numerous policies in the Arun Local Plan. The site is outside the built up area, where the only development that might be approved would be sea defences. A planning application for a shelter for one boat was rejected in 2015 and the refusal was upheld on appeal, because the small shelter, less than one metre high, was considered to harm the open character of the beach and was therefore contrary to policy GEN7 of the Local Plan. An enclosure 2.85 metres high to accommodate 60 boats, which includes a building 13.6 metres long, must also be contrary to planning policy. There are also practical problems about the site: the roads approaching it are private, and the owners have said that they will note provide the Open Dinghy Club with the right to use them. There is a section of car park between the road west of the site, South Strand, which is attached to the house south of it, and its owner, Caroline Bond, has said she will not allow the club to cross her land. So the site can only be reached on foot or from the sea, and construction of the enclosure and building seems impossible. Please let Arun District Council know your thoughts, today.545 of 600 SignaturesCreated by Jessica Moore

Save Houghton Field of DreamsThe area in question is the land to the North of Blind Lane in Houghton and has been green, open space for over 40 years and is used by the local community for recreational purposes. Due to several new build developments locally, this is now the only area of green , open space in the locality and is vital for the local community. In 2012, Sunderland City Council carried out a Green space Audit in the area and it was found to be the largest and highest quality green space in the area. It was also identified as serving three purposes; an outdoor sports facility, an amenity green space and as forming part of a green corridor in the area.604 of 800 SignaturesCreated by Marcus Grundy

Save our A & E, Baby Unit, and Stroke Department. North Devon District Hospital. If it closes the nearest A & E Departments are Exeter 54 miles away. Taunton 50 miles. Travelling times depend on the volume of traffic and can vary from day to day, and we are talking hours NOT minutes. Both require traveling along 'The Notorious A361' link road to the M5. Anyone with a medical condition called S.V.T. Supraventrical Tachycardia, has to get to an A & E Dept with urgency for a drug called Adenosine. Which has to be injected intravenously then followed by a flushing injection to stop the heart for a split second to get the TWO Halves of the heart to beat normally again. This procedure needs at least TWO Doctors & 3 Nurses present. This is just one, there must be Hundreds if not thousands of medical conditions that need immediate attention I personally had to move house twice to be near an A & E, I don't want to move again at 70yrs old.9,419 of 10,000 SignaturesCreated by Irene Cowe

Address Concerns Over Education & Child Well-beingWe have the right to expect that those in government with responsibility for children’s education will take their well-being fully into account when making changes to the education system. It is becoming increasingly apparent that many experts in child development, neuroscience, education, and child mental health have serious concerns that the current education system is unfit for purpose and damaging to our children’s well-being. As concerned parents, carers, teachers, and members of the community, we call on the Department for Education to: - Provide independently verifiable proof that child development, well-being and mental health were taken fully into account and given due consideration during the process of reforming the National Curriculum and testing regime; - Provide endorsements from independent experts in child development, neuroscience, education, and child mental health that these changes are in our children’s best interests and contribute positively to nurturing their education. If these conditions cannot be met and the education system remains open to serious allegations of being damaging to children, immediate action must be taken to make the necessary changes. This petition will be delivered to Damien Hinds MP, Department for Education. Experts who have spoken out against the changes to the education system include: • Professor Mary James, Professor Andrew Pollard, Professor Dylan William – three of the four members appointed to the Expert Panel by the government to advise on the construction & content of the new curriculum, who later distanced themselves from the finished curriculum • Dr Margot Sunderland, Director of Education & Training at the Centre for Child Mental Health • Professor Terry Wrigley, Visiting Professor at Northumbria University & Editor of international journal Improving Schools • Natasha Devon, appointed by the government as Mental Health Champion for Schools, a role which was axed after she criticised current education policies as detrimental to children’s mental health • And many more academics, educationalists, teachers, subject leaders… Follow the campaign and find out more at https://parenteducationhub.wordpress.com/947 of 1,000 SignaturesCreated by Parent Education Hub

Ex PM Tony Blair should stand trial for war crimesFor public accountability and ministerial responsibility. It'll also set a global presidence for country leaders not to repeat such personal action. All evidences presented by the Chilcot enquiry prove that he did not act with the public interest at heart. He colluded with former US president Bush Jr. on a personal grudge with Saddam, as if there was something to prove.199 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Samit Hussain

Stop the Destruction Of British Archaeology.Britain has some of the most amazing and diverse archaeological remains in the world, however the new Neighbourhood Planning and Infrastructure Bill announced in May 2016 puts all of this at risk, leading to the destruction of our past for good. The current Requirements that force developers to carry out archaeological and wildlife surveys before starting housing projects may be abolished in the new Neighbourhood Planning and Infrastructure Bill. This will destroy archaeological sites and risk the industry that conducts surveys, excavation and preservation of our vital past. “pre-commencement planning conditions are only imposed by local planning authorities where they are absolutely necessary”6 of 100 SignaturesCreated by corinne feuillatre

To Immediately Release Ahmed Guerrah from Detention and to Suspend any plans to deport himAhmed fled from Algeria with his boyfriend after they were subjected to torture, physical abuse often from their own family members. They reached Greece Ahmed got through his Boyfriend did not. They have not had any communication since. We are asking for Ahmed to be immediately released from detention and returned to Plymouth where he has friends and an important support network. Ahmed is a very shy, loving person in the UK he does not appear to be 'Gay' however in North Africa he is seen as effeminate and will be subjected to further abuse and even risk of being brutally murdered. We Believe that Ahmed will not be safe in any detention centre as he will be held with others that are intrinsically homophobic. This puts him at increased risk of both physical and sexual attacks. Much work being done to present new evidence to the Home Office including the important professional and expert reports on the physical and psychological trauma Ahmed has suffered. The first of a series of appointments with experts has been arranged is due to take place on 20th July here in Plymouth which makes the decision to detain him at this time complete madness. Pride in Plymouth has been supporting Ahmed by reducing the social isolation he has suffered since being in the UK. He is valued and loved by ALL of the 'Pride Family' in Plymouth. Please sign this petition to ensure Ahmed is returned to Plymouth where he has the support and love he needs whilst the necessary professional evidence is collated. It cost the tax payer far more to keep Ahmed in detention than does to house him in the community. Homosexuality is illegal in Algeria carrying an official sentence of three years in Prison. The law in Algeria does not recognise or respect the civil rights of LGBT persons. Officially, there are no gay-friendly establishments and no political organisation is allowed to campaign for LGBT rights. Harassment, violence, and murder of LGBT persons by family members, religious fundamentalists or other vigilant groups is generally tolerated.330 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Mark Ayres

Bradfield wants a Village Hall referendum NOW!Trustees are required by law to act prudently at all times in the best interests of the charity and its beneficiaries and be personally accountable for the proper management of the charity and its assets. Over 70% of the village have supported the Parish Council objecting to the current plans and we believe that the Trustees should seek a clear mandate before proceeding any further.136 of 200 SignaturesCreated by BPAG2016 Updates
