In less than three months, Rakuvaran Parameswaran, known locally in our village as Guru, will face deportation, a decision made by the Home Office earlier this year. Guru sought refuge in the UK eleven years ago when he came to the UK as a fourteen year old boy to escape the threat of death in his native Sri Lanka and to be re-united with his relatives. He believes his parents were both killed in the Civil War by pro Government activists and still fears that he will suffer the same fate if he is forced to return. As a valued member of our community, Guru has already raised over 1300 signatures through a local petition in our small village. He has a job and he contributes fully to village life. He is the kind of person that we want living amongst us (whether immigrant or indigenous) and we want to ensure that Guru’s future remains in the UK, with his friends and family. We need to turn Polkyth back into a surgery with its own patients and its own phone system. Clearly the new way is not working with alot of people not getting their medical needs catered for. For instance, my husband has a lot of medical problems and since its been changed 4 letters and emails from Treliske Hospital had not been picked up and read so he didnt get the treatment the hospital required, 2 bloods wents missing or untested, 6 pages of repeats missing and. That is one person - the amount of fails created by the new system is putting everybody in danger . We need it back the way it was.

Some men will always fight, there will always be tribal wars, there will always be bullies. To put dangerous weapons in the mix leads to death of people who just want to do the best for their families, communities, the world and want to have peaceful lives. Why focus on your town? The targets of this petition happen to be four major employers in my hometown of Bideford, Devon where I was elected on the Town Council in May 2015. One of the first actions I campaigned for was to pay all our staff the full living wage and to become affiliated with the foundation. I hoped this would set a good example to other employers in the area and encourage them to sign up on a voluntary basis. However many low paid people in the area are employed by one of these companies who set pay on a national level. So I came to the conclusion if I was to change this I would have to launch a wider campaign, hence this petition! If we at the Town Council can afford to pay our lowest paid staff a dignified wage in times of local government austerity, so can they! Furthermore most small towns in the UK will have at least one of these establishments in them. So by signing this petition you will almost certainly be helping people in your community as well! I like [insert company here], leave them alone! I also shop at ASDA and (occasionally) drink at spoons. Does this make me a hypocrite? Well no for two reasons. a) There is often little alternative for cheap groceries or a boozy meal in this supposedly free market of ours and b) I'm not saying we should boycott these companies, merely we as consumers and the British public are expressing our unhappiness that their staff are not being duly rewarded. It won't make a difference. A petition like this will never influence the decisions of a multinational corporation! Well neither will doing nothing! The most like petition I could find to this one from 2013 had 34,000 signatures(7); I am aiming for 250,000 this year. That is comparable number to the population of a large British city and hence a non-trivial fraction of their consumer base. The bus route acts as a means of getting to work, hospitals, banking doctors surgery's, shopping and leisure. This is the only regular bus service, which also serves the Flora Thompson villages featured in Lark Rise to Candleford - Fringford is known as Candleford Green and Brackley, Evenly and Bicester feature also by real name in the books. Unfortunately both Northamptonshire County Council and Oxfordshire County Council have effectively decided to cease funding service 8 from May 2016. It will simply not be economic for Stagecoach Midlands to retain the existing service on a commercial basis after that date, but we are hoping to be able to retain a limited off peak service towards the end of the year, when there will be some section 106 money available to fund an enhancement of that off peak link between Brackley - Silverstone and Northampton. The bus subsidy should remain on the route effected by it, until such a time that section 106 money is released later in 2016 that will make the service a commercially run service along its entire route. Based on analysis against the subsidy and value for money criteria set out in the Council’s Bus Strategy, it is proposed that the following services will be withdrawn: Service 8 would be withdrawn between Silverstone, Brackley and Bicester for connections to Oxford. Service would still run commercially between Northampton, Towcester and Silverstone. It is is expected that the villages of Evenley, Syresham and Whitfeld would have some replacement services offered by County Connect. There would no longer be an off-peak or Saturday bus service between Brackley and Towcester or Northampton, or at any time from Towcester or Brackley to Bicester.

The grants for for community needs to help all whom qualify without discrimination against any members, the rewards must be sorted within 10 days and be full rewards in all areas. The management must render the service with out creating delays or using delaying tactics. The grant must be run the same way as dwp did. Must be better formatted application and urgent applications must take only 72 hours. There is no excuses to delays just bad management. Or hand back to dwp. Since the Scottish Welfare Fund and it's management are causing more harm with stress and anxiety due to ignorant, pathetic and incompetent management at this moment. It is not user friendly.

The setts are an integral part of the historic heritage of this area of Portobello, a designated conservation area. They were laid as part of the unified Brighton Place and Brighton Crescents development in the early 19th century by John Baxter. Their removal would be detrimental to the setting of the listed buildings and detract from this part of the conservation area, described as “one of the most attractive, least altered and most architecturally important areas of the conservation area.“ A survey of the 200 closest households indicated that over 80% of respondents support the retention of the setts. Once removed they will never be replaced - this is the last setted street in Portobello and Brighton Place is an important entrance into the town. Setted streets have recently been re-laid in Marchmont and Leith and there is no justification for treating Portobello differently. Local residents have been waiting a long time for a quality replacement of the setts on proper foundations (which has never been done here before), using new techniques and quality contractors which will result in a long lasting and smooth road surface of 40+ years duration, represents good value for money and will enhance the conservation area. The removal of the setts would irrevocably diminish and change the character of this part of the Portobello conservation area. It would also create a precedent for the removal of the setts in other historic parts of Edinburgh, leading to a gradual erosion of the city’s built heritage without a full debate of how setted streets bring value to and enhance conservation areas. This decision undermines the conservation policies which exist to protect our precious built heritage - the very thing that attracts thousands of visitors from around the world to Edinburgh. The decision to remove the setts goes against the council's own conservation policies. If the council is seen to ignore its own policies then how can it with any credibility demand that householders in conservation areas adhere to them?

If the Warriors want Scotstoun, then they should be made to build an equivalent athletic track in the local area.
