Protect Otters from road traffic accidentsThe UK Wild Otter Trust believes that by installing road warning signs and tunnels under new and existing highways that have been identified as having an Otter population, we can reduce the number of deaths caused by traffic. Currently, we are losing hundreds if not thousands of Otters to road traffic collisions every year and this will rise as the volume of traffic increases and the Otter population grows.532 of 600 SignaturesCreated by Dave Webb

School to start later in UKResearch shows that regular poor sleep puts you at risk of serious medical conditions including obesity, heart disease and diabetes – and it shortens your life expectancy. With teenagers waking up between 6-8 ready for school, they are definitely not getting the quality sleep that is needed in order for them to succeed In their life, as they are not concentrating during lessons which leads to lack of qualifications.28 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Ethan Williams

Save Wirral's Library ServiceWirral Metropolitan Borough Council is attempting to save money by drastically cutting the staffing levels of its library service to the point where we question whether it is in danger of breaching its obligations under the Public Libraries and Museums Act 1964. It is proposing to reduce the opening hours of libraries at a time when it is also requiring Wirral residents to communicate with the authority digitally via the internet. Residents who cannot afford broadband must rely on computers in their local libraries. The people who are trained to help them are the very librarians whose jobs are under threat. These proposed cuts will disproportionally affect the poorer people of the borough and also young people who use libraries for research and as a safe, supportive and quiet place for completing.homework and projects. At a time when the NHS is flagging up that the underlying cause of many illnesses is isolation and loneliness, our Local Authority is planning to restrict access to a valuable service which provides community cohesion and support to thousands of the most vulnerable people in our borough.3,325 of 4,000 SignaturesCreated by Rob Oliver

Save Our SurgeriesThe Prime Minister has pledged that everyone should be able to see a GP 8am-8pm seven days a week. Despite this, NHS England have decided that from next September, two GP practices in Tower Hamlets which currently open these hours, the Barkantine Practice and St Andrews Health Centre, will only open 8am-6.30pm Monday-Friday and 9am to 1pm on Saturday. Similar cuts will affect hundreds of practices nationally. Along with 30-40% funding cuts, this means that these practices and others will struggle to stay open at all. Please do not allow these surgeries to close. Reverse the cuts and allow GP Surgeries to continue to provide the excellent services their patients benefit from.2,878 of 3,000 SignaturesCreated by Mostafa Farook

Ban Isothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone and ChloroisothiazolinoneMany people have an allergy to these chemicals and have developed dermatitis and eczema as adults for the first time since these chemicals were approved and began to be used by manufacturers. Some manufacturers list all ingredients on the labels, thus allowing people who realise they are sensitive to the products to avoid them, but a lot more don't list this ingredient although it is included. It also seems that many manufacturers are switching to these chemicals which means that a product which has been tolerated will suddenly become a problem. CPS - Prosecute Red Lion horse slaughterhouse. It is important because animals are suffering, laws are being broken and backs are being turned. Despite the UK having some of the best animal welfare laws in the world, this case shows once again that they are simply not upheld, leaving animal cruelty and neglect to run rife while its perpetrators get away with it time and time again. In our considerable experience, when it comes to the authorities, these welfare laws are simply in place to give the impression of caring and protection for the animals when, in reality, very little exists. Caution, video contains upsetting footage of animal slaughter and cruelty: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ELvbWEUarDw&list=UUCdxkOePfUwgVLRU31wC_tQ235 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Liz Ashton

stay lighter laterIt saves so much energy. Everyone needs the lights on now at 5pm but not everyone is up at 7am! Lighter later campaign run by 10:10 in 2010 was nearly successful. Now people think more about energy and extra leisure and I think it could be successful now if an MP were to introduce it.52 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Hilary Griffiths

SAY NO TO FRACKING IN SOUTH WALES - BRIDGEND, PORTHCAWL + SURROUNDING AREASThe evidence of the effects of existing Unconventional Gas Extraction operations around the world is a serious cause for concern. The potential exists for toxic and radioactive water contamination, severe air pollution, tens of thousands of wells, pipelines and compressor stations devastating the countryside and blighting communities. The geological stability implications are also well documented. This form of unconventional gas extraction is short lived , whilst the environmental impact would last for generations. Fresh water supply requirements is another area of concern, potentially causing widespread drinking water shortages, reduced water quality and driving up prices. Without full disclosure of the long term risks, enabling the people to determine the costs and benefits, licenses cannot and should not be granted. Many European countries and others further afield have issued blanket bans on unconventional gas extraction operations. The reasons for this need to be evaluated in order to decide whether 'we' in the UK are prepared to take the risk. The only way this industry can take hold in the UK is if we allow it, in an open and transparent debate and being aware of the risks. There are many alternative methods of energy generation which can be researched and developed. By declaring Bridgend County free from fracking we will be leading the way to a cleaner and more sustainable future. We can set a precedent for other local authorities by showing that we are making responsible and positive changes in our community. Fracking is not the answer to the UK’s energy challenges. It has been linked to water contamination, air pollution, earth tremors, health problems, decreasing house prices, climate change as well as hundreds of more lorry movements around fracking sites – and crucially, isn’t likely to bring down energy prices, nor create sustainable jobs. The days of private companies destroying our communities to make a fast buck should belong to the past. Fracking is deeply unpopular and keeps us locked in to more fossil fuel use at exactly the time we need to be pursuing clean energy sources such as the sun, wind and waves which provide long term sustainable quality jobs for our communities as well as improving our environment for everyone both now and in the future. A future based on and renewable technology and cutting waste could provide many jobs: renewable energy could support 400,000 jobs across the UK by 2020 and an energy efficiency programme could create 71,000 new jobs by 2015 as well as lifting thousands of families out of fuel poverty. The environment and our communities must take top priority over all else!2,693 of 3,000 SignaturesCreated by HANNAH SINNOTT

Keep domestic fireworks that go bangReturning fireworks to the visual performance of the true firework production professionals (1970's/'80's) WON'T reduce emergency service costs; (most firework accidents are stray rockets, rockets don't always go BANG. SO colourful non noise producing fireworks can still go into a crowd); reduced work sickness (anxiety / depression won't be reduced, as anything else can cause bouts of this to come on also) Why is this important? Fireworks with an explosive bang excite ex-service people, I now plenty that buy these fireworks themselves!. Pets and people go missing around the time of Diwali, Halloween, Bonfire night , Eid, New years (all), other parties they also go missing around any other time of the year. I would say if you let animals out during these seasons legislation on noisy fireworks won't keep these pets safe as the owners can't do what is best by them for these few weeks a year?. The loud bang is necessary to the firework's impact if that is what you like. You could argue that the colourful part isn't necessary to the effect of a fire work if your are blind or not interested in pretty colours. . Please save our planet's freedom of choice and get this noisy element kept. Let's enjoy the whizz ssshhhh of fireworks and embrace the shotgun effect.8 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Simon Herring

Protect Joseph Hood Primary School!Councillors have drawn up and progressed this option with no consultation or briefing with school staff, or any regard whatsoever for the 300 children who will be directly affected if the MAE becomes a residential or commercial property. We are alarmed by the speed of Merton's decision-making and distressed that Councillors have failed to consult - let alone consider - our school community in moving forward to identify their preferred option in isolation. We, the parents, carers, relatives and friends of Joseph Hood Primary School, demand that Merton rethink their "preferred option" until a full consultation has been carried out with the parents and staff of our school as well as with the school's neighbours. #JoHoSaysNO435 of 500 SignaturesCreated by Posey Furnish
