• Ditch the salt on Happy Meal Fries
Parents want the best for their children's health, and we don't want them addicted to salt which can lead to health issues. There is plenty of salt that is harder to remove from their diets, but not coating their fries in salt is a simple action that we can take in reducing their salt intake.

  • Ban Luis Saurez for life from playing in English football
Luis Saurez has proved himself to be a poor role model and ambassador for the sport on a number of occasions. 3 biting incidents are by far the worst examples of his behaviour, but he is also well known to dive, kick out and break rules such as handball with impunity and then celebrate the success of the team after doing so. I do not want my children to watch these acts and believe that they are acceptable in the field of sport.

  • Get FIFA to give Luis Suarez a lifetime ban
Because he has done it before and will undoubtedly do it again and no player should be able to get away with a blatant assault such as this for a third time. Three strikes and your out in my opinion. Not to mention the health issues involved as well that can be spread through biting someone else.

  • Say no to Amazon taking over Tube station ticket offices
Amazon has avoided tax in the tens of billions of pounds and it is inappropriate for them to be given such high profile locations to promote themselves and sell to the public whilst starving the public purse of much needed tax revenue and taking advantage of job losses at TFL with the closure of ticket offices.

  • Tell Northern Rail they can't Silence the Press
On Monday 23rd June, a peaceful protest by members of Sheffield Disabled People Against The Cuts and Barnsley Retirees Action Group was broken up by British Transport police. The protesters were taking part in the Freedom Ride, a long-running protest against cuts to free travel provision in South Yorkshire. Witnesses report that the police used heavy handed tactics. One witness, Jen Dunstan, of Sheffield Disabled People Against the Cuts, said: “Dozens of elderly and disabled people have been left with bruising. Some have cuts where their skin has broken from being pushed and shoved. “A placid and calm gentleman was roughly manhandled. I am angry and shocked. The police are meant to protect elderly people.” A journalist from the Sheffield Star was present, and tried to video events on his phone. He was ordered to erase footage he’d recorded on his phone because he did not have permission to film on private property inside Sheffield station. When he initially resisted the request and continued to film, he says he was told he could be arrested under terror laws. A statement from Northern Rail said: “Members of the media must have written permission from the train operator which manages the station before undertaking any filming on station property. Under no circumstances are Northern Rail employees to be filmed without prior agreement from the Northern Rail press office.” Fortunately, other witnesses were able to video the behaviour of the police on Northern Rail's property. The treatment of the elderly gentleman can be seen here:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Svv9YcyZ6Os&list=UUiZU8ySSrpSg-qhR3BsYSSQ Many people who view this video will think that this treatment is disproportionate for an old man accused of fare-dodging, especially when he is taking part in a legitimate peaceful protest. In the video, five burly police officers are pinning the elderly gentleman down so that he cannot move, despite no visible signs of protest or resistance from him. It is not within the rights of Northern Rail, or any other organisation, to try to ban filming on their premises, when that filming clearly shows a questionable activity taking place with the collusion of that organisation. It is anti-democratic to try to silence the press in this way. Please sign this petition to force Northern Rail to retract their statement, and issue an apology that recognises the right of journalists and the public to film wherever they wish when a breach of a person's rights is taking place.

  • Stop Paypal Limiting Accounts Without Evidence of Wrongdoing.
It undermines a business and can push it to the edge especially a small online business that relies on accessing it's own money from its Paypal account. Paypal act like Judge, Jury and executioner with virtually nobody to turn to in the UK if things go wrong. Paypal are regulated by Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier, based in Luxembourg, the FCA Financial conduct Authority here in the UK apparently would look at a complaint case but have no real power to intervene. Paypal are not regulated in the UK in the same way a bank is and so get away with withholding your funds as it sees fit for up to 180 days, this limitation or freezing of your account can happen without notice or warning. This can happen to anyone, one such case was when an Ebayer recently had an increase in sales revenue because a product became a hot item. This Ebayer came to the attention of Paypal and their account was limited with £3000 sat in their account and unable to withdraw any of the money or purchase anything, the effect of Paypals limitation also caused problems with Ebay and meant the seller was unable to list any new items either. In essence this small time online business was earning a steady part time income to zero within a few days, This does not just affect Ebay online business sellers it can also affect individuals who can also find themselves with a limited account and a very frustrating wait to access their money. Paypals resolution process is drawn out without it appears any kind of definitive timescale it feels it needs to stick to. They are a multi-billion pound company who bully and trample over people, currently they know they can get away with what ever they want. Please join this petition and make Paypal reconsider their policies and prevent them from freezing and limiting Paypal accounts without evidence of wrong doing. Innocent until proven guilty should be restored as it should be, put Paypal in its place. There is no room in the UK for a company that is able to limit or freeze a monetary account without evidence of wrong doing and a court order.

  • Ban this wretched man - William Newman
Freedom of the press is essential for any functional democracy. The hacking scandal has exposed the UK's press urgent need for reform and effective regulation. The majority of the press want to self-regulate with a new body IPSO but the recruitment of William Newwman to the new IPSO board shows it will be business as usual for the press. Most people understand ,the risk of government involvement in press regulation as recommended by Lord Justice Leveson, but this represents continued contempt by the press for the 96 who died at Hillsborough. It seems you will never learn...

  • MPs should wear the company logos of all the companies sponsoring them
This is important because the voters of this country who only have the influence of a single vote at election time deserve to know who the influence peddlers are and who is paying them.

  • Show your disgust of the BBC!
The only way the BBC will learn that we are disgusted with the overt bias they have given UKIP over the past year is to vote with our feet; well, remote controls. If viewing figures drop they may then get the hint. (This is also the best way to have a more pleasurable evening!)

  • Force Mobile Phone Copmpanies to allow a Usage Cap
I am a parent that is continually under pressure to supply my children with state of the art technology in the form of these all singing all dancing smart phones. To be able to truly control my children's spending the only way I can do this is to overspend initially on a phone and go Pay As You Go. Then there is the problem of teenagers hassling for more credit. Pay as You go is expensive. The cost of these phones are extortionate and the tariffs are designed to maximise the income for the company and to encourage people to take out contracts. The contract price plans are attractive. You can get a decent phone and a decent price plan for a reasonable monthly outlay. It is an easy option. My daughters were signed up and on the whole it is fantastic. They choose the phone, they know they can't upgrade it for 2 years and they know how much they can use it. In theory. As parents it is perfect. We sign them up. We are responsible for the bill. That is the issue. We naively assume our children are responsible adults and will treat this service with respect. As parents we are giving our children, young children, this responsibility maybe a little too early. There are children out there running up huge bills for their parents through lack of understanding of the consequences. These children don't realise it can lead to family debt and they assume it only effect them. There is also the point where the whole account can be suspended for non payment. The whole family, where a job which relies on the phone, could be at risk. My daughter ran up a bill of £130. On contacting the provider we were offered no help. The phone company said what if in the case of emergency. With unlimited texts and 999 I don't see this as being a valid reason. They told me they don't offer a capping service and we were responsible for the amount. After all she used it. I believe this is purely profiteering on the part of the phone company. I believe it should be a shared responsibility between the phone company and the contract holder. I believe that if they offered a cap option then this would prevent children (and some adults too) from putting their families through financial hardship. It will teach our children limits. I, after all, do not want to be presented with another extortionate bill that I can't afford.

  • Make Zero-Hour Contracts Illegal in all Sectors of Work
It's important as greater numbers of people are being offered these contracts and a higher percentage of these people are young. If we don't provide decent working contracts for young people they have no hope for the future, and this is detrimental to a feel-good factor in an economic recovery. It is also treating people as commodities.
