• Use money earmarked for refurbishing the Palace of Westminster for social housing.
This is the twenty first century and Britain is one of the richest yet most unequal places on earth. The Palace of Westminster is no longer fit for purpose and homelessness among English households has risen by over 50% since 2010, with 57,750 formally recognised cases in the financial year 2015-16. In London alone, households becoming homeless increased to 17,530 (9%) in the last year. According to homelessness charity Shelter, more than a million households living in private rented accommodation are at risk of becoming homeless by 2020 because of rising rents, benefit freezes and a lack of social housing. The Grenfell Tower disaster, the highly questionable mass sale to private property developers of land and buildings previously used for social housing, along with the continuing unacceptable rise in homelessness and ever increasing inequality of wealth and opportunity all point to the urgent need for radical solutions to the housing crisis, especially in London. Even multi millionaire Conservatives such as Jacob Rees Mogg recognise housing as the single most important issue facing the people of Britain in 2017. The Government have recently been considering the refurbishment of the Palace of Westminster at a reported cost of an eye watering £5billion of taxpayers' money. Instead of using this enormous amount of money patching up an antiquated building that is no longer fit for purpose, the Government should instead use the vast majority of this money to provide decent, affordable social housing for the most vulnerable and marginalised, and simultaneously move the UK Parliament to a northern city in order to help construct a more equal society: London and the south-east are wealthy but most regions are poorer than the European Union average. Growing inequality and the absence of decent affordable housing is unacceptable in what the Government claims is the fifth largest economy in the world.

  • Campaign to reverse public transport cuts
This is important as individuals and especially non drivers in the area have very little means of transportation, thus having a major impact on the freedom of choice and human rights of the general public. This has a major effect on the peoples mental health due to having little or no options and being stranded in one location where especially on weekends there are very few ways of catching connecting trains, as this is an area that does not serve the majority of railway stations in the sourrounding counties.

  • MPs Should Not Receive Any Pay Rise!
After all the terrible atrocities that have happened recently, our emergency services (including hospital staff) should be receiving MEDALS as well as pay rises! The PM THERESA MAY praised the Police for acting so quickly, yet she then freezes their pay and cuts the numbers of police. MPs receive salaries that would pay for three nurses/police officers and more with their various expense claims and this just isn't the way things should be.

  • Instigate a Royal Commission into the future direction of the NHS
Ever since it's foundation in 1948, the National Health Service has been a mainstay of our country. However, in an ever changing world, the pressures now facing the NHS are very great. We have had a top down review in recent years. People are growing older and living longer. There have also been significant advances in medicine since 1948. However, the NHS has also seen major political parties arguing about who can manage it best. It is now time for all of that to stop. It is time for a Royal Commission to look into the future of our NHS. All major political parties, trade unions, NHS staff, service providers and expert witnesses and patients should be called to look at ways of improving and enhancing our NHS for the future. It should be led by an expert in the field of medicine. It is time for the politics to stop and all those with an interest to come together to work hard for the future of our NHS. A long term solution agreed by all stakeholders in our NHS is needed to make it work for everyone.

  • Awards For LFB at Grenfell Tower
The LFB faced an unimaginable tragedy on arrival on that night, as residents were running out to safety, the brave firefighters were running in and saved countless residents. It is only right and proper that these firefighters should be recognised for going above and beyond the call of duty

  • Free travel on tfl for emergency services staff
With ever increasing costs of accommodation in London many workers have to move out to the suburbs and beyond. However those who run toward danger whilst telling others to run away, as part of what they themselves call their 'normal job' deserve special consideration. This is already given to police officers. I believe this should be extended to LFB & LAS also.

  • Return all victims of Grenfell Tower Communities back into the RBKC, Now and not in years to come.
After an incident of this magnitude survivors and victims must to be close to the people they know and the community they belong to. Being close is the only way the survivors can benefit from the immediate support individuals in the community, multi faith groups, independent business, and charities, have put together in support of all. LEGAL SUPPORT Legal support is of paramount importance. Information is almost fresh on the hour. Survivors must be informed of their legal rights the dos and the dont's that may not benefit or may affect their choices later. By moving the survivors and victims far from their community they will be made more vulverable and are more likely to take settlements they will later regret. TRAUMA MENTAL HEALTH Signs of trauma are already evident throughout the community. Trauma is a serious situation and nothing more healing than be closer to those you know and can care for all with love and empathy. HATE SPEACH AND HUMAN RIGHTS Theresa May must 1- make all forms of social and ethic cleansing illegal and a form of human rights abuse. 2- make illegal for all the advocates of real estate to refer to the dwellers of council towers and social housing as a treat and as undisarables. Such must be recognised as hate speach and must be made illegal. 3- End the long standing pressure imposed by local Estate Agent on the local Council to cleanse Ladbroke Grove ( and other parts of the country) of people living in social housing. This must be recognised as a form of hatred and must be made illegal. CLASS AND RACIAL DISCRIMINATION, RACIAL AND CLASS PROFILING IN PERIOD OF CRISES such as Grenfell Tower Fire must be recognised as a human right abuse and crime against humanity. Lived together Killed together Surviving together Ladbroke Grove belongs to all...the poor, the rich, the lazy and the hard working classes. https://youtu.be/EigZWlDG15o

  • Replacing street trees
Brockley is in the middle of a radical tree-trimming and removal programme. This came without any warning to residents. The trees around the Aspinall Road area of Brockley are famous for their spring blossom and their fruits feed hundreds of birds in the area. They are a beautiful and particular feature of the area. Children have played in them and elderly people sit out in spring to enjoy the blossom. They bring protection to properties from hot sun in the summer and a sense of partial privacy in built-up areas. Where they are replaced, the species are not consistent. They are vital in this over-polluted city. • Abolish MPs' Food subsidies
Austerity; we're told it is essential. We're told we have to suffer it to save the country. We're told we're all in it together. Well, it's time the MPs showed that they believe this or are forced to pitch in even a little. At a time when food costs for ordinary citizens are soaring, when in-work citizens are relying on benefits and even food banks to feed their families, when ordinary folk are suffering pay freezes and even cuts tax-payer funded subsidies for MPs' food is an obscenity. MPs already receive a generous stipend for their efforts. They receive an excellent (many believe even more unfair and oft-abused) expenses package. Many are independently wealthy. Most hold several other highly-paid posts for which they are, frankly, only qualified by virtue of their status as an MP. In addition, they receive annual pay-rises that amount to more than many citizens earn in a year. To continue to allow them to receive hugely discounted food and drink on top of this is an obscenity which must come to an immediate end. There is not one economical or moral justification for this subsidy and it must end.
