No More Diesel Ice-Cream Vans Poisoning Our ChildrenBecause of their height, a small child, when waiting in line for their summer treat, will often be subjected to several minutes of poisonous gas from a diesel or petrol engine. Ice-cream vans tend to station themselves in parks and near playgrounds, meaning the health and safety of all children in the vicinity is compromised. We wouldn't allow a lorry to park next to a group of children and keep their engine running for hours on end, so why do we accept it from an ice-cream van? Several boroughs already insist on using electric vehicles to sell ice-cream in parks. We are calling for a blanket ban of diesel powered ice-cream vans in all parks and outside our homes. This is better for the whole community, including those selling those delicious 99s.38 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Simon Wallfisch

Refuse the government 1% rise for NHS care and nursing staffWe are seeing more people who are losing heart and morale about working in a job that most feel should be rewarding. People go into the health industry to make a change, but they are being exploited to the very limit. We are struggling for staff in all areas and less are wanting to train due to being able to earn more in a supermarket than a hospital.7 of 100 SignaturesCreated by A Nurse Who cares

Zebra Crossing King Street WintertonThere is no crossing facilities at all other than several speed bump crossing zones on earlsgate, with several in place on the same road. The lower end of the village has no crossing provision at all. All children utilise the church on a daily basis, plus there are vulnerable adults in the village that would gain some independence if they could cross the road safely to get to the shops.6 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Pen Billam

Keep Lynton's Emergency Response TeamWe are a remote rural area with a large number of elderly and retired residents. As well as the locals, we have many tourists visit us, a lot of them are walkers due to the mountainous terrain around Lynton. Add to that the fact that we have a harsh rocky coastline and the fact that the roads in this area are far narrower than those in cities or other urban areas, and it's fair to say the Emergency Response Team (ERT) is kept busy here. Moving the ERT to Ilfracombe and/or Barnstaple would increase the response time of paramedics dramatically and it would increase the workload of already heavily burdened first responders. As a Scout Group, we feel passionately about this and we are against the decision to move our ERT %100. One of our Scouts was treated by our ERT and it took nearly 10 minutes for them to get to him - if they had to come from Barnstaple or Ilfracombe, it would have taken 3 or 4 times longer! The proposed relocation of the Emergency Response Team would leave all residents and visitors to the Lyn Valley area even more vulnerable than they already are and lives will be put at risk. Please sign this petition to ask Cllr Andrea Davis to stop the decision made by South West Ambulance Service Foundation Trust (SWASFT) to relocate the Emergency Response Team and keep the Team here in Lynton.5 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Daniel Whitfield

Remove Eagle Couriers NHS ContractThis is important because, Eagle Couriers are exploitative towards the drivers who do the work, and in both the manner in which they treat them and pay them. Drivers are expected to work a 10hr day and also be on call at all other times, which is unsafe as drivers can be on the road for a sustained amount of time. For example, a driver may have worked a long shift during the day, then be called out after his/her shift to make another long journey which could be anywhere Britain delivering emergency blood supplies/drugs/human tissue. All though drivers are "self-employed" they are unable to refuse the work as the company will then withold future work from them, as a means of punishment. Drivers pay for there own fuel and van. When considering the length of hours involved and costs accrued to the driver, they are regularly working for far less than the minimum wage, often £2-3ph. We believe this is unacceptable behaviour for a company who's contracted for vital work within our NHS. Please sign this petition to help bring this to the attention of Shona Robison MSP. Thanks for taking the time to read this and thanks for your support. Stuart Morgan.5 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Stuart Morgan

£20 should not be made from palm oilThe use of palm oil in products is causing serious environmental harm across the planet. It is linked to major deforestation in many countries, causing widespread loss of habitats, including the rainforest habitat. In fact, 27 million hectares of the earth's surface has been used for the cultivation of palm oil. It is now widely used in a range of products, and is currently in up to half of products sold in supermarkets. Flying over countries where palm oil production is concentrated is shocking. Seeing huge scars across landscapes which should be covered in rainforest is unacceptable when there are suitable alternatives. Allowing palm oil to be the substitute for tallow is not acceptable. This must be stopped. This is not the right substitute. It is unnecessary to add another demand and reason to increase palm oil production.130 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Rebecca Buckland

Stop Greenbelt Loophole Allowing Development in Bardsey LeedsBramham estate in Leeds wants to sell off Red Flagged Green Belt by exploiting a section of the national planning guidelines referred to as 'very special circumstances'. This allows development on Greenbelt if the profits can be used to fund repairs to listed buildings, improve land elsewhere etc. Which would be fine if this were to benefit the surrounding populace. In this case it does not, as visiting Bramham is severely restricted. Bramham has proposed an open day a year to allow visitors should the plans be approved. So Nick Lane Fox would be using the money for home improvements only he would benefit from. We do not believe Nick Lane Fox and the Bramham estate should be allowed to get away with exploiting this loophole. Which will only cause misery to residents in surrounding villages of Scarcroft, East Keswick, Bardsey and Collingham. Collingham who have recently lost land to another development of many houses. We believe this is a test case of sorts and that should it be approved will open the floodgates to similar developments all over the country. Further to Note: The proposed site for build is located on flood plains that have been seen to flood very regularly and already affect existing properties in recent years many times. Amenities within the area are already stretched to breaking point with schools been full and waiting times at the surgery getting longer. The A58 is stretched to capacity at busy times of the day and the further pressure of 140 house with at least two cars each will only add to the mayhem in mornings and evenings.72 of 100 SignaturesCreated by jason cook

Save Youth Services at the Stowe Centre in WestminsterBecause of Westminster Council cuts the Stowe Youth Club, 258 Harrow Road, London W2 5ES is being forced to close almost all its services for local young people and lay off its dedicated and experienced staff. The Stowe Centre is a vital facility in Westbourne Ward and neighbouring areas. It is a place where historically young people from the Warwick, Brindley and Amberley Estates and beyond have come for many years to get a break from tough home lives, to take part in activities or just simply have some space. It was once the home to the one of London’s most famous youth football training grounds, known for producing stars like 1980’s Liverpool legend John Barnes. It was also the home of The Cut magazine, written and produced by local young people and created the hit YouTube series Chicken Shop Date as well as a host of other exciting projects. So as from 1st April the Stowe Centre will only be able to provide a replacement one night a week session for 11-19 year olds. This will be nothing near to what use to be provided and is a massive blow to the community and life choices of the young people in the area.27 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Margaret Lynch

All police to be armedBecause in todays society we live under constant threat, as such we should step up so that we can adequately deal with any situation which may arise. It is a basic human right to have an ability for self preservation, and as such we rely upon our police service to protect us to that end. If the police cannot protect themselves then they cannot protect the people and then everyone is under threat from attack. This measure would alleviate the issue and would also bring us in line with the rest of the world.19 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Anthony Giles
