Recent background: 1. In August ’16 Government gave a policy statement in relation to the Sugary Drinks Industry Levy that Key component of Childhood Obesity Strategy is to promote diet drinks. It was no.1 in a list of ‘12 Things You Should Know’, published on the government’s news website. The ‘reformulation’ of products, which currently amounts to replacing sugar with artificial sweeteners, was to be extended to other products deemed too high in sugar, regular yoghurts are among the cited foods. Questions challenging the policy were blocked at the Health Matters Live event in November ’16. Citations of studies and reviews that concluded not enough was known about the safety of sweeteners, were removed from a Wikipedia site on Sugar Taxes. The effect of the strategy has been an escalation in the use of sweeteners by manufacturers, and it is not immediately clear, when choosing items from the shelves in supermarkets, that sweeteners are being used where once they were not. Products may not be described as ‘diet’ or ‘with sweeteners’, other than in smaller print on the ingredients label. (Neotame and advantame may legitimately be used without any mention on the ingredients label.) 2. In January ’17 a Government Health Report announced that for success there needed to be zero price promotions on ‘unhealthy’ products. To use the same example, regular yoghurts are classed as ‘unhealthy’, artificially sweetened ones as the ‘healthy’ option. The effect of this move is to limit the affordable choices for poorer families wanting to give their children a healthy balanced diet with less emphasis on sweet things, but with no artificial sweeteners. Many people are close to there step parents and would like to make them there legal parent's but are over age of 18 and this does not happen in UK , I believe that anyone should make a decision when they are older to make that choice in life. Some people call there step parents mum/dad but they don't feel like they are your parent . I stand today facing this I have been serving for many years for my step father to adopt me but I am over age of 18 and do not have funds to live and pay for this to happen abroad. I believe we should make our own desisions in life and hope many others do too

It is unfair that travel companies are able to penalise parent of school age children by hiking the prices during the school holiday period. It is unacceptable to take children out of school and now we are threatened with court action. Our government need to be tightly governing these companies and stop letting them raise the prices so high, therefore affording more parents a chance to take their families away during peak times.

It is important for our children to learn to share and play with other children without gangs terrorising them. Also been suspicious adults taking photos of children but by the time police arrive 8hrs later are gone our children deserve to be safe.

The internet is so slow and drops out non-stop

It is a safe place for our kids to meet, make new friends, learn new things and be safe. Without it what will the kids do? My kids love it they cook, play games, help raise funds and much more thanks to Joe and his team.

Money Held and not used for the purpose it was Donated is Theft

thousands of people are homeless everyday if the government took control of the landlords and set a basic rent for 1,2 and 3 bedroom properties no matter of the postcode or location just based on the number of rooms in the property something has to be done there are to many people homeless and struggling to pay their rents!!!!!!

Because young children don't understand why they have so long off from school and because not all parents are able to spend huge amounts of money on days out, most parents work and it costs a fortune for childcare during the 6 weeks.

Because we need parental right to allow grandparents to be able to get it in the same way as same sex parents or step parents. Neither of these are blood relatives. There are over 200.000 grandparents bringing up one or more grandchildren in the UK. We have to go to court to seek permission for a residence order or special guardianship order to also gain parental rights. It can take months and months instead of a trip to local court with downloaded form witnessed by a notary. It all needs to be brought into 2017. The Children's Act is to protect children and this isn't. I have my grandson due to his mothers death and mother and fathers substance abuse. I have no legal rights for my grandson. This all needs to change.

Each morning many of us tune in to listen or watch the headlines of the day. BBC Breakfast news is a favourite with thousands of people tuning in each day. This is then followed by the weather report and a large section on sport. This is something I would like to see change. I would like to see better coverage of Arts & Cultural events happening across the UK, promoting Health and well being, community engagement and education. The Edinburgh Fringe is arguably the greatest Cultural event in the world and draws people from across the globe to see a wide range of performances and yet has not been mentioned during the peak times on national television. However, Wimbledon for example, was a daily feature throughout July, guest speakers on BBC Breakfast, Tennis activities and games throughout the show made constant reference to this event. Yet no mention is made to an event that has a much greater audience. ( 473,372 attended Wimbledon 2016, 2,475,143 tickets were sold for Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2016). If you would like the BBC to increase its coverage of the Edinburgh Fringe, informing us of the wide range of acts; street performances, comedy, music, dance, theatre, magic - the impact the festival has so much more then please sign this petition and let's change how the arts is reported in the media!
