Wage increase for NHS workersThis is important because it is becoming increasingly difficult to recruit people into the NHS. Patients suffer due to staff shortages. Money is wasted on agency staff. Give Nurses and Doctors and carers what they deserve. We have not had a decent pay rise for years. Do you call 1% fair? Junior nurses and carers are living on the bread line. We need change now. Do not waste tax payers money on Buckingham Palace. Pay your front line services first.195 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Julie Nevin

STOP THE STP'S IN BIRMINGHAM & SOLIHULL!We have been campaigning for over three years now to save our local Hospital services, an issue we care about passionately. This is our third petition with 38 Degrees. The STP's for our area, Birmingham & Solihull , were published only recently and without any public consultation. They are ill thought out and dangerous. Lives will be put at risk. The plans will affect EVERYONE; young/ elderly/ expectant Mothers/ Carers/ those with disabilities/ Mental Health problems and also local Pharmacies. Also, the STP document doesn't seem to mention or explain that already more patients are being made to travel across our huge city to other Hospitals at a distance for even ROUTINE treatment and surgery (nor any of the practical, mental, emotional, financial implications of that); or whether that will continue with the inevitable consequences for patients and staff at local Hospitals. The impression being given, is that if these plans were in place, they would stimulate more cohesion between the NHS & Social/ Community Care, with more patients being treated at home/ in the community instead of their local Hospital. However, in reality, the Council haven't got the funding and don't know where they will get it from to actually implement such a scheme! They have of course at this time, been starved of funding, but past mismanagement of funds (ie wastage of public money) has been happening for years, whoever has been in power in that time to cause it. Despite that, they still want to force these plans onto the public, with all of their very serious implications, including paving the way for PRIVATISATION of essential local services. And what happens if people won't be able to pay for those services? A return to the `Hard Times'' of the Victorian era. Although some of those responsible for these plans are claiming they are `the only game in town', we do NOT believe that is true, as other Councils in England have publicly and strongly opposed their STP's, refusing to sign them off, thus showing they really care about their constituents. We would therefore like to ask the Birmingham & Solihull Health Scrutiny Committee, to show that they also care about their constituents/ patients and do the same, by telling Birmingham City Council (who are leading these plans, working with NHS England) , that they will NOT BE APPROVING the STP's. The committee is made up of Councillors from ALL Main Parties & from a variety of local areas and so the responsibility falls on all of them; that is, it is not just on one Main Party.48 of 100 SignaturesCreated by good hope hospital save good hope's local services

NHS Free and OpenThe NHS was created on the basis of free at the point of access. Doctors, nurses and other health-care workers are not immigration officials deciding who the should or should not treat. This is against the principles of the NHS and the idea that sick people would be denied treatment just because they failed to have the correct paperwork when seeking help is shocking. This is just another attack on peoples rights by the current government and another burden they will place on our NHS. Can you imagine being turned away from a doctors surgery or a hospital just because they can not tick a box on a form confirming your identity. This will affect a wide range of people including both British citizens and migrants as well as asylum seekers. Are receptionist in wards and surgeries going to be asked to refuse people access to medical services? Are we going to have Immigration Officers in every medical facility to check peoples' documents? What will the government do if someone is refused access and later dies as a result? The government has to stop this and come up with a better idea. Placing the burden of deciding who to treat or not is not something our NHS should be doing. They have enough with treating people who are seriously sick and ill.7 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Steven Redpath

Wirral Phlebotomy (Blood Test) ServiceCentralising the service into 4 Hubs (likely to be Arrowe Park Hospital, Clatterbridge Hospital, Victoria Central Hospital and St Catherines Hospital) as a drop in service will have the following consequences: • Appointment times are likely to be longer especially at busy times. As a drop in service you will not know how long the appointment will take. • Increase travel time. • Exasperate the already difficult parking situation at Arrowe Park Hospital. • Increase costs (public transport or parking charges). The increased travel time and waiting time will have a negative impact on people taking time out from work and children taking time out of school for blood tests.370 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Jonathan Shone

Free Prescriptions in EnglandThis would make the system fair. English people pay the same taxes etc. Many people pay large amounts for their medications out of their limited incomes and many people only get part of their prescription due to lack of money. This is detrimental to their health.32 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Alison Hardy

Thyroid Protection in the Nuclear IndustryThe thyroid is very susceptible to radiation. Thyroid cancer is a serious disease. At present - in the UK - there is no requirement for protection. In films made in the USA, actors playing staff involved in radioactive work can be seen wearing a protective collar. No such equipment is used in the UK.8 of 100 SignaturesCreated by NIgel Johnstone

Stop amputating needlessly8500 people per Year in the UK have their Feet/Toes/Fingers amputated because Diabetes.org/NHS refuse to engage in Clinical trials and use the latest low cost Edison Award winning treatment available. This product is already FDA approved and freely available in the U.S. It is a fundamental human right to have the right to have access to this low cost treatment and yet nobody in the NHS will engage . This can also conservatively save the NHS at least £30 million to £35 million per year .4 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Patrick Hughes

Save 4 Plymouth GP PracticesThese four practices set to be closed are all in the worst off areas of the city. These changes will certainly widen the already huge health inequalities in the city. NHS England say that small practices are "unsustainable" and that there is nothing that can be done to keep them open. This is wrong and based on a "market" view of healthcare. Instead NHSE must work with communities and providers to find innovative ways to keep GP surgeries viable in the areas of greatest need. The decision has been made without the without proper consultation, important decisions such as this should take patients and communities voices into account.975 of 1,000 SignaturesCreated by Richard Ayres

Save Foxley Lane Women's Service from being closed downFoxley Lane Women's Service is an extremely valuable service that acts as an alternative to an acute clinical admission that Gresham 1 provides. Foxley Lane provides weekly therapeutic timetable of activities that supports recovery from mental health crisis. This unparalleled service provides support, assessment, treatment and care for women in crisis from staff that are dedicated and passionate about the care they give. With the closure of this service; women in crisis the alternatives will be admission to an acute ward on Gresham 1 at the Bethlem Royal Hospital. Gresham 1 can be noisy, threatening and scary with many patients struggling with an acute episode of psychosis. For women trying to recovery from a mental health crisis, Gresham 1 can cause further distress and for many women being discharged from Gresham they can and do leave more damaged than when they were admitted. A another alternative being offered is home treatment which for many wouldn’t be an option as it can be home life that caused the relapse into crisis in the first place Unfortunately, due primarily to lack of funding and changes to mental health services in Croydon, the Croydon CCG have made the decision to decommission Foxley Lane. This follows Croydon Health recently going into special measures due to poor finances. Many of the service users that have had been a patient at Foxley recognise that the treatment and care provided is the best environment for women in crisis to recover. Many have stated that Foxley Lane has saved their lives. Save North street and Vale street surgeryIf the surgeries close the patients would be dispersed to further away location such as Long Lee and as far as Cottengley 5 to 6 miles away. The transport for unwell elderly patients would be extremely difficult and the waiting list for appointments would be extremely long to these surgeries due to the fact that they would be taking on thousands of patients from north street surgery and vale street surgery. The health and well being for the elderly and people with transport issues is not being taken in to consideration by the NHS. People with communication and transport problems will be be most affected because north street surgery and vale street surgery have a diverse staff to deal with people of all languages and back grounds. Between 20 to 30 people from these surgeries would lose there jobs hard working people trying to help and serve there communities .496 of 500 SignaturesCreated by Usman Hussain

GM food trial going ahead in U.K.Science has not yet proven that GM food do not have a health changing impact on fauna and the environment. Neither in the USA nor in UK or Europe are consumers interested in GM modified foods. Please urge this government to stop licensing GM modified foods until science can prove, that these food will have no impact on any living beings health. Perhaps we should encourage all world citizens to stop breeding like rabbits and take birth control. Than there will be no need to destroy nature for GM foods and agriculture. Perhaps we humans could learn something from Badgers10 of 100 SignaturesCreated by CJ Hummel
