The bus service in Pillgwenlly needs to link back in with duffryn as the busses in pill stop at 6.30pm and none on Sunday and bank holidays

What’s the problem? Nationally, mental health services are in crisis. Southwark Pensioners Action Group (SPAG) supports the campaign to open a Place of Sanctuary at the Maudsley Hospital, Denmark Hill site.  Kings A&E feels like an awful place to be if you are having a mental health crisis because in a busy, hectic sometimes aggressive reception area alongside those with broken limbs or other physical trauma.  It’s feels even worse if you are a child, a young person, a pregnant woman or a mum with a baby  60% of young people turning up in crisis are not known to mental health services for children and young people  The significant increase in knife crime since January 2018 means Kings A&E is under huge pressure What do we want?  A 24 hour walk-in Place of Sanctuary at the Maudsley Hospital Denmark Hill site for those in mental health crisis.  Especially for Children and Young People, and Pregnant Women, Mothers with Babies in mental health crisis  Mental health money must reach the frontline  No more cuts to Children and Young Peoples’ mental health services in or out of hospital Why?  Kings A&E is not a Place of Sanctuary for people who need emergency mental health treatment  Excellent crisis care saves lives  Our children, pregnant mums and mothers with young babies deserve far better emergency mental health services What time is it??  It’s TIME for the South London and Maudesley Hospital Trust to step up  It’s TIME for the Trust to provide a 24 hour walk in Place of Sanctuary at Denmark Hill  It’s TIME for the Trust to pull its weight for those in mental health crisis Who can do it?  You can by signing this petition 

Due to the new sugar tax, the government is set to make £250 million a year. The very most female sanitary products could make from VAT is £130 million a year, and that's if every woman in the UK needed them, which clearly isn't possible, but it shows the maximum amount they could possibly make. It's clear sugar tax will make up this difference and making money wasn't even its primary reason for it being implemented. It's obvious female sanitary products are not a luxury item, and women all over the globe need them. Being charged VAT on them is simply ludicrous. There is simply no excuse now for VAT being on female sanitary products anymore even at a reduced rate. Periods aren't a choice, and female sanitary products are necessary to deal with it. Women shouldn't be charged on a product they NEED - not WANT, NEED. It doesn't make sense, its obvious it doesn't make sense and now it doesn't make sense financially either.

Some research suggests that only 17 - 26% of badgers carry bovine tuberculosis (bTB) and that badger to cattle transmission of bTB accounts for only 5.7% of badger related bTB incidence in cattle, while cattle to cattle transmission accounts for the remaining 94.3%. There is mounting evidence that the current UK badger cull is not effective in reducing bTB in cattle and may even increase the risk of badger to cattle bTB transmission. Other studies suggest that it may take 3-4 years for effects of badger culling on bTB in cattle to be observed. This makes the recently announced bTB strategy review the perfect opportunity for a review into badger culling which began with pilot culls in 2013. There is also the risk that badger culling could risk already declining hedgehog populations since studies have shown that badger culls may result in increased numbers of red foxes in some areas. The UK imports over half the food we consume. There is food poverty in many areas: Yet Councils across the nation plant pretty trees and shrubs in public amenity areas. How much better would it be if we could step outside and find food trees and shrubs growing where we could just help ourselves for free. I lived abroad for a few years and there were orange trees growing wild everywhere, you could just help yourself whenever you wanted, it was great! We can't grow oranges, but there are many crops we could grow. Why can't we pick free food for all? Surely it should be our right!

Many homeless women, particularly those who are rough sleepers refuse to stay in mixed gender hostels due to previous abuse and violence within them. We need more female-only shelters to provide a safe haven for these vulnerable members of society

The legislation is harmful to those it affects and is a non sustainable method of supporting the homeless and those who rough sleep. We need more support distributed to those who are homeless, not to convict them and make them criminals.

Helping people to manage their health problems'' .

If this was law I wouldn’t have the battle with my teenage children about wearing them.

Hywel Dda University Health Board's plans include 3 options - ALL of which will close the A&E units at Glangwili and Withybush hospitals. The Glangwili unit was built relatively recently and Withybush has also been upgraded. The plan calls for building a new major hospital in the countryside "somewhere between Narberth and St Clears". All 3 options list as a disadvantage that patients will have to travel further to access planned and emergency care in an area already poorly served by public transport and with a limited number of ambulance stations and ambulances to cover a large rural area; while it's true we have the excellent Wales Air Ambulance, that can't be everywhere. Making patients travel further to reach A&E could cost lives. A secondary issue arises from the likely difficulty patients and visitors will face in travelling to the proposed new hospital, especially if they don't have access to a car. The current policy of making payments to the bank account of one designated person in a household couple can create a situation of financial hardship in couples where domestic abuse is an issue. The current policy of being able to make an ‘application for special circumstances’ in which to request separate payments is likely to cause further friction in couples where domestic abuse is taking place, and the application is therefore unlikely to be made. We request a reverse of this policy so that it reverts to being the norm for individual payments to made with a ‘special circumstance request’ process available for couples who choose to designate a single payee.
