Stop Councils from taking people's disability benefits to pay for their careSince the introduction of the Care Act, many local authorities are reassessing people's ability to pay for their own care and/or support. My daughter relies on her support worker to help her to live independently. For the last 6 years she has received funding from the Local Authority to pay a support worker to help her cook meals, shop, keep her flat clean, deal with correspondence, go to medical appointments and get out and about. Without any warning or discussion, it stopped on the same day she was visited to 'check' she was receiving the right amount of benefits. A subsequent letter informed her that after the general living allowance was deducted from her benefits, there was enough income left to pay for her own care. The Government 'say' that she needs £x amount to live on then our Local Authority say she can live on less than half the benefit amount. It is very wrong and very soon you will be talking to someone who is affected by these assessments (parents of disabled adults, people with aging parents and/or people who need care). Please support this campaign to force Local Authorities to ignore disability benefits when assessing people's ability to pay for their own care so they can exercise choice and control over their lives.26 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Denise Cooper

Save Shipley JobcentreClosing Shipley Jobcentre will impact on vulnerable local people and the local economy. Customers will be burdened with additional transport costs to access vital services, increasing poverty within the town. Closing the office will impact on the local economy as customers will be less likely to visit the town centre and spend money in local businesses. Supporters are also being asked to send in comments in response to the DWP consultation - which can be accessed here: https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/proposal-for-the-future-of-shipley-jobcentre593 of 600 SignaturesCreated by Laura Jowett

Pay child benefit monthly. It's difficult to plan finances around payments that move around the calendar each month. Direct Debits in particular don't cope well this this. The system is out of touch with modern family finances and needs to be changed.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Phill Johnston

U.K. fails to keep its promiseThis is an important matter because it effects the lives of so many young children. Every child deserve the right to a childhood, unfortunately many children from a war zone country like Syria are having this right snatched away from them. Many countries are opening their arms to refugees, and the U.K. should definitely participate purely for the purpose of an act of humanity. Please sign this petition and do share with your friends and families. If they were our children we sure would want the best for them. Let's make the UK the accepting tolerant country it once was. Her recent meeting with Donald Trump has influenced her with this decision, she has also failed to speak against the Muslim ban, despite her being the Prime Minkster of many Muslims. Many people have spoken against this. It just goes to show how the corrupt Donald Trump is beginning to have an impact onto the rest of the world. Not so long ago, there was a meeting held in parliament, for which they were discussing the matter of sending some aid in Syria, the members of parliament who were present that day was truly appalling, not to mention Theresa not even being bothered to show up. Being a British Muslim, and a daughter of two immigrant parents I have always been so proud of how Britian has given a hand out to people desperately seeking for help.Living in a country like this has meant I show pride in my nationality, however with the recent events, I am beginning to question this. Please don't let this country go down. Sign this petition today, and allow refugees to be welcomed in this country.4 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Aneesha Khan

Ask to Government to stick to their commitment of helping 3,000 unaccompanied child refugeesThere is an estimated 90,000 unaccompanied children and teenagers across Europe Help Refugees, one of the British charities working in France, had already launched legal action against the government's handling of Dubs. Its judicial review, which will be heard on Friday, argues that ministers failed to consult local authorities properly about how many unaccompanied children could be housed.11 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Robert Jones

Save the Corrib Pubs Community RoomsThese rooms are a well-regarded facility in the area with a great future when used by the community. Many people have attended events at the Corrib Rest and recent attempts by local residents have tried to arrange activities. Pensioners now evicted from their weekly get togethers here have now had to use an unheated hall. Community facilities like this are far more important than 9 luxury flats. The petition was delivered to the planners and now we have the Committee hearing. On Weds 28th June at 7pm we want to try and get as many people as possible to attend the hearing to support the community rooms being kept. please attend if you can at Brent Civic Centre, Engineers Way, Wembley, HA9 0FJ. support is important so please help and attend if you feel strongly about loss of community spaces1,512 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Kevin Barrett

Stop Job Centre ClosuresThe DWP is planning to close 20 more job centres to try to reduce costs. This will create more problems for jobseekers, who are likely to be short of funds. If they can afford the fare, they will most likely to depend on public transport, which seems to be becoming less reliable. Surely then they will be more likely to be sanctioned, only increasing their difficulties. This government is supposed to be helping job seekers into jobs. Closing job centres is instead going to make life harder for many.122 of 200 SignaturesCreated by John Mullen

Reduce speed limit outside Haygrove schoolCurrently the speed limit outside Haygrove School, Bridgwater is 30mph. I think it would be beneficial to change the speed limit to 20mph. This is a road that needs to be crossed by many students immediately after they leave school. Not only would this ensure students have a safe walk to and from school, it would encourage them to walk which has a positive impact on the environment. However, parents drop children off directly outside school which can become unsafe for other drivers and children.94 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Eleanor Newman
