Refuse the government 1% rise for NHS care and nursing staffWe are seeing more people who are losing heart and morale about working in a job that most feel should be rewarding. People go into the health industry to make a change, but they are being exploited to the very limit. We are struggling for staff in all areas and less are wanting to train due to being able to earn more in a supermarket than a hospital.7 of 100 SignaturesCreated by A Nurse Who cares

Create a safe free skatepark in Mynydd IsaIt will bring the community together and keep children off the streets. Also for people who don't feel confident may even give them a chance to get out and meet new people. There is not much to do in mynydd isa and I think a skatepark would bring a lot of different people together to all enjoy it as one.18 of 100 SignaturesCreated by zak keenleyside

Keep Safe Rail Crossings Open.Network Rail has a programme of closing non-vehicular Rail Level Crossings, ostensibly to improve safety, although many have no safety issues and the resultant closure or diversion of Public Rights of Way (Footpaths and Bridleways) will severely damage the public's ability to enjoy our wonderful countryside. The process is currently being pushed through in the Anglia region, with 63 crossing closures proposed for Essex alone, but eventually every part of the country will be affected. This scale of closures would have a devastating and unprecedented effect on our Public Rights of Way, destroying or degrading many established routes. Often these are historic paths and most are older than the Railways themselves. Mott Macdonald, the consultants being used by NR, are employing a legal device called a Transport and Works order and involves:- Closure of a large swathe of crossings at a time. No opportunity for the case for each crossing to be tested at a public enquiry. Only a limited programme of consultation in which many local people and the public at large have no knowledge of the plans and their implications. Only limited options being presented and no opportunity for consultees to argue for alternative approaches. Some of NR's solutions destroy the pleasure in using the path, such as diverting it long distances beside the railway, but some are dangerous in themselves where pedestrians are to be directed along roads without verges. Where statistics show a genuine safety issue then action may be necessary but in many cases this is not the case. And if NR were genuinely concerned with safety and not just the convenience of banishing the public from its estate it would be proposing bridges, tunnels, and other safety devices at points of concern, rather than their draconian and undemocratic approach.27 of 100 SignaturesCreated by E.J. Jes Staley Must GoThe integrity of the whistle blowing system of the Financial Services Industry has been jeopardised by his actions. It is simply outrageous that someone in his position can even claim he did not know any better. I work as a customer service rep and even I know the identity of a whistleblower must not be compromised. https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/business/2017/apr/10/barclays-boss-jes-staley-may-lose-bonus-over-bid-to-expose-whistleblower3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Kevin Murray

Zebra Crossing King Street WintertonThere is no crossing facilities at all other than several speed bump crossing zones on earlsgate, with several in place on the same road. The lower end of the village has no crossing provision at all. All children utilise the church on a daily basis, plus there are vulnerable adults in the village that would gain some independence if they could cross the road safely to get to the shops.6 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Pen Billam

Justice for the Maruti WorkersOn March 18, the Gurgaon sessions Court in Haryana, India, sentenced 13 Maruti-Suzuki auto workers to life imprisonment. The convicted are all members of the union movement that began organising in 2011. The conviction of these workers is a shameful example of how judicial systems around the world are playing to the tunes of corporate interests. The 13 workers convicted for ‘murder’ are all – unsurprisingly – leaders of the union. In 2011, workers at Maruti Suzuki ‘s Manesar plant formed an independent union and demanded recognition for it. Gurgaon-Manesar is an industrial belt, where employers fear that the organising of an independent trade union, even in one factory, might embolden workers in other factories to follow suit. On July 18 2012, Maruti workers gathered outside the factory gate heard that their representatives who had been invited for talks inside the factory, were being subjected to physical assaults by thugs employed by the management. Union members entered the factory in a mass action to rescue their comrades. Soon after, a fire broke out in which a human resources manager tragically lost his life. Immediately after, workers and union leaders were accused of conspiring to murder him. The prosecution witnesses in the Maruti case named 89 of the accused workers in alphabetical order. Defence lawyers established that the workers had been arrested on the basis of a list provided by the Maruti management and witness statements were then fabricated to fit the list. Labour law violations are an everyday occurrence across the entire belt. Indian labour laws recognise the right of workers to form unions, but attempts to do so are met with both intimidation and victimisation. The Indian government welcomes multinational corporations to ‘Make In India’, promising them a docile labour environment and cheap and good quality labour. The Indian judicial system is seeking to criminalise unions. But the attempted suppression and criminalisation of trade unionists has seen India’s workers uniting to fight for workers rights.34 of 100 SignaturesCreated by John Sweeney

Promotion of peace in SyriaWe all hear many times about the necessity of war to bring peace in Syria; in fact nobody is speaking about the necessity of saving thousands of families from the breakout. The will of people is now very straightforward: it's time to stop destroying the life of innocent ones. We all agree to not be involved in any decisions of war. We all want you to finally speak for real peace. We know well that, during the wars in Iraq and Libya, western powers did not bring peace but instability, actually encouraging the rise of extremisms. They also led to massive immigration's flows towards the "doors" of Europe, such as Sicily, where the G7 will take place. Now it's our will to stop any military action in Syria and to be represented by you: please start promoting peace, be our voice during the imminent G7 and any other international meeting. We know how it is to live normal lives as normal people, then we think the safety of normal people and families in Syria should be a priority. Help us to bring them the only thing they really need: the cessation of further bombardments.6 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Edvige Di Salvo

West Sussex County Council - Bring back peat free Soil Conditioner/CompostThe previous system was a 'virtuous circle' whereby West Sussex gardeners could dispose of their garden waste sure in the knowledge that it would be composted locally (in Henfield) and sold back to West Sussex gardeners as good quality soil conditioner/compost at a price that was reasonably competitive with peat based compost sold in supermarkets and garden centres. It is a sustainable resource In contrast, peat is derived from peat bog ecosystems in UK and abroad (Ireland, Baltic States and Finland) that took millennia to form and which are being destroyed so that people can 'make their gardens grow'. In addition, the peat has to be transported by road (and sea) from source to market. This transportation itself consumes fossil fuels, produces noxious and global warming-inducing gases. In particular, this transport clogs up our already congested roads and motorways and contributes to health problems as a result of breathing polluted air.Peat-based compost is not a sustainable resource.24 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Geraint Thomas
