Local communities have had to grudgingly accept the council's recent decision to close 13 Children's Centres in Bolton due to cut backs. Now they have been told that they are going to be handed to schools to manage. Local communities have even accepted this, but are asking for a designated community space within those centres, which some Headteachers are now opposing! We request that all Children’s Centres that are to be handed over to schools in Bolton must have written in their agreements, with the council in the handover process that: a) There should be an identified designated space within those Children’s Centres specifically for local constituted voluntary sector groups in the immediate area of those Centres. b) ‘The designated community space’ should be made accessible at all times to the local community groups and be managed by them. We cannot let local communities be completely robbed of yet another community asset in the heart of their communities! One school Headteacher has gone to the extreme of actively trying to divide communities and is threatening years of community cohesion in order not to share a children's centre with local communities. People like this should be disciplined. 'Sharing is caring!'

Ever increasing strain is being placed upon our road network on a daily basis. While construction work continually increases our road network capacity for traffic, there are measures that could be taken to improve the efficiency of our current capacity. By ensuring HGVs do not overtake on dual carriageways between the hours of 07:00-09:00 and 16:30-18:30 Monday to Friday inclusive, two benefits will be observed: 1.) The outside lane will be free to flow traffic at a rate akin to the speed limit - not limited to a lower speed by slower moving vehicles. This should have the effect of reducing tailbacks caused by HGVs in the outside lane. 2.) Free from the frustration of HGV "elephant races" cars are more likely to use both lanes when traffic is more freely flowing. Again this is likely to positively impact the flow rate of traffic on our existing road network. There are likely to be further benefits including environmental benefits created by smoother flowing traffic. Excessive braking caused by braking and accelerating to match speed with HGVs can increase fuel consumption and therefore the emissions created by a given amount of traffic. This is a system that can be found working in other countries and so could feasibly work here in ours. Sajid Javid has suggested holders of public office should swear an oath to British values. This will do absolutely nothing to combat ethnic segregation as has been suggested and is an insult to those who currently hold public office, the vast majority of whom already hold solid values and do those jobs because they want to help others. By shunting at Falkland yard it reduces the threat of an accident or a terrorist attack Also with having a freight yard near it makes sense for tanks to be shunted at Falkland yard owned by Db cargo as colas rail have the contact & will have to pay for use of using Db cargo yard thus reducing the risk of an accident Appears network rail & colas rail have come to an arrangement not to use Falkland yard & have concluded that it is safe to use Ayr station to shunt fuel tanks as fuel tanks would arrive quicker at preswick airport without the need to be shunted at Falkland yard despite the potential risk & potential terrorist threat RMT has raised these risks with network rail & scot rail & all have been in vain.

1.The areas in and around Rawdon have no hopper bus, unlike the neighbouring areas of Yeadon, Guiseley and Horsforth. 2. The area along Town Street, Rawdon has NO public transport provision for residents needing to access Rawdon New Road Side, their only GP surgery and pharmacy, Rawdon Community Library, Micklefield Park and other local amenities. This results in no transport for residents living in that area being denied public transport to the sole Post Office on Town Street, Rawdon St Peters Primary School and Rawdon Parish Church or the local football and cricket clubs. The bus route 97, via Horsforth, West Park and Headingley, does not provide access to Horsforth New Road Side, Kirkstall, Burley or a more direct route into Leeds City Centre. 3. Due to the length and congestion of the 97 bus route, there are often delays in the service, with passengers waiting between 30 - 60 minutes at times. 4. There are neither bus shelters nor seats for passengers between the crossroads at the top of Harrogate Road, Yeadon and Brownberrie Lane, Horsforth on the 97 route towards Leeds. 6.Many local residents complain about these problems. There is a need to consider providing an alternative route, allowing direct access to Leeds via the purpose-built Kirkstall Corridor. This could possibly be solved by re-routing the 33A route from Rawdon Crematorium, up Layton Lane, along Town Street, Larkfield Road, Batter Lane then joining the current route on Harrogate Road. This would still leave the 33 and 757 bus routes to provide transport to passengers on New Road Side, Rawdon.

Young people with disabilities need to maintain their skills and their mental health into their adult lives. They are vulnerable adults and need to be able to access safe places and maintain social contact with their friends. My daughter doesn't understand why she is no longer seeing her friends at college. She can no longer do the unpaid work she had been doing for a number of years because of a medical condition. She is has no routine and no focus in her life for 6 days a week. I am a pensioner with health problems and unable to consistently take her to places where she can meet others and anyway there is no daytime place where she can find activities to keep her meaningfully occupied. One day a week she attends a local drama group run by a charity and her whole life revolves around this one activity.

According to Barnados, there are 3.7 million children living in poverty in the UK. Clearly more needs to be done. It is important to public confidence in the government, that the government is seen to prove that it has the welfare of children at heart and is not just seen as using children's health issues just to raise tax revenues.

We need a bit of open space to help us get a bit of fresh air, and for the benefit of children yet to come

Peterborough is one of the most car friendly cities in the United Kingadom with its transport links and parkways. Air pollution is increasing more and more through new distribution companies being attracted to the city and people moving to the city due to work. We urgently need to be reduce Peterborough's air pollution in order prevent this affecting resident's health and wellbeing. Peterborough is wanting to be the UK's Environmental Capital. By addressing increasing air pollution in our city this would send a clear message to the rest of the UK that our political representatIves are concerned and proactively wanting to address this serious situation and find a solution. Air pollution causes permanent lung damage in babies and young children and exacerbates lung and heart disease in older people, and particularly affects people living in the city centre and near busy roads.
