• No fines for homeless in Northampton
It targets vulnerable people and fines them when they are clearly not in a position to pay. It criminalises people who are already at a low ebb and already face considerable challenges in getting their lives back on track. It is a waste of taxpayers' money chasing people with no money through the judicial system for money that they cannot afford.

  • Hitting the homeless where it hurts, in their empty pockets
We have all lost our way in as much that this is a Christian country so we should show kindness and help to the needy.

  • BUILD SOCIAL HOUSING NOW!!!
As a nation, we are in a housing crisis!!! We just don't have enough housing and although some building is happening, I have not heard of any of them being social! Affordable housing is happening in places but is still beyond the poorest in society and this includes families with two working parents!!!! We need social housing NOW!!!! We need to get families out of private rental to save the excessive money used by councils to make up the shortfall in rent, to stop private land lords profiting from the governments poor housing planning for decades, and get everyone the houses they need/deserve! Use the money saved in rent on social care, mental health care and help the very weakest in society to get shelter too!!!!!!

  • Give us a lift - Warwick station.
I'm sure we are not the only residents who've had to carry our kids up the station steps in a buggy, before running to the front of the station and back again just to get a ticket? As residents we are now called to join the fight to ensure disabled travellers and parents with pushchairs do not lose out on the vital upgrades.

  • Introduce opt-out policy on organ donation
The current system is opt-in. This means that many people who are happy to donate their organs are unable to do so if they die without registering. Lack of available organs is a huge issue. The European Union has highlighted the lack of organs for transplant and the increasing number of patients on waitings lists worldwide. Its figures claim that in 2014, 86,000 people were waiting for organ donations in EU states, Norway and Turkey, and 16 people were dying every day while waiting for a transplant.

  • nationalise uk railways
To stop the ridiculous charade that the railways are privately owned when the state is providing huge sunbsidies in order to pay shareholders. To give taxpayers value for money and commuters a reliable service which does not rip them off.

  • Support Ealing Council in providing more social housing
Affordable housing is London's single biggest problem. We must allow London to evolve as it has over hundreds of years and that means change. The use of land to allow people to hark back to a quaint rural idyll does not belong in the 21st Century. We must do what we can to ensure key workers are able to live in London so it remains a great place to live, and we must not be putting key workers in positions where they live in poverty or have to live miserable lives commuting because we care more about vegetables than we do about people.

  • Banks
Too many banks are closing and for the elderly and disabled it is not possible to travel miles to do transactions. Many elderly do not even have an A.T.M card.

  • WASPI Against Women's state pension inequality
Many retirement lives in the 60+ age group have been ruined by the fast introduction of these changes and many retired couples have not had the chance to plan ahead for the changes. I am a man of 70 and retired. My wife has just turned 60 but now has to work until she is 67 before we can both retire together with the state pension that we have both contributed to throughout our lives. This is not what we had planned for as the rules have been changed without sufficient notice. Many older women from this age group now have to continue working far beyond the years that they have planned and saved for.

  • Corporate capitalisation with 5p plastic bags
Retailers have withdrawn the use of paper bags, and are now only issuing plastic bags instead WHY? My interest in this issue was sparked when making a purchase at Clinton Cards, I asked for a paper bag, it was totally unnecessary to use a plastic bag. I was told Clinton Cards no longer use paper bags. A simple internet search reveals all bar the vat (£0.83) goes to the retailer, as such it is financially rewarding to sell plastic bags (the cheaper quality the better), as such the UK government handed retailers a windfall when they introduced this legislation. Some retailers give a proportion to charity but there is no legislation for them to do so.

  • Give Communities Designated Space in Children's Centres
Local communities have had to grudgingly accept the council's recent decision to close 13 Children's Centres in Bolton due to cut backs. Now they have been told that they are going to be handed to schools to manage. Local communities have even accepted this, but are asking for a designated community space within those centres, which some Headteachers are now opposing! We request that all Children’s Centres that are to be handed over to schools in Bolton must have written in their agreements, with the council in the handover process that: a) There should be an identified designated space within those Children’s Centres specifically for local constituted voluntary sector groups in the immediate area of those Centres. b) ‘The designated community space’ should be made accessible at all times to the local community groups and be managed by them. We cannot let local communities be completely robbed of yet another community asset in the heart of their communities! One school Headteacher has gone to the extreme of actively trying to divide communities and is threatening years of community cohesion in order not to share a children's centre with local communities. People like this should be disciplined. 'Sharing is caring!'

  • Reduce congestion caused by HGV traffic
Ever increasing strain is being placed upon our road network on a daily basis. While construction work continually increases our road network capacity for traffic, there are measures that could be taken to improve the efficiency of our current capacity. By ensuring HGVs do not overtake on dual carriageways between the hours of 07:00-09:00 and 16:30-18:30 Monday to Friday inclusive, two benefits will be observed: 1.) The outside lane will be free to flow traffic at a rate akin to the speed limit - not limited to a lower speed by slower moving vehicles. This should have the effect of reducing tailbacks caused by HGVs in the outside lane. 2.) Free from the frustration of HGV "elephant races" cars are more likely to use both lanes when traffic is more freely flowing. Again this is likely to positively impact the flow rate of traffic on our existing road network. There are likely to be further benefits including environmental benefits created by smoother flowing traffic. Excessive braking caused by braking and accelerating to match speed with HGVs can increase fuel consumption and therefore the emissions created by a given amount of traffic. This is a system that can be found working in other countries and so could feasibly work here in ours. If this is something you would like to see in place to reduce traffic, decrease journey times and improve the quality of life for millions of commuting motorists, please take action and vote now.
