• Change Paramedic Degree Classification
Paramedics provide a life saving service and currently as they are not classed as exceptional allied health care professionals this means funding is not available, even as a loan, if you have an existing degree. This also means that students who do get loans do not get travel expenses paid or accommodation like other healthcare professionals. The nation is crying out for paramedics and the funding is a huge barrier eliminating opportunities for highly skilled people who simply can't afford the £29000 tuition fees and then the extra travel and accommodation expenses. The finance is stopping people from training to provide life saving services.

  • Make housing developers be transparent in Winchester
Current planning law states that if a developer will make less than 20% profit on a new development, they can ignore a council's regulations about building affordable and social housing. Leaked documents from several developers have shown that the maths they use to work out their profit margins are purposefully misleading, allowing them to claim they will make less than 20% profit on a development by undervaluing the prices of the houses they will sell and over-costing the labour. To combat this Islington, Greenwich, Lambeth and Bristol councils have introduced a policy that forces developers "viability assessments" to be made public. By bringing these dodgy maths into the public domain, Councils, campaigning groups and individuals will be able to hold developers to account and force them to use more honest maths.

  • Basketball courts need to be built
I was born in halifax and now I know why Halifax is not up there with Bradford or Huddersfield (close regions). However small Huddersfield might be it does have a good park with basketball courts (greenhead park) and Bradford have an awesome park (lister park) with 6 basketball hoops - 3 pitches. I really want to play basketball and there is no place in halifax where I can play for free. This needs to be sorted out.

  • Broadcast debates should be a requirement for leaders of the main parties during general elections
The best way to put a case to the British electorate is through broadcast debate, with evidence showing huge ratings for previous broadcasts. Politicians should work to maximise the political engagement of the electorate and so should put in place a process to ensure that televised debates become a standard practice in the British general election cycle.

  • Make Election Manifestos Legally Binding
The people of the UK are becoming more and more disenfranchised with the democracy of our country. Less and less people are voting and more and more people are complaining about the Government we have. From statistics from the last two General Elections, more people have not used their vote than have voted for the winning party. Things need to change. Nobody believes politicians anymore, because manifesto promises are regularly not being kept to and are being used simply as a gateway to get into power. This petition is to call for this to be rectified, no longer should manifesto's be interesting reading that can be simply discarded by the people that wrote it once the election is over. It is time to give these documents defined and concrete meaning. A break of a manifesto promise by the Government should mean that a General Election is called immediately. The breaking of a manifesto promise is a default on an agreement and the basis upon which the Government is put into power. Additionally to this, all manifesto's should have to be fact checked under meticulous scrutiny by a independent organisation to ensure that that promises made within manifestos are based on accurate and valid information. Only with this change to law, can we have a true democracy again, with people that believe in their power to vote and believe in the vote they make.

  • Limit the age to 18 for Snapchat users
Our children are our legal responsibility until they reach the age of 18 and from my recent experience I know how much of a negative impact Snapchat can have on our children's lives! Many parents just assume it's silly filters and photos but in reality it's the perfect app for people who don't want to be monitored or for anyone to be able to see any trace of their conversation the disappearance of all communication is a huge red flag as we are unable to monitor what information our children are sharing with each other, not to mention the streaks which see our children obsessed with sending a snap every 24 hours to 100 odd of their friends and the whole world comes to an end if they loose the streak! How can we know what our children are getting up to if the evidence is deleted almost immediately i for one know how hard it is to get the truth out of a teenager who doesn't want her or her friends to get in to any trouble, parents need to educate themselves on what this app is actually doing to our children and sign this petition. Take a stand against cyber bullying and take responsibility of our children.

  • PREVENT PROPOSED MOVE OF BUS STOP OUTSIDE ERIN COURT
There are already a number of issues with the entrance to erin court that have been reported to genesis ha. General public are using this area to urinate as well as using it as a convenient rubbish tip. Erin court residents feel that by relocating the bus stop directly in front of our entrance, it will be used for more of these undesirable activities. Furthermore, we are extemely concerned about our safety and security if plans to move this bus stop go ahead. It will be impossible to determine (especially late at night) who will be legitimately waiting for a bus and who might use this as an opportunity to loiter and unlawfully gain access into erin court, thus creating a risk of burglary or assault to the residents of erin court

  • General election TV debates
It is the media's role to hold politicians to account without bias. Open debates are the best way to achieve this. (image: By Diliff - Own work, CC BY-SA 2.5, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=1634181)
