• Hands Free Dorset
I believe that restraining techniques are being overused by teachers and staff in schools and academies that claim to be places of learning for children and teenagers with BESD (Behavioural, emotional and social difficulties) too many schools are using restraining practices as a lazy way of getting what they want, leaving the children they restrain mentally and sometimes physically scarred and completely turned off to education with no recourse for the child or parents to take. This campaign is for schools and academies that are using restraint techniques to have to report by law to an independent body within the Local Education Authority, so each case is investigated and reoffending schools, academies, Teachers and/or individual Staff members are stopped from using restraint techniques when unjustifiable and prosecuted for assault of a child in their care. This campaign is to gather signatures of support so that the MP’s in Dorset, Bournemouth and Poole recognise the issue raised by this campaign and take action in Dorset for all Schools and Academies to become Hands-Free places of learning.

  • Implement an Ethical Foreign Policy
UK's foreign policy is the root cause of injustice that in return has contributed to nurturing extremism, terrorism, wars and massive human casualties. It is the reason why there's a migration crisis that is further dividing people rather than growing harmony. The UK discriminates Nations and Humans based on its national interests. For example, the UK doesn't see Saudi Arabia as a Regime, even though it sees Syria and Russia or any other nation that doesn't full fill its national interests as Regimes.

  • End HMRC's Freedom of Information loophole
Almost all public bodies are required to release information about companies under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, but there is a special exception ('loophole') that means HMRC does not have to do so. The loophole is contained in Sections 18 & 23 of the Commissioners for Revenue and Customs Act 2005. This exception means that HMRC does not have to (and cannot) release information about corporate tax payers even when it can be shown that the public interest is harmed by non-disclosure. In fact, HMRC would not have to release information it holds even in cases where corporations have acted illegally or knowingly misled the British public about the tax they pay. Whilst we accept that private individuals have a right to privacy, we fail to see why this right extends to the tax affairs of multinationals and other large corporates.

  • Corporations, high profile businesses and celebrities pay your tax please.
13 million are on the poverty line in the UK. Globally billions. Dealing with corporate tax dodging is imperative to ensure there is money available to look after our poor and help them flourish. Big tax dodgers include: Apple, HSBC, ebay, Topshop/Topman ,Boots, Starbucks, cadbury,Vodafone, Amazon, Tesco's and Google whos tax dogging antics are in the media, once again being looked into by the European commission. Whilst such companies avoid paying millions and in some cases billions in taxes the poor are getting poorer, our public services are being cut, we’re being asked to tighten our belts ,whilst others are laughing to the bank. If low paid labourer Joe Bloggs, did not pay his taxes and missed payments to the council or HM Revenue & Customs there would be threats ,demands and interest on top. If he still did not pay there would be chance of repossession, court and further fees. Its time for these big companies to be dealt with.

  • Stop Lincolnshire County Council Cuts!
The effect of these cuts will be particularly severe in Lincolnshire (rural bus services and libraries are especially under threat), as it is an area in which low pay is widespread. Such measures are not acceptable in a civilised 21st century democracy, and should be scrapped immediately.

  • Fix the Bath Sevendials Shared Space Scheme and install a wide Zebra crossing
We want the council to recognise that creating a shared space scheme on a major through road is not working. Expert design advice explicitly recommends that shared space is not built on a through road. The installation of a wide Zebra crossing on Monmouth Street/Westgate Buildings would redefine the space to have pedestrian priority and provide a safer environment for all vulnerable road users. It is quite clear from the number of near misses and general uncomfortable nature of the space that motorised vehicles feel they can barge through the space and be extremely aggressive. This remedy would be very cheap to implement and money from the underspend from Cycle City Ambition Grant Sevendials scheme should be made available to fix this glaring design mistake. It is ironic that the Zebra crossing on James St West outside the Odeon is a more comfortable and safe place to cross than Monmouth Street in the heart of the Sevendials Space.

  • Proper, Considered Review of the Almondsbury Helibase plans
From what we know, there is no need for the helibase to move from Filton to Almondsbury. The Almondsbury location is green belt land and requires very special circumstances to be considered for building. Not only are there no special circumstances in this case but there is no fundamental reason to move the helibase. There is no apparent risk to the helicopter services and it is understood that the current location of the helibase is secure, hence no need to move.

  • Fair Tax Mark
As representatives of the local community, local councils should recognise that it is important that we stop allowing the UK to be asset stripped & The Real Economy made poorer by companies which fail to play their part in supporting our infrastructure. To take a part in our society is a privilege in which the United Kingdom community expects every company to pay their share. Using accountants & lawyers to get round tax laws is not conducive to a healthy & productive economy.

  • Getting the right support in place for disabled students before they START a university course
A lot of disabled students get support at university for all different reasons whether it be physical, mental health or a learning need but unfortunately what often happens is that students don't receive this support until they are 6 months or even in some case a year into their first year of study. As you can imagine this can be very stressful, upsetting and can have a massive impact on the student and their ability to do the degree. Must people just get on with studying, while others who can't do anything without the support have to catch up once the support is approved and put in place. Unfortunately this has happened to me this year. It is now the end of January and I still haven’t got all the support in place need in order for me to even start studying. So it looks like I’m going to have to catch up on all my work between now and May 2016. Every person I have spoken that has applied for disability support has also not received a mentor, equipment or maybe a tutor that they need to study until after they have started their degree course. It’s amazing we have a society that supports people with different needs but unless this issue changes people with a disability will struggle to complete a degree course. Please join me in getting Justin Tomlinson to change the time scales and deadlines for disabled support allowance, student finance and make sure people receive and are set up for study before they even start their degree course.

  • Asda fines disabled customers
Once a month, I take my blind amputee brother to Asda supermarket in Perth. During our last visit to the store, we were appalled at our treatment following the use of a disabled parking space. I discovered a fine which had been imposed on the grounds that my brother (who has lived in a care home for many years and cannot drive for obvious reasons) does not have a blue badge to display. Why should a genuinely disabled person be fined in an Asda car park for not displaying a blue badge? Blue Badge Scotland clearly state on their website: "The Blue Badge scheme is for drivers or passengers with severe mobility problems. The scheme provides a range of on-street parking concessions enabling Blue Badge holders to park closer to where they need to go. The scheme does not apply to off-street car parking, for example in privately operated car parks at supermarkets or airports." I immediately contested this fine with the store management and was shocked to discover that Asda have no power to waive these fines under any circumstances. This is because Asda allow a private company - Smart Parking - to run many of their car parks across the country. This company exploits the blue badge system under their "contract" agreement and employ their own staff to cowardly affix parking fines to windshields without care or consideration for who could be using this space. By allowing such a company to run their parking areas, Asda are complicit in this greedy money making exercise. Following my formal complaint, I had a call from an Asda corporate employee who claims to be among the highest echelons of customer service representatives. This individual showed no understanding or compassion whatsoever, responding to my issue with cold bureaucracy. This employee showed (as with any other member of Asda management that i have discussed this issue with) utter incompetence in understanding the difference between criminal law and contract law. I have been persistently shamed as having “broken the law”, which is absolutely not the case. Perhaps the most shocking revelation during this call is that Asda have confirmed they DO NOT provide their own spaces for disabled people who do not have (perhaps have forgotten or never had the need for) a blue badge. Their best suggestion was that I use the drop off point at the front door. This shows an incredible lack of understanding as they expect me to leave my blind, wheelchair bound brother unattended while I find a regular space. My brother is effectively barred from Asda as there are no suitable spaces to allow safe access to their stores. This amounts to discrimination against disabled customers, as confirmed in my correspondence with Citizens Advice Scotland. They have suggested that there is a strong argument here for the discrimination against the disabled and they have notified trading standards with regards to this issue. I am grateful to have guidance and support of local mps and msps on this matter in addition to a local newspaper that intends to run our story. PLEASE SIGN this petition to help prevent other people from suffering this discrimination, humiliation and indignity while visiting their local Asda store. N.B. Tesco have confirmed that they do not treat their disabled customers in this way and are equally shocked by the conduct of Asda.
