Penrith residents have suffered the odour nuisance the Penrith 'pong' far too long. We want it to end. We want to be able to open our windows, breathe fresh air, lead normal (odourless free) lives !

Pollution impacts us all but it particularly affects vulnerable people and children and costs many lives.We must all work together to put pressure on the government to eradicate this ‘silent’ menace.

People are relying on the bus for work, shopping, parents with children and buggies, older people who cannot walk the distance to get their shopping and medication. People are paying for a service and not receiving it. All people want is a reliable, timely, consistent bus service to enable them to get food, medicine, meet a friend, get out of their homes to get some social time, avoiding loneliness. It’s not a lot to ask for all of the above reasons.

Cost of living rises are bad enough without having choose something else over you medication. Some pensioners are being made to pay for these too.

Separating pets from their family will cause lots of knock on issues including mental health issues and animals starving and dying in the streets. For lots of people, pets are close companions/Family and the stress and mental health issues for all is heartbreaking.

Many people on low incomes will lose their lives through hypothermia, as they will not be able to afford heating. Many more older people will just try and wrap up warm instead of putting the heating on because they can't afford the gas, or electric. Many disabled people on low incomes will have to choose between heating or food. This is corporate murder. The outcome of this is a massive rise in the death rate this winter. I myself am looking at a winter of severe pain with little to no heating each day. My mother is likely to just not turn the heating on and wrap up as warm as possible as she is of the wartime generation. I fear that she will not survive the next winter. Many of her generation, and their children on low incomes (state pensions) will likely do the same as they will not be able to afford heating this winter. Please do not start up a similar petition as it will weaken this petition. Instead share this one so as many people can sign it, and it gets brought before the house of commons.

The Oxfordshire local government pension scheme which, provides pensions for over 66,000 public sector workers in the county, has investments in fossil fuel companies including over £20m in Shell despite the county council having declared a Climate Emergency back in 2019. Scientists tell us that to avoid extreme disasters, the majority of known reserves need to stay in the ground. Yet these companies are investing in new fossil fuel exploration and development projects which jeopardize any chance that global heating will be limited to 1.5°C, threatening everyone's security and livelihood. Divestment sends a clear message to the fossil fuel sector and removes any social license to continue their dangerous business plans.

This is important as the Amazon customer base is huge and convenience shopping is here to stay. We have to find a more sustainable way to do this type of shopping and have the option to limit travelling miles of the products.

Our natural environment is already at risk from climate change. biodiversity loss and loss of habitat. During this heatwave at least 75 wildfires have been started by disposable barbeques. They also cannot be recycled so negatively impact the environment is multiple ways. Please sign this petition and ask the minister for the environment George Eustice to do the right thing.

OMEGA WORKS WAREHOUSE COMMUNITY IS UNDER THREAT AND WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT! Haringey Warehouse District, also known locally as Manor House Warehouses, is a former industrial site in South Tottenham that has, over the past 20 years, been converted into live and work spaces by artists, makers, performers and alternative community advocates. Hundreds of residents are drawn here because of the cohesive community living, affordable housing, creative space and opportunity for collaboration. These warehouse spaces have been steadily transformed by the creative inhabitants, becoming unique art spaces that host community events and have, for the last two decades, become an iconic fixture in London and unique in the world. We live and work in Omega Works, one of the main warehouse complexes on Hermitage Road, N4. The site has a rich and interesting history; from its birth as a piano factory in the 1930s, which built (at one point) the largest piano on Earth!, these warehouse spaces are now home to a thriving community of over 100+ residents and businesses. Here, we look after each other; our neighbourhood relationships are incredibly strong and provide a support network for a diverse group of under-represented and under-resourced people to cohabitate, collaborate and create real community. At Omega, there is always someone you can ‘borrow a cup of sugar’ from. We also contribute back to the local economy and rich cultural history of the area; in our spaces we host accessible gigs, workshops and exhibitions, fundraise for charity, and hold activist meetings for social justice issues. Omega is home to a screen printing business, a martial arts school, a kitchen, a photography studio, and SNAP! recording studio, whose clients include icons such as Kate Bush, Stormzy and Coldplay. The connections Omega Works nurtures among its inhabitants and into the area beyond are innumerable, and we contribute so much to the cultural offering to Haringey and North London as a whole. Our home, Omega Works, has now been targeted for redevelopment. The proposed plan would see the existing structure demolished to make way for new build flats. This would mean that everyone who lives and works here will lose their homes and livelihoods, and cause the extinction of a vibrant, diverse and close knit community. Not only would these new builds put considerable strain on the existing residential infrastructure and services of the area, but these new flats are will see a minimum 25% increase in rent, meaning that the displaced creatives and businesses will be priced out and completely lost from the area. If we let these spaces be destroyed, they will be lost forever, and with them the incredible value they contribute to the local economy, cultural history, and community of London. We want to STOP THIS DEVELOPMENT! We want to protect our community and way of life from extinction, and have the Haringey Warehouse Community recognised as a site unique to not only Haringey, but to London and the world.
