Camps hill new parkSince this park burnt down my kids have been really upset. They were big fans of the park, like many any other children in our local area and they really enjoyed playing in this park. I've started this petition calling on the council to invest in this local treasure. So many local children would benefit from some more swings, a slide and some simple climbing equipment. It's not a-lot to ask for the council to replace what has been damaged. Parks are extremely beneficial for young children, it's where they can play, learn and take time out from their phones and technology. Please sign this petition and provide local children with a fun, safe place to play.235 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Noreen Nawaz

Save our field on Heol Ashley mochdre industrial estateThis is the last remaining walking field in Newtown, it is home to lots of beautiful wildlife and is visited by lots of locals everyday. This field houses hedgehogs, lots of species of birds and mice, owls, and a heron, in summer it also attracts many bees and butterflies. Already by closing other popular walking feilds due to the Bypass and other constructions, wildlife has been killed and lots of people who enjoy fields have been left with only this field to enjoy. Everyone has a right to a green space - everyone should be able to see many birds and other animals and walk through the forest with their families. Please sign this petition and save the only remaining walking field in this area of the town where we can walk the dogs enjoy the wildlife and country feel.723 of 800 SignaturesCreated by Kelly Leah-Higgins

Please change our unused park...It's a waste of space, lots of younger children live near there and no one uses it... It only has bars and gym/training equipment, none of which any children use and could be dangerous if they try... Please, please change it into a park local children can use and enjoy...317 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Nicola Pizzey

SAVE OUR HISTORIC HARBOUR - HOLYHEADHolyhead Harbours proposed port expansion by STENA, includes the RECLAMATION of the INNER HARBOUR, including destroying the HISTORIC CLASS II LISTED HARBOUR WALL. As well as destroying the history of Holyhead, the port and all its NOISE/POLLUTION will be even CLOSER to local RESIDENTS. We urge the government to rethink the proposals and expand the port further out to sea away from residential areas. The current levels of noise/pollution are already unpleasant to live with, DISTURBING SLEEP and the smell of DIESEL FUMES inside houses. The proposed plans for the new reclaimed land will be used to store Lorry Trailers, which will be very unsightly to the very important tourist trade, deeply affecting local businesses. PLEASE STOP THIS HAPPENING.465 of 500 SignaturesCreated by Port Expansion Community Group

Stop cuts to Derby’s Specialist Teaching ServiceDerby City Council are planning a £220,000 cut in its specialist teaching service, which will almost exclusively affect its support for autistic children. At a time when autistic children are finding support difficult to come by, this is a massive blow to their education and their families, who are left to pick up the pieces. This cut represents a 25% loss in capacity, and must be stopped. We know that autistic children are three times more likely to be excluded than children without special needs. We know that school can be overwhelming and teaching staff often rely on training so that autistic pupils can flourish in their classrooms. The Government recognises that more needs to be done to support autistic children, in the classroom and out, and is including children and young people in their national autism strategy, released in November 2019. Instead of listening with open ears to what needs to change, Derby City Council are instead cutting jobs. Show Derby City Council that they must not make these cuts, and they must act to ensure they create an education system that works for autistic children and families.2,623 of 3,000 SignaturesCreated by George Stanbury

Stop indecent photos of minors being shared on snapchatMy daughter is 14 yrs old and has been horrifically bullied on snapchat for 18 months. The police have been involved several times however, cannot trace or access accounts on snapchat. Young girls and boys are being encouraged to share indecent images of themselves more and more and these images are later used against them. The police have also stated they do not like to criminalise children under 18 yrs old, the problem is though the majority of the bulling and sharing of pornagraphic images is done by the MINORS themselves. Meaning this horrific bullying can continue, ruining young girls and boys life’s. If however, these images were being shared by adults the criminal charges would be treated completely different. Snapchat monitors no messages or pictures shared and will not support the police in finding/seeing who has sent or shared certain messages/pictures. Snapchat has hundreds of ‘bait’ accounts sharing indecent images of minors which also encourages minors to continue sharing these images. If these accounts are reported to snapchat, snapchat takes days/weeks to remove them by which time new accounts have been opened and the torture continues. Snapchat should be supporting the young people using their social media accounts and not being part of the criminal activity that is causing more and more serious mental health, leading to death in our young people. My teenage child is being subjected to continuous abuse to the point of wanting to end her life and nothing can be done. She is not the only child going through this thousands of children are going through this on a daily basis. I also work in a crisis mental health unit with young people under 18 yrs old. I have found snapchat to be one of the first issues talked about leading, to the young persons mental health. I can not sit back as a mother or carer and do nothing. Please please please join me in signing this petition so I can get this heard at by the House of Commons and hopefully get snapchat monitored in an appropriate way. Please also talk to your teenagers using snapchat. Some parents are unaware what their child is going through or doing on Snapchat. Thank you for reading.201 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Sarah

Let Us InWheelchair users are being discriminated against every day, in all walks of life - education, work, homebuilding and social life. They are being denied access to buildings, venues and premises that other people in our society enjoy. Non-wheelchair users are often unaware of the obstacles wheelchair users face. Wheelchair users may want to join in with things but are being denied the opportunity to. The world puts up so many barriers . For instance, going to the theatre is an experience enjoyed and cherished by many families, especially during the festive season. However, like many other activities, theatres and shows often fail to be wheelchair accessible. Although the accessibility of venues has improved, wheelchair access is often forgotten, or indeed never thought about. I acquired my disability in 2010, and was plunged into a World that I didn’t know existed. I found that I couldn’t go here, couldn’t go there, couldn’t do this, couldn’t do that. It’s torture. The Equality Act describes disability as a ‘protected characteristic’. However, the Act is neither monitored nor enforced. If I think someone is in breach of the Act, it is up to me personally to raise a court action. As the majority of wheelchair users will be surviving on DLA/PIP, this means that this is outwith the realms of affordability for most of us. Is it deliberately cost prohibitive? This Act is nothing more than lip service – a façade to wrongly give the impression that the Government gives a damn. I was concerned about the number of premises which appeared to be inaccessible in the City Centre of my home town of Edinburgh, so I undertook my own accessibility survey. The results revealed some gobsmacking figures. I surveyed 130 properties on Lothian Road/Bread Street/Grassmarket on the West side of the City Centre. A massive 95 (73%) are NOT wheelchair accessible. This is Edinburgh, home of the Edinburgh International Festival and World famous Hogmanay celebrations and Scotland’s capital city, in the 21st Century. It’s appalling. This means that I would have to raise 95 court actions! Everyone who asked what I was doing during the survey made the same comment – “I thought everywhere was/had to be accessible now/these days”. I am not niaive to believe that this situation is confined to one City. The issue exists in every village, town and City, UK-wide. Wheelchair access needs to be a pre-requisite of planning permission for old AND new buildings. Inaccessible premises change ownership, undergo extensive refurbishment and re-open as ‘newly opened’ businesses, and are still inaccessible! How is this being allowed to happen?406 of 500 SignaturesCreated by Shirley Todd

Pesticide Free EdinburghEdinburgh City Council use pesticides for weed control on our streets, pavements, parks, playgrounds, around schools, cemeteries and green spaces. Pesticide use has multiple harmful effects on human and animal health and causes environmental pollution and degradation. The notorious chemical Glyphosate is used here in Edinburgh and has been linked to cancer in humans and animals (has recently been in the news with landmark lawsuits in the USA with thousands more awaiting trial). Direct contact with any pesticide can cause acute short term health problems such as respiratory tract irritation, allergic sensitisation, nausea/vomiting/diarrhoea, seizures, headache and loss of consciousness. Children are more at risk than adults due to their age and also their behaviour, for example, investigating nature, crawling and playing on grass and spending time in areas such as playgrounds and parks where pesticides are used. Dogs and cats are particularly vulnerable too due to their close proximity to the ground. Pesticides have also been shown to have a damaging effect on bee populations and other pollinators which are currently in steep decline and need all the help they can get. Many other towns and cities across the world have made the decision to go pesticide-free, using methods such as hot-foam, flame weeding, scraping, acetic acid solution and accepting a certain level of ‘weediness’. In the UK, Glastonbury, Lewes, Wadebridge and some London Boroughs are pesticide-free, proving that it can be done. The residents of Cherrytree in Balerno petitioned the council successfully to stop applying Glyphosate in their area because of the health risks of chemical exposure. We therefore call on Edinburgh City Council to put an end to all pesticide use in all of Edinburgh, using safe alternatives instead, protecting our health and the health of our environment.3,716 of 4,000 SignaturesCreated by Jessica Windsor

Save The Railway Tavern In HensallThis is our village pub. It has a long and proud history. It has the potential to be a great asset to our community like many other pubs in neighbouring villages. It would be devastating to see it knocked down and turned into housing.293 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Tim Pinto
